I certainly hope the investment company secured the proper permission to use this song, or they will be hearing from Don's lawyers!

I have to agree with Maleah, too, about HOTM. It's just such a beautiful message and so real and heartfelt.

As for EOTI, I love the song. But Bruce Hornsby's piano dominates it before I get to hear Don's beautiful voice. I like the other 3 songs better. Thanks so much for not making it immune yet!

I cast my vote for The End of the Innocence.

I am proud to announce that I've managed to get my hands on a copy of "Actual Miles", thanks to a very kind friend, and it's an excellent album. I was very pleased to be able to hear the original studio recordings of "Dirty Laundry" and "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" for the first time, since I've grown to love the F1 versions of these songs. I knew I was recovering from my cold when I began dancing all around my bedroom to both songs!

MF, I am sorry to disillusion you but Everybody Knows was written and sung by Leonard Cohen. His voice is deeper than Don's and that is probably the version you heard.

In answer to DF's comment, surely permission to use the song would have to come from Leonard Cohen, not Don.

This is very tough as I would have initially done for DL but as it is immune I can't. Now any of the 3 remaining do not deserve to go. I actually LOVE Bruce Hornsby's piano playing, so I'm NOT going to vote for EOTI!

With reluctance and after a lot of soul searching I cast my vote for

    Heart of the Matter

    Sorry MF!

You are absolutely right, FP. I was thinking of You Don't Know Me At All when I answered that post.

I would normally vote for The End of the Innocence this time. However, since it looks like it is going to be eliminated without my vote, I will once again vote strategically.

I cast my vote for The Heart of the Matter.

I'm so sad---I LOVED End of the Innocence! It is a brilliant piece of songwriting, and Don's vocals are also perfect on it. I get such an aching, wistful feeling whenever I hear it.

I felt that, in many ways, it mirrored my own life, because I was so young and innocent when I got married the first time--19! But I loved him and I thought everything would be perfect. Then when we both grew up, in different ways, everything fell apart. My "happily ever after failed." I moved away, to a bigger city, to a new life--and I married again, happily---but still, when I hear:

Who knows how long this will last
Now we've come so far, so fast
But somewhere back there in the dust
That same small town in each of us...

It makes me remember when I was young and innocent too.

I cast my vote for Dirty Laundry

As much as I love it and how much it means to me..............the other two are just perfection and can't be beat, imo.
