Heartbroken! My sister and I were HUGE Monkees fans when they had their revival in 1986. They were the first real rock concert my sister and I went to. We were so into them that one Halloween, I dressed up like Micky (my fave - plus he was curly haired like me) and she dressed up like Peter (her fave). She will be devastated!

This is my favorite Peter Tork vocal (his part starts at 0:58 ) - a fantastic duet with Davy:

I love "Shades of Grey". I also adore "Auntie Grizelda", which Peter sang lead in.

This is something that never made one of their original albums, but rather is an outtake that was released on a box set. It's my favorite all-Peter song. It's called "Tear the Top Right Off My Head."

We used to watch the Monkees on Saturday mornings and then on weekday afternoons. One of my favorite episodes has always been "The Devil and Peter Tork."

Horrible. Micky was always my favorite, but I loved them all !! I remember watching them on Channel 48 every day. I also had the good fortune to see them in 1986 for their 20th anniversary tour in Philly. First Davy, now Peter. It hurts when you see the people you grew up with dying.

Nice article from a woman who used to be editor of Tiger Beat:

Raise your hand if you used to read Tiger Beat from cover to cover. (Yes, my hand is raised!)
