Kate, be careful and enjoy yourself. Bring back some good stories for us!

I'm back after an brillliant week. Not for everyone, but we've had some amazing experiences. Driving a 4WD over unmade roads and into the desert is quite something. We camped on a beach & saw green turtles coming ashore to nest. Spent a night in the sands and got our camel ride - surprisingly comfortable - then an extreme drive out over impossible dunes. The Omani people were lovely; friendly, helpful and dignified.

Now for the pathetic bits: I don't like flying, but perked up when I saw NKIT on the menu. First morning at breakfast, they were playing a smooth jazz record, and suddenly I noticed HC. Boys spotted it too and made pertinent comments! On the way home, first the flight was GF003. Then I found a jewellery stand called M Frey, and hovered around it hopefully Then, I wandered into the music section, and under international music, what do I see but Solo Collection, amongst only about 50 other CDs. It actually made my heart pound! Glenn in Muscat. How can I explain that I was compelled to buy it to 'rescue' it from unappreciative folk!

Oh, thanks for sharing not only your fun vacation stuff, but the little sightings, too. A night in the desert - how exciting! Glad you had such a good time.

Thanks everyone. I'm picking up the photos tomorrow, so if you are really lucky I might post one of me and my camel!

Yeah Z - especially if that camel was named Glenn. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/devil.gif ALT=":evil">

Gosh, Oman seems a long time ago. It was a bank holiday today, so hubby and me finished off his long walk from North to South Devon by walking 14 miles from Ivybridge to Wembury. He's relatively fit, but I'm aching! It was a good day, and the joys of a car driving son to come and meet you!
