I remember around 6-7 years old watching on a big screen television in my parents basement a concert from the 1970's by a band called The Eagles with the words Hotel California across the stage. This was around 1993 so I was in the 1st grade. I do remember noticing a man with blonde hair & a red bandana on first and I must've said that I liked him and there was a sort of dead silence for a few minutes but at 7 years old I knew they were upset so then I looked over and was drawn to the man with long hair & mustache with his sunglasses laying on top of his head. They were ok after that! I hadn't once thought of any of this until watching the HOTE documentary for the first time this year.
I just got a new book today, Burst Believers 4, which is the fourth and final book in the series about Gibson Les Paul Standard "Sunburst" made in 1958 through 1960.
Joe had this picture in the book with his Burst guitars. He also had a story that basically said Gibson got it right the first time and no one has topped the Les Paul design from 1959.
This is the picture:
Very cool, Austin! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a fantastic picture of Joe - love it.
