Don's guitar tone
I really like Don's guitar tone. It's thick and full and seems like it would work well with all kinds of music. Apparently this is accomplished in part with custom Seymour Duncan pickups and custom amps. Does anyone know the specs on these components and whether or not I could recreate them at home?

Re: Don's guitar tone
Gibson Les Paul Standards with lower output pickups into Fender amplifiers. That's Don's tone. Sure he used a Strat on some things but he's a LP guy and most of his biggest parts are all done with that setup.
Seymour Duncan 59s or Seth Lovers would be probably pretty close to his custom wound versions. As far as amps. I think a Fender Blackface 65' Deluxe Reverb reissue could take you a long way to that zone.
