I think my favorite is: "Wow, a sell-out crowd! The last time I sold out was when I did that Pepsi commercial with Don Johnson." Shows how he could make fun of himself.
Although I don't find anything nice, cool or interesting in drugs, I have always found this one hilarious: "When you blow your nose and your handkerchief looks like the flag of Japan, you know you're doing too much." I'm not sure if he came up with that himself, but I love this kind of...use of words.
As a Randy Newman/Ron Mael fan I wish he had utilized this "comic talent" more in his lyrics lyric writing.

This is from Cameron Crowe's 1975 Rolling Stone article. Earlier, they've been talking about how awards don't mean anything but a short while afterwards, they learn they've won a couple.

I recall hearing too that when he did a show in Hershey in Pennsylvania he sang again during PEF 'I wanna sleep with you in Chocolate tonight'.

A new one from the press line at the RRHOF a couple of years ago. It was directed at the photographers.
