    Nice one, Lacken.

Without wanting to sound corny how about?

'Glenn checked out but he'll never leave us'

He had such a good sense of humour, he's enjoy something ironic, imo.

...Well it sure makes you wonder the things that some people will say. They can see black and white but they don't seem to notice the grey...

What about Glenn Frey: Here's to Your Life? (Combining the titles of Here's to Life and It's Your Life)

I like the "an Eagles has flown".

Prompted by Bernie, I listened to "Most of Us Are Sad".

    Most of us are sad
    No one lets it show
    I've been shadows of myself
    How was I to know?

    Tell me, scarlet sun
    What will time allow?
We have brought our children here
    Who can save them now?

    Weeping woman, try to smile
    Like the coming dawn
Most of us are sad, it's true
    Still, we must go on

    Love was here today
    Oh, the sun was bright
I will sing you far away
    Love is here tonight

    Most of us are sad
    No one lets it show
    I've been shadows of myself
    How was I to know?

    Bernie's right, it is comforting.

I got that too. They don't mean it. They just have not experienced something like this so they cannot relate.

I was watching HOTE again on Showtime last night and all of a sudden, I got emotional when they played Wasted Time to end Part 1. It hit me that its the end. They use that song in the documentary to end that era when they broke up in 1980. Now we end this era, but forever.

I now can't even listen to Desperado now because knowing that was the last song of the show, we won't be hearing that anymore. Plus learning Glenn playing piano on that song.

Then VH1 Classic played back to back songs by Glenn or the Eagles. I don't know if it continue after the commercial. Since I had to head out the door to head to work, I record the rest just in case they playmore videos.

I got an email alert from spotify that said No Fun Aloud by Glenn Frey is now available. It's the only album of his solo career that wasn't on there previously. I'm happy that it is available now, but there's no way that I can listen to it.

Yes, I'd rather my tax dollars went to care for sweet Randy than some dubious deal with Iran.

Your post just made me realize: the Beach Boys used the moniker "America's band" for years and years. But the Eagles have quietly inherited this mantle it seems, and it fits them well (though their appeal is international of course).

I wonder if it's time for a separate thread for eulogies or "remembering the life of" writings. I know that this thread could become that but I'm not sure I'll ever want to start at the beginning and read through everyone's first reactions - that's too raw. However, I think a place where people could reflect on what Glenn means to them and repost what has been said by the many people who have known and worked with him over the decades would provide comfort and inspiration. Even if there's duplication, so what?

In simple terms, it's the difference between mourning the death and celebrating the life.

UTW, this reminds me of a rich New Orleans' tradition called the "Second Line." After a jazz funeral for one of the greats, the mood of the music played by the accompanying brass band becomes more raucous and upbeat so the followers in the procession can celebrate the life and their love of the deceased.

I think a "Second Line" for Glenn is a great idea.
