Here's another one deserving of its own thread. Fan or not, a band that needs no introduction. The preeminent jam band, precursor to such hot commodities as the Allman Brothers Band, the Doobie brothers, Phish, the Spaghetti Incident, and Widespread Panic. Psychedelic revolutionaries and performers of some of the most meaningful songs ever written. In fact, the Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter songwriting partnership ranks right up there with Lennon/McCartney, Frey/Henley, and Bacharach/David as one of the all-time greats.

Definitely a good bit over-rated as far as the so-called 'Dead Heads' are concerned, and yet even I occasionally find myself nodding along to their more far out jams. Just a few personal favourites:

They also have done many live performances of such Beatles classics as "Rain" and "It's All Too Much." Not aware of any Eagles covers, though it would be fun to imagine Bob Weir singing the Frey parts and Jerry Garcia singing the Henley parts. Would be curious to see how many of our fellow Borderers also dig the Dead.
