Well, you know, I wondered why I had heard that animals couldn't get it when it started with bats.
Sure hope they are right about the tigers recovering!

We finally have a "shelter in place" in Missouri. My county and several neighboring counties don't have any confirmed cases yet. A couple have 1 or 2 cases. Across the mighty Mississippi in my neighboring Adams County in Illinois there are 7 confirmed cases.
I visited my Mom through the window at her nursing home Saturday for her 88th birthday. They haven't had any more cases there either. Great news!

Brooke that was so nice you were able to "visit" your Mom for her birthday. Hope she stays well.
We now have 41,090 Corona Virus cases with 1,003 deaths. Our Governor Phil Murphy has ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half staff to honor those who have passed. Thus far he has been doing a great job. He has established a "Knucklehead Hall of Shame" for those people caught violating the Stay At Home Order. This past weekend they arrested some guy who put a Who concert on in his front lawn ! There were about 50 people there and the police gave them all summonses. They arrested a second guy yesterday who was at the "Concert" and cursed at the cops. 99% of the people are obeying the orders. You always have that one percent that have to act/be jerks. I see very few cars and people out in my neighborhood.
We have a stay at home order here, too. I believe we have had about 100 cases in our county so far.
We've been sitting out on the deck and taking walks to get some fresh air (pollen included, for free.)
Feeling so bad for everyone suffering loss in this difficult time.
Trying to maintain our sense of humor and holding out hope that things improve for all of America, and all over the world, sooner rather than later.
Best wishes to everyone here. Take good care.

News just came out that John Prine lost his battle with the coronavirus. So sad.
Its sad to say we might be seeing a lot more famous people dying especially the older ones.
Brothers for life. RIP Glenn
I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley
I was hearing experts saying that majority of the people who are getting the virus and/or dying are African Americans. Its kinda scary especially since I'm an African American, but my mother and I are doing everything to protect ourselves.

I saw that on the news, too! I think they said it was because of their socioeconomic circumstances rather than any increased vulnerability due to ethnicity. Here's more info:

The news is worrisome, though! You and your mom are doing the right thing!
Thanks. If I didn’t haven’t to go to work twice a week, I would stay home. Both my mother and I are essential workers , so I have to go. I don’t mind going in. I’m only off for three days. My mother goes in for 4 days. I’ll be staying in my office the next two days and spray down my office when I get in in the morning because who knows who’s been in there since last Thursday.

We, CT, are definitely still climbing in numbers. The tri state area is hit hard, as NKIT pointed out with New Jersey’s numbers. It’s sad at work. They keep converting sections into more areas for covid patients. Supplies are low, yet are getting donations from a lot of places. Shopping in so strange, restricted to 1 family member and stores can’t be above mid capacity.
