RIP.
While I wasn't a fan of his music, he is an icon and I love his part of the early Eagles history.

No! Not Kenny! You broke the news to me. 😣😢 He is such an icon! memories of my childhood and the tv special, “Islands in the Stream”....I love that song! RIP. Heaven’s band gets another member 😔
Kenny Rogers has passed away at 81. He was at home with family under hospice care. I had not heard that he was ill.
Prayers for his family.
Of course, all Eagles' fans owe Kenny for helping Don/Shiloh get to California in the first place, etc.

Very very sad 😔. I just heard it first on the border. walshfan88 posted too. A true legend, I didn’t know he was ill either.
Sorry, WF, your post wasn't there when I started typing. I kept changing my wording and took too long. I don't know how to delete my whole post. Admin.?

So sorry to hear this. The A&E biography of Kenny Rogers that Shun posted about is set to air on April 13th. I wonder if they will air it earlier? It is said to be built largely from an all-star salute concert in Nashville in 2017. Don Henley is listed as one of the guests.
Oh no! I was so shocked when I saw this. I had not heard anything about him being ill either. I loved Kenny Rogers - his music had just enough of an edge that made it sound more like country rock to me. One of my favorite lines that I still use often is "you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em." And, of course, I love to the role he played in Eagles' history. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fan. I am glad to hear that his family plans to have a public memorial for fans and friends once the coronavirus pandemic subsides.
R.I.P. Kenny Rogers
