Happy Birthday, Don! I hope you have a wonderful day.

As like I've said about Glenn, Mr. Henley's music is very dear to my heart. However, as Glenn's hits were the staple of my childhood, Don's solo music was one of the few things that helped me survive my teen years. The album versions of Heart of the Matter, End of the Innocence and Last Worthless Evening played heavily on my local soft rock station in the 90s, and I would never complain. His duet with Stevie Nicks "Leather and Lace" is my favorite non-Disney love song duet (the line "could you ever love a man like me" still makes me swoon). And I just love the part in Patti Smyth's "Sometimes love just ain't enough" video where she puts her head on his shoulder and he rests his head on hers.

And if it wasn't for my favorite Sacramento classic rock radio station, The Eagle, posting an article about his birthday last year, then I would have never rediscovered the Eagles.

Happy 74th Birthday to one of the best voices in rock. I hope he had a great day today.

    Brothers for life. RIP Glenn

I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life. Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some." -Don Henley
