I thought about having an Eagles themed tree! Little pics of the guys with tinsel around them and musical instruments. Maybe a pic of Will with wings and a halo for the top!! Probably won't find the time to make them though.
Don't think my mum would be very impressed - but as I go to my parents house for Christmas rather than them coming here it wouldn't matter anyway.
You're all very organsied with your Christmas decorations, and they all look lovely. I haven't done mine yet.
Nice, you've been very busy today and I appreciate all you've done.Originally Posted by thelongrun

So if you see me walking all alone, don't look back. I'm just on my way back home.
NB: I think the first post in this thread was by thelongrun & I accidentally merged it with pueblo's reply while trying to move it to the Christmas thread. Apologies to both of you.
Favorite Holiday Movies / Lines:
1) It's A Wonderful Life -- Little Zu Zu: "Teacher says, everytime a bell rings an angel gets his wings".
2) Miracle on 34th Street -- Susan to Santa: "You're just a nice old man with whiskers".
3) A Christmas Story -- Mother to Ralphie: "You'll shoot your eye out".
I can't come up with three off the top of my head, but It's a Wonderful Life is also my favorite Christmas movie. My favorite quote from it is when Clarence says to George, "Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole." So true!
I don't tend to do Christmas movies! Anyway with Santa promising to bring Laura the Harry Potter series on DVD I can't see myself taking the TV on Christmas Day. If I was to watch a movie of choice on Christmas Day, I'd go dor Gone With The Wind or Dr Zhivago.
However if I do get the DVD player to myself I'd run with HFO or F1!
'I must be leaving soon... its your world now'
Glenn Frey 1948-2016 RIP
I probably shouldn't do this one but it is by far my favorite-----I laugh hysterically every time I see this part in the movie.
From National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when Clark says:
"Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-*ss, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey sh** he is! Hallelujah! Holy sh**! Where's the Tylenol"
And who HASN'T said this one when you've heard a bell ring?
From It's A Wonderful Life:
"Teacher says, every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings". Awwww.....
He sings it high, he plays it low
