Ditto to all of the previous comments here!

I'd love to see it be an annual event, on the Friday nearest his birthday. And to get there too. With travel restrictions here it won't be possible for me this year.

Seems to be driven by a Detroit Radio station
'Big Jim' at WCSX in Detroit has been wonderful in helping to keep Glenn's memory alive. As stated earlier, he was key in making Glenn Frey Drive a reality and now for Glenn Frey-day this year. It would be great to see this turn into an annual event.

    Way to go, Big Jim!!!

Here’s an article about Glenn Frey Day, which is now official:

Beasley Media Group announces WCSX-FM, in conjunction with the Mayor of Royal Oak, will proclaim Friday, November 6th, 2020 as ‘Glenn Frey Day’ in honor of the late Eagles co-founder and Michigan native. Station Morning Show Personality Jim O’Brien from Big Jim’s House Morning Show will broadcast live on Friday, November 6th from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Glenn Frey Drive in commemoration of the late singer/songwriter’s birthday. In addition, O’Brien will join the Mayor of Royal Oak, Michigan Mike Fournier, in officially proclaiming “Glenn Frey Day” as well as share stories about the late Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee from Detroit legends Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, and others.

The broadcast location marks the spot where Frey attended and graduated from high school in 1966. It also served as the home of his first band “The Subterraneans“.

A special t-shirt, commemorating the event will be available for purchase at www.wcsx.com
. Net proceeds from the sales will benefit the Michigan Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. The organization funds research and raises awareness as well as provides education and support patients throughout the state of Michigan and Northwest Ohio. Colitis was one of the contributing factors to Glenn’s passing.

I've just gotten a t-shirt too, I also hope it becomes and annual event. I think there is great potential here.

So disappointed to say mine did not come in on time! I am wearing my After Hours shirt. I guess that one will have to wait until next year!

Mine didn't either - I hope they do this next year too. I can wear it then and I will also try to go.

I got my cousin and his partner who live in Detroit to enter the competition for the GF Drive sign as you had to love in the vicinity to enter and I'm just a teeny bit too far away!!

Mine arrived today, but not until around 7:30 p.m. Still it was a good present to me for Glenn's birthday. I really like it.
