The reason my photos have titles like that is so I can find them. If you name them after cities you know where they are. I was more specific with the Atlanta photos because I had other photos which were just called 'Atlanta'. This, for instance:

I have naming conventions for all the photos I upload - the name of who's in them, first initial last name (GFrey, DHenley, etc) and then it varies - for live shots, it's usually location and date and number if there are more than one (GFreyAtlanta2010-01) preceded by the photographer if I know them (GFreyJessAtlanta2010-01) or something like that. if I get it from a magazine, tourbook, songbook etc I indicate that usually - GFreyLROOETB01).

However, when it's a photo where I can't identify where it was taken or where it originated, I do sometimes name them special stuff.

Memories! I was at that Walden Woods show. My seat was at about that angle, only several rows farther back. It's the closest I've been yet to seeing the Eagles live. Maybe next year!

Great pics, Dreamer!

I posted about the Walden Woods show in one of the "Cheap Talk and Wine" threads back during the summer. Here's what I wrote:

"I've never been fortunate enough to see the Eagles live in their entirety. I didn't start liking them until 1980, so no shows there and I was too young anyway. And more recently, whenever they were in the area, I either didn't hear about it until later or couldn't afford to go.

I've seen a couple of Henley shows though, and the last one gave me the biggest Eagles-thrill of my life. It was April 24, 1990 and Don was doing his first concert for Walden Woods in Worcester, MA. Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Buffett and Bob Seger were there, but as far as we knew, this was the bill. No other "special guests" had been announced, to our knowledge.

Toward the end of the show though, Don introduced some additional "friends" - Timothy B. Schmit and Glenn Frey. I screamed! I cried! It was a dream come true. I never imagined that I'd EVER see Don and Glenn playing together again. After all, the Eagles had been apart for 10 years! And having Timothy too was icing on the cake. Glenn played "Smuggler's Blues" and to be absolutely honest, besides "Desperado" and "Hotel California", I could not have told you what the setlist was until seeing it on fan sites recently. I was that blown away. My boyfriend had to drive home because I was literally shaking with excitement.

I still hope to someday see the whole band, but even if I don't, that night will always be something special."


Oh and this is good - over Christmas, I found out that my brother and his wife went to see one of the stadium shows in Foxboro, MA with Keith Urban and the Dixie Chicks a couple of years ago. WHAT?!! I didn't even know my brother LIKED the Eagles! Once more, days late or dollars short.

That's it. The saving starts now for a 2012 show, college payments or not! My husband has already been warned!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think his name is Roberto Chavira. He is the drums/percussion tech & he occasionally plays percussion (not drums). If you look closely you will see he is behind the congas.

That was at a function to honour them in England, and for whatever reason, he did not attend. There was a rumour that he played golf instead, but nobody knows. He doesn't attend many of these things.

If I recall correctly, the "he must have been out playing golf" statement was not really a rumor so much as a snarky comment made by those who felt he was shirking his duties. Of course the assumption is that all the other Eagles nobly stepped up to the plate and did their duty but the selfish, irresponsible truant Glenn blew it off to go have fun. And the evidence for this is....?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I actually think it's unusual for three out of four Eagles to make an appearance together. Usually it's one or two Eagles at an appearance, or all four Eagles. Three out of four Eagles at an appearance makes the missing Eagle too noticeable (as our conversation demonstrates), so they probably try to avoid that. If so, that would imply that this was not planned and something came up that forced him to miss it.

However, as we'll never know, it's fruitless to speculate; all I can say is that I imagine he had a very good reason for missing it.

That's what I thought, but it sure doesn't look anything like him to me. I don't ever recall Elton's hair being that dark, but I guess I must've missed something along the way or it could just be the lighting. :shrug:

I appreciate all the kind words and I REALLY appreciate the hot pictures posted. :smitten:

It means the world to me to have a group of like-minded, hard-core Eagles fans with whom I can anticipate, commisserate, debate and celebrate all things Eagle or any other topic that makes its way to the board. I'm extremely glad I found my way to the Border and I'm thankful for the friendships I've made here.

I'm looking forward to another 1,000 posts and meeting more of my "peeps" in person!! :nod:

Now that I see these pictures I think that I have see an extremely poor quality video of one song from that show. I think that it was Tequila Sunrise. I'll search the videos on my old PC to see if I can find it.

I think I know what you're talking about re: Tequila Sunrise. It was ABC In Concert and was done around the same time, but Glenn is wearing an ugly pink patterned top rather than blue. Despite that, it's a great version of Tequila Sunrise.

When I think back on it, it seems like a really good dream! Especially when you consider that I went to see Alan Jackson in the midst of all the other concerts. I usually go on an annual beach trip in May and I elected not to do that this year for a lot of reasons, and I'm so glad I decided last November to not do that...it meant I was free to do these concerts. Believe me, I don't take all this for granted. Also, considering some family events that happened, all these concerts and meeting new people and going new places helped take my mind off a few things.

LP, you are too sweet with your words. HH and I should have warned you, we're only that the nice the first time you meet us!! :grin: It was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again...

This is a bit off topic for this thread but I just wanted to say that I love your signature Troubadour. I love Gram Parsons music and his amazing voice. He was a good looking guy too. Such a shame he died so young. The world lost a great talent.

Wow - what a milestone! First of all, thank you for all you do to make this community possible for all of us Eagles-lovin' folks!

It's hard to believe that this board has been around for almost 7 years now. You just reached 20K posts and you are almost at 20 Eagles concerts as well. If I counted correctly, you are coming up on #19 next weekend. You may just have to get a ticket for Sunday night after all so you can make it an even 20. :grin: But then again, it may be better to wait to make your 20th show be the kickoff to the Eagles 40th Anniversary Tour. Oh - the tough decisions we have to make as Eagles fans. :lol:

Of course, you and I have had so many excellent Eagles adventures together, starting in Sacramento, 2005 - your very first Eagles show. And here we are again, about to hook up in Atlantic City next weekend for another excellent adventure. I was actually surprised when I counted that you and I have only been to 4 Eagles shows together - Sacramento, CMAs, Hard Rock Park, and Louisville. But, I've lost track of all of our other Eagles-related escapades. I cherish your friendship and look forward continuing our journey! :thumbsup:
