Glad things are starting to turn your way, Groupie!

I know that you will do well at the conference, Soda. But be careful when out and about. Birmingham drives like Talladega, LOL!

Soda - Good luck with your presentation !

Groupie - So sorry to hear about your car accident. I hope you start feeling better soon. Car accidents like that are sure scary. Hope things work out with the insurance company.

Brooke - Congrats on the beautiful new Grandbaby. Happy to hear they are are all dong well.

GA - Good luck with your Mom. We had to place my Mom in a nursing home after she had a severe stroke. I know how stressful it can be.

Soda, I hope your conference went well.

Good luck and prayers for everyone dealing with aging parents. My mom went into assisted living two years ago after she fell in the driveway and broke her hip. She had been living on her own for several months after my Dad passed. It’s a hard transition but it’s really the safest option. Plus, the daily activities and chance to socialize is good.

Thank you, New Kid! It's all worked out with the insurance company and I have a new car now. The neck comes and goes, some days I feel better, other days it's still pretty bad. It could have been a lot worse though. Thank you all for your concern!

So glad to hear this! I hate dealing with insurance companies... glad you got things settled. And here's hoping the neck pain goes more than it comes.

The hubs and I are headed to Duluth MN this weekend for our son's college football game. Any Border friends near that area, wanting to know what we can expect? I know the weather is much colder there than here in Texas, but anything else? All thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Soda - I hope your presentation went well! I can't do public speaking. I just can't. I'm a ball of nerves and I'd be lucky to get a whisper out.

Groupie - Sorry to hear about your accident. Insurance companies can be a real pain. Sorry to hear your troubles with that.

    Brooke - Congratulations!

GA - best of luck with your mom.

    Hello all.

I've been posting less lately and I'm going to get to why in a bit but I wanted to say thank you to Soda for keeping the forum going amongst server troubles, animosity, etc. Thank you and thanks to everyone who helped. I certainly missed posting here. I've been posting off and on since it came back but I've been stretched pretty thin lately and posting on a message board just isn't high on my priority list right now.

So, to elaborate on my absence and the above verbiage:

My health is not well. In September I went in the hospital with yet another adrenal crisis, and stomach issues and so they kept me overnight and did a scope of my stomach and I have reflux and an ulcer. That's been treated successfully and is luckily over. However, the frequent adrenal crisis issues are a real problem and it seems I'm becoming tolerant to my daily maintenance dosage of steroids so I've upped them.

However, since being discharged with the hospital I've had headaches, low grade fever only at night, fatigue, and joint pain (moreso than my normal osteoarthritis - in new places like knees and ankles which I've not dealt with before). My internist did some blood and urine testing and I have some abnormal labs. Basically inflammation/infection markers in my blood are abnormal and I have blood and protein in my urine.

So I'm going to be seeing THREE different specialists to try to ascertain the cause. I will be having a cystoscopy at the end of this month to look into the bladder, and I'll be seeing both a rheumatologist and an infectious disease specialist the first week of December. I did have a positive rheumatoid factor and another test I can't remember. We are looking at a possible lupus/rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. Also to rule out infection and to be safe, I'll also be seeing an infectious disease doctor for testing to rule out infection. My white cells are normal, but the sed rate and c-reactive tests are abnormal which either mean inflammation OR infection. So we have to be sure I don't have a life threatening infection of some kind harboring. But the likely cause is rheumatological. Also lupus and rheumatoid arthritis can cause the blood in the urine.

Of course when I heard lupus/rheumatoid arthritis/autoimmune I immediately thought of Glenn. I really, really don't want to be diagnosed with it. The condition alone is bad enough, and the medicines that they use to treat it can leave you quite vulnerable to bugs and as we know, that can end disastrously. It's also progressive. I'm only 30. I have enough health concerns as it is. I also worry about bladder tumors now.

As you can imagine, my mental health is also in the toilet. I've kept pretty quiet about all of this on my personal social media, and I don't post as much on there, similarly like here, I just haven't felt like it. I have anxiety anyway, so my worries are at an all time high and it's also left me feeling pretty disinterested in things I once liked. I'm not going to change meds or do anything - I don't want it affecting any future tests or treatment honestly. So I've got a double whammy. Also with my condition, emotional stress can be enough to cause yet another adrenal crisis so I'm trying to distract myself. Also there are some family worries right now and I feel like I'm just spread so thin that I can't handle much more. So my moods have been in the gutter and I'm trying not to worry family any more, because then I worry about them worrying. Ugh.

    -----

So if I'm quiet on here or those of you that are on my FB notice, I'm just dealing with a lot and when I'm done worrying - I don't have any energy left to feel like dealing with anything that could lead to drama and I'm just not finding enjoyment in social media or message boards right now. I try to post occasionally but I'm trying to juggle a lot of stuff and this gets my last priority. I hope you all are well. Happy Holidays.

Austin, all that and you end with "Happy Holidays." Bless you!

I know you're seeing lots of specialists, so you're in good hands. But I would suggest to also look at food and nutrition in the midst of all this. (Of course, I say that realizing you may already be considering that.)

Best to you... I'll keep you in my thoughts.
