    Talking John Corey

Okay, I know this is flying back in time to 94, but I just wanted to talk about the cutie on the keyboards. HFO, he was the one that Don Henley was griping to about the orchestra playing the intro to "New York Minute" like white people. Anyone know anything about him? Just interested. He always kinda stuck in my mind for some reason, so I figured I'd ask.

Raven hair and a nice smile in 94. I wonder what he's doing these days.

I know he was one of Don's guitarist in his solo band for many years before he was asked to be part of the Eagles backup band. I guess he stopped being part of the Eagles and Don's solo band at the turn of the millennium.

He was part of the Who backup band(along with Don's former guitarist Frank Simes) for many years. Since the Who are not touring at this moment, I don't know what's he's doing right now.

    Brothers for life. RIP Glenn

I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley

I swear we have a thread about him or definitely one in which he is discussed...I'll try to find it.

Ari - I may be able to save you & MC some trouble. If you click 'Search' at the top of the page and then type "john corey" (include quote marks) in the 'Search' bar, it will give you a list of all the threads on the board where John is mentioned.

And also, here is a link to a short page about John's involvement with the band that Soda (our board administrator) has on EaglesOnlineCentral:

Okay, so I did a little detective work (okay, so I just Googled everything) and found out a few things about Mr. Corey...

He was in a band called Sky, and in a band called Silver Condor.
    He's from Detroit originally.
It's spelled Coury. (So what's up with "Corey"? Stage name? Eh, who knows.)

    Annnnnnd....that's all I found!

    Wow, what a detective.

I'm getting way too into these emojis! LOL!

    Hi Ariadne,

FYI John Corey played guitar on Randy’s 3rd solo album (s/t 1982). He also wrote one of the album tracks, which Randy performed at his live shows. John Corey toured with him for that album as well.

I’m guessing he changed the spelling b/c “Coury” kept getting mispronounced.

Here’s the song that John wrote, it so happens to be a favorite of mine.

Oh wow, I've heard that one before! I had no idea he wrote it! Multi-talented! That is an awesome song.

Pardon the spacey sounding response...just took my diabetes medicine and it kinda makes me a little loopy right after I take it. *looks around* Hmm...no shot needle emoji?? Okay, lol.

    Thanks for the info!

    Ari
