He sings it high, he plays it low
Congrats on your new purchase, GEF I've never thought of collecting anything about my favourite musicians and singers, I'm too lazy to do collections LOL My father owns some memorabilia of the most famous bands of the 60's and 70's ... Have to check his stuff in the next few days and see if there's something interesting about our boys

Wow beautiful enjoy it even if u don't play its a beauty to own
OK I continually work on my EAGLES VINYL collection and I now have 1st issues of the 1st Album and Desperado. How can you tell?
1- EAGLES Debut Album
Has the Gatefold cover with the upside down photo when you open. This was soon changed to no Gatefold and a Photo of the band on the back. The 1st issue has no band on back. Also the 1st issue Record has a White Label.
This is what the first issue looks like.
2- DESPERADO
How do you know you have a 1st issue?
- Cover is textured
- Sleeve is Black with nothing on it
- Record label is White just like the one above
Later issues the labels were Blue Sky with wooden cage.

What's anyone ever seen copies of their gold eagle medallions they they all wire ( see in HOTE).. Those are way cool. Would love to have one of those.
Sandy
Thanks for posting those, OMNJ - it's always great to be able to add to your collection of Eagles memorabilia.
And Skpx, as far as the gold Eagles medallions, I don't recall ever seeing a close up picture of them. My theory is that since there were only four of them made for each of the original band members, they didn't want any duplicate counterfeits made so they were careful about how they were photographed.

That means that your Desperado was probably an early version, but not THAT early. The first pressings had the White label with the circled blue sky, later the whole label had the blue sky.
This quote is from This page, there is one line I cant decifer, maybe someone can help. Im confused as to what they mean in the RED. Does that mean after the first 15 issues of any particular album (say the 15th print of Desperado for example), or does that mean the first 15 issues (albums) by Asylum records of a variety of artists?
The first Asylum issues used a white label, with a wooden cage logo within a circle at the top. After the first fifteen issues or so, the background changed to sky and clouds, with the same logo but the circle gone.
