I went ahead and merged the threads for you, Eliza.
And this is quite an honor for Linda. She looks like she is doing well.
Congratulations to her!

Sad to see the photo of her in a wheelchair, though.

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
I agree. Our guys look so good for their age that I think we sometimes forget that they are getting older. It's hard to watch that happen but I do think she looked pretty good, despite the toll Parkinson's is taking on her. It just makes me sad to know that she can't sing anymore. I love her voice.
There's a tribute concert being held for Linda in December. Jackson Browne and Grace Potter will be performing. Perhaps one or more Eagles will be in attendance as well.

I'm so glad Don H was there to pay tribute. Here's what he said at the benefit:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...212-story.htmlAs was often the case Sunday, Henley pointed out the game-changing effect Ronstadt had on the careers of so many aspiring songwriters when she turned her attention to one of their songs.
“This song got very little notice when it came out on our second album in April of 1973,” Henley said of “Desperado.” “When Linda recorded it and put it out on her ‘Don’t Cry Now’ album in September of 1973, everything changed.”

But Linda herself was not in attendance, if I understand correctly.
"Our guys look so good for their age that I think we sometimes forget that they are getting older." That's true. I still sometimes mentally refer to Mr. Schmit as "young Timothy" but he's not anymore.
Sadly, she was not there. I hope she was able to watch it some way. I thought it was touching that her old flame J.D. was there.
Viewing the video clips from the HOTE tour, I've been especially impressed by Bernie. He was still looking strong, strapping and sprightly.

That's too bad she wasn't there.

Happy Birthday, Linda Ronstadt!
Today is the lady's 72nd birthday. While she has struggled with health issues lately, it sounds like she's making the best of the situation.
Here's an article about her from May of this year, from the SF Chronicle:
