Default Glenn's Quote During The HFO Show Of "It's All Downhill From Here"???

I don't know if anybody has ever noticed this but, after Glenn sincerely thanks the guys for doing the HBO gig (and the further Hell Freezes Over tour), he quickly says, "It's all downhill from here...."

Does anybody have a clue as to what he might have meant?

I think he meant it positively. Like he meant it was all going to be smooth or easy from then on.

I agree, Austin. I think he was saying they had done the hardest part of the reunion, so whatever came next would be easier.

Yeah, that's a safe bet. I've always thought it was a funny way to say it, though, since "going downhill" so often has as negative connotation.

Well, they did go on to perform a massive 28 song tour from 1994-1996 (And in my opinion the best tour the eagles ever did) so even if he was serious which I doubt they did that awesome tour!

To me it sounds like Glenn's self effacing kind of humour. Like it's only gonna get worse from now on.

I agree that chaim's interpretation is a very valid interpretation, too since the expression can have both positive and/or negative connotations. After all, Glenn did say that he and Don always strived for perfect ambiguity.
