Brooke - I'll find a link to the thread for our trip a little later, but first ...
Oh my freakin' gosh!!!
This isn't the thread for a rant, especially today, but long story short, after our Royal Oak pilgrimage, Soda, myself, and Houston Baby headed out to L.A. just a couple of weeks later for another Eagles adventure. If my memory serves me correctly, we had already planned this trip before Glenn passed away and one of the really special things about this trip is that we rented a house in Laurel Canyon just a couple of blocks up the mountain from Glenn's infamous 'Kirkwood Casino & Health Spa' at the corner of Kirkwood and Ridpath. Another highlight of this trip was our pilgrimage to Joshua Tree Park where we made our own special memorial to Glenn. You can read about this in this thread starting at post #659:

But before you go there, I'll warn you what my rant is all about ... you won't see the picture of the memorial that Soda posted. DAMN PHOTOBUCKET! I'm that Soda or HB has a picture of this saved because, I don't take pictures and, oddly enough, I didn't save this one.

Dreamer,
I think it's so cool you, HB and Soda were able to visit these places and experience firsthand different places, people and things that played such a special and memorable part in Glenn's life. Heading over to Post 659 to get more of the story!!!
FP, Wow, love the photo you took of Glenn. It is priceless. Thank you for posting it and also the After Hours photos.
I love all the stories and photos. Thanks to everyone!! It really underscores the personal connection, how dedicated his fans were/still are and how very much he is loved and missed.

I love your collage Dreamer! It is a beautiful tribute to Glenn.
And I do have our whole trip on a cd. If I forgot to give you a copy, let me know and I will send one to you. You know how "old school" I am with my camera.
And for anyone going to LA on an EAGLES adventure, you should consider staying in Laurel Canyon. It is a beautiful magical place! Staying there made our trip so special.
Wonderful photo FP! One of my favorites too!
Glenn,
It's a shame I only grew to appreciate you and understand you towards the end of your life and after your death. Your influence on music and my life has been bigger than I would have ever dreamed. The way you led your band to be the best it could be and would accept no substitutes was and is admirable and took me awhile to understand. You were quite underrated as a guitarist, something I always thought, and although you deferred most of the singing as the Eagles went on to others, you always held your own in the band and had a voice that could equal one of the greatest voices of all time - Don Henley. The band was extremely lucky to have two great vocalists and always had the best musicians around to always perform at your highest. You gave it your all and believed in giving your fans the best show they could have. You founded the band, joined Don and together you made something incredible. Without the Eagles music, I wouldn't have ever found the guitar, something that gives me so much joy, and because of that, saved my life. I may not always have agreed with you and I may have been angry at you, but I've come to realize you always knew your band the best and did what you felt was right to keep it running at the highest level, and that's respectable. I am glad I finally saw the light, although much too late to appreciate this when I saw you live twice with the band. You were an incredible talent and I wish I knew back then what I do now. You were the heart of the Eagles and along with Don, created the music that changed my life forever.
RIP Glenn. I wish I could have met you. It's not the same without you here.

Well thank goodness you still have the photos, HB. I don't think I ever got a CD of that trip. I'll PM you later.
Our next adventure was in September, 2016 when Soda and I went to Winslow for the unveiling of Glenn's statue at the Standin' On the Corner' park. Here is the thread:
https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/...ead.php?t=6619
The first part of the thread is about the statue itself. You have to go 1/2 to 2/3 the way through before we get around to discussing the actual trip, which did not go that smoothly because the statue did not arrive on schedule. There is still the Photobucket issue so you can't see most of the pictures, but there are also a few YouTube videos that you can see.
