Oh yes, I remember it well. I think mine's lacking some of the songs you had on yours. I should get a copy of the songs you had so I can get them all loaded onto mine. You did that playlist right!!!

That was a very thorough playlist!

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
So, George Jones was in concert at my casino this past friday. Don has said in a few interviews that Mr. Jones is one of his musical influences. I wonder if the Eagles weren't in concert that night in Lubbock would Don have made the 3 hr trip from Dallas to see him in concert. I mean, Don's made a whirlwind trip from Canada to his hometown in one night to see Merle Haggard in concert. Hey, a perfectly sane, hardcore Eagles/Don fan can dream, right?
Btw, Mr. Jones was playing blackjack hours before his concert but shortly before I got to work at 4pm he left to start preparing for the show. No word on whether or not he won or if he's a good tipper.

I remember calling you a little while ago when I found out George Jones was going to be at your casino. I would have LOVED to have seen him. A true legend. I'd love to see Merle Haggard, too. I love his music, and his documentary "Learning To Live With Myself" is both interesting and moving.

A lot of times I will go to Nashville the week between Christmas and New Year's to visit my aunt and cousins. We will ride around and see different things, particularly elaborate Christmas decorations. One of the "must see" attractions is a visit to George Jones' house. It is unbelievable the way that it is decorated at Christmas time. We tried to take pictures but none of them come close to capturing the magnificance. As I have mentioned numerous times, I'm not a huge fan of country music, but I have to say George Jones and Merle Haggard are among the best, IMHO.

Dreamer, that is so cool. I love country music. The old stuff, anyway. George, Merle, Waylon, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Don Williams... I'm fascinated by those characters. They certainly lived it!

I like some country music and George Jones is a classic. I saw him a few years ago in concert at a small country festival and he was fantastic. Good ol' possum!

Just really missing the guys lately! I looked at the tour schedule and see they are "off" this month...Dec is busy for them... then I thought, hey, they are out of town until basically the day before Christmas Eve... I wonder if that gets them out of Christmas shopping.
I really wish I could see them live... I'm kinda kicking myself that I missed them over the summer... I could use a fix about now... I'll even take a solo show if they'd throw me a bone and do one!
Well, ltl - they have stores in Australia, so no exemptions for the guy as far as Christmas shopping.
But, I know EXACTLY how you feel about missing those shows. The reason I drove so far to Louisville to see the guys (and Soda, of course) is because I figured it would be my last chance to see them for a good long while. I know I would have been kicking myself now if I hadn't gone. My guess is that we won't see any more Eagles shows until spring at the earliest. Maybe we'll get real lucky and one or two of them will schedule some solo shows or two of them will schedule some Party of Two shows. I figure that I'm gonna try to seize any opportunity that I can to see them.
