To all of you AI newbies who are going to try it out, please take the audition episodes with a grain of salt - the real show IMO, starts when they whittle it down to 12. Next week is Hollywood week where I think they will get it down to 24. It's all fun to watch, but I really enjoy watching the final 12 try to better themselves each week. That's when the real talent shines through!

Oh man, I feel so sorry for that girl who quit her job, although it was nice of Simon to help her get it back!

And what was wrong with that contest winner Jessica's singing? I liked it just fine!

I don't know... I'll never understand what makes the really bad ones think they're good. And yeah, Simon the nice guy, who woulda thunk it?

I just saw a segment I'd missed earlier on a girl named Stevie who's in contention - and who was named after Stevie Nicks. She has a good voice, too (see her audition here).

    I think I have a favorite!

Actually, when I initially saw that segment on TV, I immediately thought of you, Soda. I guess that's 'how I know I'm addicted to The Border!' I also think she has a great shot. I missed most of the audition shows (I think I only saw 3), so I have to review the contestants at the Hollywood Week shows.

    I'm honored!

I love that they played Stevie's "Rooms on Fire" when she got her golden ticket, too!

I just read today that there is a singer named Jesse Langseth in the competition who is the younger sister of blues singer Johnny Lang. I don't know Johnny Lang except that I remember he made the "Top 10 Singers" list of at least one or two Borderers, so I thought that his sister might be of interest to them. However, I have no idea who she is either, so I don't know if she survived the Hollywood round thus far or not. Just figured I would offer this bit of trivia, and that those of you to whom it pertained could do the leg work and find out whether her singing abilities matched her brother's.

I thought that the Hollywood rounds could've been televised much more effectively. I would've rather seen more of the actually singing, than so much of the personal drama and the judges' comments about the acts we didn't even see!

Seriously! I don't care about their lame drama. Let me hear some singing!

But that version of "Don't Stop"....

I agree, the more the drama the less I want them to advance! I did a little research today and learned the names of a couple of my faves so far:

Megan Corkrey - she is very cute and had a very distinct voice during her audition, but since it didn't really show her perform during Hollywood week I have to wait and see...

Adam Lambert - did you see this guy during the group auditions??!!?? All I can say is WOW!

Soda, I see Stevie is still in the running. Anxious to see how she does!

I noticed that Alan Osmond's son did not make the cut... it's probably just as well...
