Kinda cool to think that from this came a timeless hit.....

I'm guessing it helped pay the bills!

That is way cool! It's like a sneak peak into the past.

BB.. Seriously cool! Where'd you get that? It's like a little bit of R&R/Eagles history.

a young guy (like 17) I know was recording it and he contacted me for information about the song (he thought it was peaceful easy feelings... I was having Morris Albert wretchings at his first try) and so, I wrote down what I remembered... but then.....

I went over to Jack Tempchin's website (http://www.peacefuleasyfeeling.com/) and he's got it there...

He has lots of cool stuff there... it sounds like he has a hot band now too!

We all love Peaceful and Already Gone... but, you might also love "Slow Dancin' (Swayin to the music)" which he also wrote.....

That is way cool! It almost gives me an eerie feeling, too. Strange. Thanks for sharing that!

I love it. It's like getting a peek into his mind! Nowadays all songwriters do when they decide to change something is hit "delete." Too bad, because this kind of thing is fascinating.

I have a couple of Jack's albums. One of his songs I really like is "I'm Daddy Now."

For some reason he doesn't seem to want to re-issue his first LP as a CD and sell it. It's a shame, because I would like to hear it, and I can't find the LP anywhere.

P.S. I love that this sheet was also used to figure up housing expenses! Dang, a heater for $3!!

I think he doesn't have the rights to do it and can't or won't pay for them... America has some of the same problems... Andrew Gold (Linda Ronstadt's old bandleader) was re recording all the parts (he can play anything) so they could issue some things... the legal side of that stuff can be really frustrating...

I think I have that Jack album on vinyl, I just need to convert it...

there are a ton of old, cool albums that people would love if they had access to them...

Bender, if you convert that album to CD, I would be interested.

It is a shame when legal matters get in the way of people enjoying music!

That is cool that you have that copy of Jack's first album, bender. And as for those lyrics for Peaceful Easying Feeling, I am fascinated by such stuff. As Soda said, I wonder if artists today preserve any of their 'thoughts'? I'm not 100% positive, but I believe this paper of Jack's is on display in the Eagles' exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I remember there were lyrics for two songs, but I don't remember which ones. I'm fairly certain this is one of them though. I seem to recall thinking that the other one was in Glenn's handwriting, but I can't say for sure.

As a matter of fact, I may post a link to this thread over in that thread.

I think a lot of songwriters still write on paper. sure they type them up but, it is an old adage that you know it is a good song when you can play it with just a flattop guitar or an old piano and your voice and you can hear it all..

paper is just so good for some stuff... I have saved tons of that stuff over the years and I love to look at it now...

One of Linda Ronstadt's records has lyric sheets handwritten by each of the authors... it is pretty cool to see Dolly Parton's handwriting on I will always love you.... and JD's on Silver Blue...

If you guys like this stuff... I'll work on some 'time machine' threads to share some of what I remember and know...

I have quite a few board recordings from back then for some different bands from that sound and era....

I remember that Glenn said on the British "One" show interview where he & Joe were promoting LROOE that he has never typed a lyric. He said that there was someting special about "taking pen in hand".

Sorry I couldn't find a link to it. I know that I have it saved on my PC but not on the laptop that I am on right now.
