Just watched the video of Glenn singing Desperado with the Little River Band in 1988. The eyelashes are gorgeous at the beginning, but look at the muscles all the way through :smitten: :heybaby: :fainted: !!!!!!

Wanted to comment on this... oh yes.... the eyelashes aren't the only thing goin' on there! Too bad you have to wait until 2:00 in before those Little River Band guys step out of the way and you have a full view of that tight almost see-through shirt that shows those muscles off very nicely...

Ahem. ANYWAY!

Yes, FP is very lucky as his stint in Australia with the LRB were his only live performances in the late 80s, I believe. The photos she took are some of the only ones in public circulation of him performing during that time period (not counting screenshots).

Great screenshots Troub and Koala! Very very anxious to check out Peoria. I also received mine yesterday and am debating if I want to wait till Friday night or take a sneak peek at it before hand. When it came, Larry asked what it was and I told him that we were having another video and chat party on Friday night. I told him I could watch it before and then just join in on the chat so he wouldn't have to watch it Friday night. He said he doesn't mind watching it but reminded me that we are hitting the road about 4 am Saturday morning for Bloomington so I can't be up all night chatting with the "Borderers". :hilarious: He actually used the word Borderers! :hilarious: You guys don't think I talk much about you and the board? He's so tolerant of us! :thumbsup:

I had to watch Peoria several times while checking the DVDs for everybody. It didn't hurt. Of course, that excitement of shared discovery when you watch it for the first time with fellow fans is great, too! Guess that wasn't much help. :lol:

Koala - sometimes the guy films off the screens, sometimes he films the stage. If he gets a certain angle of the screens, they look black and white. However, the show is in color. (Peoria is a concert bootleg from 2004 that I shipped out to people who requested it for the video chat.)

Yes, Willie, Larry is very understanding. I think he'll enjoy Peoria too - although perhaps not as much as we will. ;)

I just thought it was reversed because PLS and I were talking about it and we were thinking that as a left-handed man, he would hold his cigarette in his left hand.

I just figured it might look "wrong" because we were accustomed to it the other way (I've only just recently reversed it).

Actually, I think this was taken around 1990 (although I have it in the Strange Weather gallery which technically starts at 1991. Perhaps I should move that back a year).

They didn't use recent photos for that CD for whatever reason. Look how skinny Glenn is in the photo you especially like. That was probably just after his health problems that caused him to lose a lot of weight and much of the bulk from the "Livin' Right" days; I believe his first surgery for diverticulitis was in late 1989 or early 1990 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Photos from around that time show him to be very thin.

He was very thin in the late 70s and then, apparently after I saw him in 1988. While he looked OK during the Wiseguy/SW/SOS period it was pretty amazing to see him when the band reformed.

I know this probably sounds strange, but I am just captivated by that man's HAIR! Well, that's one of the things I'm captivated by but for the sake of a short post I'll stick with that. ;) He has an absolute HEADFULL of it! It looks so thick and for some reason that just mesmorizes me! How weird am I? LOL I mean the other guys all have hair obviously but Don's is definently thinning and Joe and Tim both have plenty but you can tell it's thinning out a bit or receding a bit on top. Many of you know this already, This pic below is my all time favorite pic of Glenn. For me, it's the best of everything gorgeous about him (minus the guitar). Jess, I agree with you about that Nokia picture of Glenn - it is absolutely gorgeous, and you can't even see one of his most attractive features - 'eyelashes'. WOW - just WOW!!!

I've been looking at it all week. I hope that fans of the other Eagles agree that it is a fairly striking photo.

So,what would have happened if I had gone the other way (with Don)? I can tell you that I doubt I would have had the three year hiatus from 1991-1993. Don was at his most visible then. But my choice was conscious. It was about who appealed to me on the most basic level - starting with his voice, of course. His voice always came first. Once I saw the photo I just went back and thought about that.

(NB: I will try and post photos throughout the day. I may not be back here until Tuesday as we have a holiday weekend).

I will just make a personal comment here. I lost my father at the end of 1987. In the first few months of 1988 when I heard about Glenn working with LRB, it did me the world of good - he managed to lift my spirits. I am grateful to him for that.

But... please forgive me... because I've gotta go back there one more time. Since the original is so small, I decided I would try to blow up our "scruffy" photo as far as I could without a overly noticeable degradation of quality. Here's the result:
