The first time I heard You Are Not Alone, I found it very moving; the stripped-down, straightforward nature of the song calls attention to the stark simplicity of its emotional honesty. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for it.

This has been the hardest round of survivor yet!

I have thought long and hard about this and i love both Do Something and You Are Not Alone. Do Something is fabulous Timothy song which has always been a fav, his voice is so soothing and knowing how kind timothy is; it really comes through in this song. You are not Alone is also a very important song to me. This is the song that helped me through the time after my accident and to have spoken with glenn about that and the song... it just makes the song all the more special to me. Therefore i can't vote for either of these songs. So.....

Ohhhh noooo, not Waiting in the Weeds! :fainted: IMO, that's the best song on the album...the music, the lyrics, the vocals...I love all of it! The first time I heard it on the CD, I cried because it was so beautiful and meaningful. Now I just play it over and over.

Also feel very strongly about What Do I Do With My Heart. That song has one of the most exciting last verses when Glenn and Don do the split vocals--I absolutely love that!

Is everyone holding out to see what others do? I can't believe I am going to type these next sentences, but here I go... As much as I love the beautifully inspirational You Are Not Alone, I love What Do I Do With My Heart even more. I know some people think it has a boy band sound, but I don't agree. There is no boy band ever that can match Glenn and Don's mature, yearning vocals in this song, IMHO. It is more of a collaborative effort than YANA, and for that reason alone, I think it wins out. Therefore, I urge everyone to form a coalition to save WDIDWMH, and vote for You Are Not Alone. :fainted:

I just want to comment about NMCD. I regard it as 'my' song as I was one of the first people to see it performed live, and of course to date it remains the ONLY song from the album I have seen performed live.

Without getting too much into it, the high note in 'days' before 'make you wanna cry' and 'are coming to an end' give me chills, and the vulnerability and depth of feeling in 'you don't have to be afraid' (plus another high note there) is exquisite.

I want to put in a plug for NMCD too. As I've posted before, the only problem I have with the song is it's too short! Hubby and I have both always agreed that there should have been a sax solo in the middle of the song as well as at the end. To be honest, I didn't care that much for Somebody, UNTIL I saw it live!!! WOW!! Love it live!! Glenn rocks on it live. So in an effort to save it, and since WDIDWMH is immune, which I feel is the weakest song left, I must vote for

I would agree too! After seeing Glenn doing 'Somebody' live un London earlier this year I could never vote it off! It is one of those songs that really comes into its own live! It was spinechilling!
Although I feel it may be too late to save it i'll go with Sodas coalition and vote for 'Long Road out of Eden'.

Well, I gotta vote Long Road Out Of Eden. I like both it and Somebody, but long road (even though it's got some great lines in it and ya GOTTA love the guitar solos) drags a bit..

I really love all the remaining songs and the next rounds are going to be tough. I don't feel WDIDWMH stands up to the rest. There's no way I can vote out LROOE yet, I feel it is nearly as much of a masterpiece as WITW.

Therefore, I cast my vote for a song the band didn't write, as much as I love it, How Long. And I love it being the opener for the concerts.

I find WDIDWMH and Somebody very hard to split. I may have made the wrong song immune. But its the duet that swayed it. The two of them singing their hearts out to each other. When will they sing it live?! Having said that I would hope Somebody won't go yet.

FP, NO question you made the right immunity call!! IMO That last verse of WDIDWMH, as I've said before, is SO exciting with the split vocals...I could just listen to that part over and over.

Another HO...LROOE live definitely tops Somebody by a long shot; true of the album cuts as well. It's not too late to keep LROOE in the game for awhile longer!!

Well - I'm going to break my normal habit and vote earlier than usual. I love all the remaining songs, and IMHO, the top five songs are exactly as they should be. The only thing left to determine is the final order that they will finish. Since this is going to be such a close round, I hope everyone that has been playing will vote this time. Now, I have to choose between two excellent songs in LROOE and Somebody, so in keeping true to my general preference for up tempo songs ...
