Well, cream rises. If the person from the backwoods without any experience can't sing well enough to beat the one who has had a prior contract, then he/she doesn't deserve to win. JMHO.

Here's something I found online that puts faces to names.

Edited to add: it's apparently the final 36, so don't click if you want to be surprised!

And Danny G. is the widower - you can see the video of his group performing here.

That does help. I take it that those are the final 36, which actually haven't been shown as decided yet on TV!

You know, while it didn't occur to me before, this thread should probably go in "Singing for the Sake of the Song" since our contestants are singing their hearts out! I'm moving it.

Adam didn't impress me this week. Cher's "Believe"???

But Matt Girard doing "Georgia"... wow. Incredible!

I also thought Jamal's "Hey There Delilah" wasn't that great. Widower Danny G. was better. Paula jumping up during Danny's performance was kind of lame though - it wasn't THAT great!

Anoop's "Perogative" was surprisingly good! I also like Jorge's "Closer."

I was worried about Scott being "Stunt casting" but he's definitely good.

Lil' Rounds has a great voice, even if her name grates. I bet she goes far.

I'd say Matt Girard impressed me the most tonight. He and Stevie are my current faves.

Paula was jumping up for quite a few of the guys, as usual I guess!

I actually thought the guys overall were quite strong. I think I liked Anoop the best today. I've liked him since his audition, though I remember Simon thought he needed a wardrobe upgrade!

I thought it was quite weird that the keyboardist who made it a point to say how his song was not difficult to memorize, and then failed to get past the first 2 lines before leaving the stage voluntarily, appears to have made it through tonight's round. (I think I saw him briefly in one of the 3 "yes" rooms, though not 100% sure.) The judges have pretty much said that once you forget lyrics, you're out. I guess we'll see tomorrow if he is still in or not.

Overall, much better than last week...at least they focused more on the singing than the drama. (Oh, except for the dreaded Tatiana!)

Still haven't seen or heard from Jesse Langseth! Hopefully tomorrow!

Actually, wait a minute. Now I'm not sure if she was in the room where you really thought that Randy was giving them the boot, but then kept them on; or if she was actually booted. Sorry for the confusion; I spoke too soon. I don't know where she is.
