There's this new commercial in the US for this new cup called the "Rocky Mountain Tumbler" and it supposed keeps drinks colder way longer than normal cups. I immediately thought of Joe's song and the funny thing was over the holidays my parents and brother saw the ad too and my brother joked they should've used Joe's song as a jingle, like "The Rocky Mountain Tumbler is better than the cups we had". LOL

Thats brilliant. I can hear it in my head.
My Brother got Dad a pair of shoes for Christmas. When I was helping him into them today (Dad, not the bro!) I notice that their brand name was 'Henley'!

Certainly an advertising opportunity for Joe!
Ga, cool shoes for your Dad, too!

There's a new country rock band that's starting to get big called Midland and they are already being compared to the Eagles and after listening to them I can see why.
It all started last night as my uncle posted on FaceBook an article talking about Midland and how he's loving their bringing a more traditional country sound back to today's country music. My Dad saw this post and ended up listening to them and then proceeded to get my Mom, brother, and I to listen to them too and he himself was comparing them to the Eagles and instantly liked them. They really do have a very similar Eagles style harmonies mixed with traditional country sounds of George Strait and Alan Jackson, and all three of the band members are from Texas. They aren't really that young either as 2 of the members are 37 and the other is 31, but their 1st album is coming out later this year.
The other things that I found funny with the similarities was that their band photos of them look like the early Eagles ones as they are in the desert wearing jeans, denim shirts, and boots, and two of the members have mustaches. Also, turns out the lead singer used to be a model for Calvin Kline, which I didn't expect. LOL
Then I got my latest issue of Entertainment Weekly today and they had an article talking about 10 new artists/musicians to look out for this year and Midland was one of them, and they too compared them to the Eagles. Their article is online here too:

Cool, Buffyfan, I'll have to check them out.
There's a blurb in Parade about actress Christina Ricci, who is featured as Zelda Fitzgerald in "Z: The Beginning of Everything." It's supposed to be streaming on Amazon starting today. Of course, this reminded me of Witchy Woman.

Just listened to a radio show featuring Elbow going through their brand new album, Little Fictions, track by track. Took me right back to the release of Long Road Out Of Eden in 2007. Three nights of hearing new Eagles, music for the first time, with all the band members talking us through it.
If any of you are watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, there is a sweet brown and white pup named Glenn. He's a very mellow guy.
