Oh wow! What a very special tribute Soda. Was it easy to find the spot of the photo shoot?
My daughter just went to Joshua Tree a few weeks ago and said she wants to go back. I might have to tag along!

Soda, dreamer, and HB, how awesome! I live vicariously through you and so wish I could do something like that!
Was the place marked somehow or how did you find it?

That's so cool, soda! I would love to go there someday.
People talking about us they got nothing else to do. When it all comes down we will still come through in the long run.
It was easier to find than you'd think because of Gram Parsons.
HB remembered that Bernie had said the photo shoot was done at a place all the stoners went to. Gram Parsons had said that he often went to Cap Rock and wanted his ashes spread there - which his friends tried unsuccessfully to do.
It made sense that Bernie and Gram were both talking about the same spot. We went to Cap Rock and circled around it but didn't see anything that looked like the photos... until we got to the spot where Gram's friends had tried to spread his ashes. It turns out that it was the same area! In fact, our tribute is near tributes Gram fans had laid out. Honestly, that's what gave us the idea.
So, if you're at Joshua Tree, go to Cap Rock and look for the Gram tributes. You'll recognize these stones nearby because they make a bit of an enclave:
Now, I suppose we could be wrong, but it sure looked like the same place to us.
..you gals are amazing...thank you for doing that...
Aww, that's wonderful you all did that!!! Would love to one day go there too whenever I finally make it out to California.

Did you camp out over night, chewing on peyote?
You know, the night prior we went to Dan Tana's by the Troubadour for dinner, and I joked we could just keep driving like they did and get to Joshua Tree in the wee hours of the morning. A 2.5 hour drive in the middle of the night didn't sound too appealing, though!
Wonderful! Very touching tribute!
I am so glad that we did this. It did bring some amount of closure for me. After we finished creating it, I thought of Glenn & how much joy his music & his life brought to my life. I said a prayer for him, his family & all his fans, shed a few tears and then walked away after one more look at the view the guys would have seen that night. I believe they were right - it is a spiritual, mystical place.
