Joe givin it the finger. I love that point in LROOE. That song so rocked last night. That was one of the reasons I went, I just had to hear it live one more time. Those chords are so powerful, you can physically feel it pass thru you. The stadium's sound system was set perfectly for real rock, heavy in the bass and drums. Then Joe and Steu's guitars come screaming through, with those wonderful lyrocks. Just lovely....
Joe didn't really do a lot of guitar faces till towards the end of the second set. He pretty much had his head down, diggin' deep, working hard. He did a great job.

That is his J. Backlund guitar. Bruce makes custom guitars for people and the metal reflectors and everything really looks like his guitar design. In Indianapolis I really noticed several of Joe's guitars, probably because he was right in front of me! They're really pretty, especially the platinum colored one. I wish I had some pictures. He also played a brown one and a tan one that were really pretty. (Sorry with all the "prettys" but that's about as far as my guitar knowledge goes.)

As far as the jacket, it looks like the same one he wore in Indy, with the same Ramones t-shirt underneath - the same jacket Don walked over to, fingered the sleeve and called "spiffy" :hilarious:

:hilarious: I'm betting the brown one was his Carvin DC6 and the tan one was his Custom Shop Fender Strat. I think I've seen pics of them before. I like to stop in this thread to see what guitars Joe is playing nowadays, and try to keep up to date on all of them. He has lots of them on the road, I've heard 30 total.

Here's the top of the Carvin. That 12 string is beautiful and the sound's amazing. Last year I was lucky enough to be 2nd row right in front of joe and could hear it ring thru the air. wonderful guitar

The one in the upper left hand is a Fender Eric Clapton model Strat, the one in the upper right is a Ernie Ball Musicman Luke Steve Lukather model, the lower left is the Gibson 12-string, and the lower right is a Carvin but not a DC6. At first I thought it was a PRS because their headstocks are very similar. He has a Carvin DC6 in the same finish. The first time I saw him with a DC6 was the Lupus Gala photos but it was his Sunburst one, not the brown one.

It's a Fender of some sort according to the headstock. I've actually not ever seen or heard of these before but it looks like a Strat-style guitar.

That's from the "Rock n' Roll Fantasy Camp". It's basically where you pay LOTS of money (from what I've read) in order to jam with celebrity players. They've had lots of people on there from Joe to Paul Stanley to Jack Bruce. There is a video on YouTube of Joe playing "Life in the Fast Lane" with some of the "campers" playing that exact guitar, which is a PRS 513.

I like this one a lot - it's see through. I believe (might be wrong though) this is a Dan Armstrong guitar. I've seen Joe Perry from Aerosmith and Ronnie Wood from the Stones play slide on one too, so it must be a good slide guitar.

Darn! :( I'm running a Mac with Google Chrome browser. I still have to right click every pic. I think it might be Getty's webmaster made it that way. Sometimes they don't want you to post their pics and so you have to open it on their site (right click) to see it. It didn't use to be that way but I know sites can do that to where they won't load on other sites.

I really like that guitar. I've actually thought about getting one myself. It's a PRS Mira. I love that particular finish but unfortunately PRS doesn't offer it anymore.

I'm not seeing the images either but I went back and looked at the code - what's being posted is not the image file itself but rather code from Getty. That's why we can't see it. In order for us to see it, it has to be the .jpg file itself that's posted.

Probably, Getty designed it so that when you right-click on their photos, you get the code. It also prevents "hotlinking" or linking to a URL on another site rather than uploading the image onto Photobucket or a site like that.

I'm not sure why the photos are loading for some and not others, though!

That is his Duesenberg Starplayer TV. One of the guitars on my list to get in the future. Very nice guitars. They look very similar to a Gretsch.

This pic is from the Strat Pack concert. It was an anniversary of the Fender Strat. Joe plays a few songs on it (Life in the Fast Lane, Life's Been Good, Rocky Mountain Way, and Funk #49 if I remember right) and then jams at the end with all of the guys on the DVD.

Yeah I bought the Strat Pack DVD just to watch Joe's set! :D Gary Moore was my 2nd favorite from that DVD.

As far as a Fender JW signature guitar, I would buy it in a heartbeat but I don't know if that will happen or not. He's got a lot of guitars from a lot of companies so I don't know if they would do a signature but I think they should.

And, if you go to that link and look under "Artists" and scroll down to Joe Walsh, there are some pictures posted there that you may or may not have seen before.

Both Joe and Glenn have Duesenberg's. Joe always uses his white pearl one on "Life's Been Good". I really like those Duesenberg's. Ronnie Wood, Mike Campbell, and Bob Dylan are also all playing that same model (Starplayer TV). I've thought about getting one before but they are very cashy.

I didn't catch that though about the site it redirects to! Good catch!

That Tacoma baritone....I have played a "normal" Tacoma and absolutely loved the tone. The only reason I didn't buy it was that I had a chance to pick up a Seagull S6 with a hardshell case for under $300 from a guy who had just "moved up" to a Gallagher. He was really trying to sell me a Taylor that was top of the line for $1100. He had stepped on the neck in a drunken stupor one night and had sent the Taylor back to the custom shop and had it replaced and you really couldn't tell that it had ever been mishandled...but he KNEW it and just couldn't abide it. He had the money...owns a chain of restaurants in Little Rock.

I couldn't afford the Taylor and to be honest, didn't like it's tone or feel as much as the Seagull. I liked the tone of the Tacoma better, but it just didn't have the volume that the Seagull has and the Seagull was about $400 cheaper <LOL>

But if now I had the chance, I'd jump all over that Tacoma. They shut their Oregon factory down and were bought out by Fender I think and as far as I know, they are not being made any more. A real shame. Great guitars.

Yeah Tacoma's are great! I played one, one time at a guitar store and it played very smoothly.

I think if you played the "right" Taylor for you, you would like one. I'm not a fan of a deep acoustic sound bassy sound, I like a brighter janglier acoustic sound so I go for smaller acoustics, and the Taylor 414ce is "it" for me. I'm going to get a mate to it next year, the same woods and color but in a 12-string version, the 454ce. I tend to like acoustics with more top end than bottom end. I find the Elixir Medium strings work best on my Taylor, but for all of my other acoustics I find Martin strings to work best.

I played the top of the line Taylor and didn't like it as well as the cheaper 414! No joke, I really thought the 414 was the best of the Taylor's.

Funny about that Rides Again album cover shot. Joe never had any desire for a motorcycle...doesn't like them. But he thought it would be a cool shot. The Gang was friendly with a local outlaw biker gang back then and if I remember correctly, they were actually living with them. They borrowed the bikes for the pose. They didn't ride them <LOL>

That's his custom guitar made by John Backlund. It has EMG pickups in it, so it's got more output than a regular humbucking electric guitar pickup.

I wonder if Joe or any of the other guys even realize that today is a special day in the band's history. I think the addition of Joe to the Eagles' lineup ended up being a great move for all parties involved! :applause:
