    We are off to the Dordogne in France tomorrow evening, going overnight on the ferry from Plymouth. A couple of days camping en route, then a week in one place, time to explore the area, right in the middle of the palaeolithic caves and the local scenery.

    I'll be taking some music and a few pictures with me, so will be thinking of you all!

    Cause I'm livin' on things that excite me,

    Be they pastries or lobsters or love;

    I'm just tryin' to get by being quiet and shy,

    In a world full of pushin' and shove.

    We got back home yesterday. Had a lovely week in a gite with its own pool, and since the temperature never dropped below 26 degrees, we found a lot of good reasons not to go far! We did visit Rouffignac cave, which had 12,000 year old paintings - mammoths, woolly rhinoceros, horses - amazing detail and some species now extinct. Also took canoes on the river Dordogne through lovely scenery. Hubby and boys took a flight over the chateaux in the valley, but the plane only had room for three (thank goodness), so I stayed in the car and listened to Strange Weather. On the ferry home, I nearly shrieked out loud when they played Wild Mountain Thyme in the boutique! It was on an Irish compilation - I tried to find out what CD it was but the assistants didn't know.

    Sounds like you had a good time, despite the heat. Glad to hear it! So do you mean you heard GLENN'S version of Wild Mountain Thyme?! That would blow my mind!

    We're off to Brittany for the weekend. 6 hours by ferry from Plymouth. Glad the gales from last night have died down! The hotel is said to have wi-fi internet access, so we are going to take the laptop. May be in touch tomorrow or not!

    Why is it Kate if the only one off to all of these fabulous destinations? Kate, take us with you!

    Oh, and have a wonderful and safe trip. I'll be right here. At home. As usual. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">
