I'm surprised to see Timothy with a cigarette. The beer is no shock. I think everybody smoked in the 70's. I know I've seen pics of some of the other guys with cigarettes. I'm pretty sure Tim doesn't smoke anymore because his voice would never have held up the way it has if he did.
I still think it's a cute picture of him.

I must have copied it from another post of someone else's Photobucket who later deleted it. I never delete pictures from Photobucket for this very reason. Yes, and this is also why I strongly encourage people to upload photos they post into their own photobucket or flickr account rather than just copying it from someone else's. It may be an extra step, but it's the only way to guarantee that one day, you don't go back and find the photos you posted are now a big ugly white box or worse!

That's what I thought, too. The collar's standing up, so it reaches high, and it's not stiff, so it 'waves' a little.

The "scolding" picture is from London a couple years ago. Lou (Troubador) went to the concert and waited outside the door for him afterward. He handed out some picks and the 2 he has in his hand are the ones he gave her (you can see her shoulder, she's the one with the curly hair) of which she sent 1 to me along with some pictures and her ticket stub. They are all now beautifully framed together. Bless her heart!!! He isn't really scolding, he's teasing tell everyone that they can't keep the pics to themselves but need to share. :lol:

The "scolding" picture is from London a couple years ago. Lou (Troubador) went to the concert and waited outside the door for him afterward. He handed out some picks and the 2 he has in his hand are the ones he gave her (you can see her shoulder, she's the one with the curly hair) of which she sent 1 to me along with some pictures and her ticket stub. They are all now beautifully framed together. Bless her heart!!! He isn't really scolding, he's teasing tell everyone that they can't keep the pics to themselves but need to share. :lol:

I think it really depends on how rushed he is. I've seen 3 of his solo shows. After his very first show in LA he was in the lobby for quite awhile, I was able to meet him, get his autograph and a picture with him. But that was after his very first solo show and I think he was really excited about the whole thing and wanted to mingle with fans. The 2nd show in San Francisco I never saw him after the show. And in Santa Cruz last Dec. he flew out of there like his pants were on fire. Didn't talk to anyone, if you blinked you missed him. Just hang around after his shows and you might get lucky....you never know.

Oh no....I must be sick because I'm sitting here laughing...poor honey...I can just see it happening...my dog would do the same thing...in fact he has nipped at me a few times when I've tried to get some food away from him!...As a nurse I'm trying to imagine what the ER would be like when he walks in...the nurses fighting over who gets to take care of him...I'd be thinking " all the hell of nursing school is now worth it"...and I'd probably get a scolding from the supervisor..."nurse Brenda, you're not supposed to really kiss patient's boos to make them better"..."Oh sorry, I lost my head"...:laugh:

BB King's is very organized, strict, & structured. It is all planned out carefully. It's a real tourist trap, so I am not expecting to get too close to TBS. The venue is small, but lots of security, & big ol' body guards around!!LOL. If he does a meet & greet, I will be happily surprised. You never know. I got a really cool hand out card when I went for my tickets, & on the back side was Lindsey Buckingham....who is appearing there on June 4 and 5th!! A 2 for 1 card! :razz:

I saw him at Cadogan Hall in London, which is a fairly intimate venue that backs out onto a relatively quiet street. I hadn't necessarily planned to hang around, but I noticed a small group of people around the stage door, so I thought I might as well wait for a few minutes. Very soon after, Tim emerged. (If I remember rightly, Jean came out first and got straight into the car that was waiting.) Tim did seem a little rushed and did say "I'm sorry, I really have to go", so I assume he either had a flight or a prior commitment, but he still made time to say hello, hand out some picks and speak a bit of French to the fans who had come from France to see him! It really is just down to luck, but I'd say it's always worth hanging around a little to suss out the situation... I did this at the Crosby, Stills & Nash show at the Royal Albert Hall and it paid off! But there are definitely other shows (like the Don solo shows I went to in America) where we were told "No one is allowed within fifteen feet of him." There was literally nowhere to wait for him. Some of that is to do with the actual venue, though... It really just depends on the night! I would definitely encourage you to hang around though, if you see a few other people doing it. You might just get lucky!

As for security, I think sometimes we imagine that it is tighter than it really is. Tim wasn't surrounded by security or anything - neither were Graham Nash or Stephen Stills. At the James Taylor concert, I was amazed when he just came and sat on the edge of the stage in the interval to meet audience members, with no security in sight! I have huge respect for artists who are so accessible. I know they have to be careful in some ways, but I think often, if they are relaxed and casual, the fans will be less hysterical and just treat them in the same way, you know?

Thanks Willie for posting the links to the thread from the Timothy concerts. I think I had read some of them when I first joined The Border because I was so upset that I didn't know about the Bitter End Show.
I am really looking forward to seeing my first solo Timothy show, as I also I been a fan of his since his Poco days!!!!
I hope I can get an autograph, or see him up close after the show, but as I said BB King's is a tightly run ship. It's not as loose as the Bitter End, as I have been there a few times. Some bands there actually mingle with the crowd at the bar & out front.
I had only seen Tim off the stage once in NY after a Poco concert where they were out in front of their hotel. I was with my then boyfriend & he was not appreciating my crazy fan girl thing, as he was a hot guitar player himself & he was a little jealous!! He took me to many Poco concerts & put up with my Poco infatuation & gushing over TBS!!!
Anyway, I know I am going to love this show. I just wish that some of The Border fans would be there to share it with me, but I will do my best to report every detail! Even though it's a month away, I'm excitied already

Thanks for (re)posting those links! It was great to read about your experiences and all the emotions that go along with it. That's what I love the most about this forum... everyone is so passionate about their Eagles love! I am already getting very excited even though my show is a week away. It will be my first solo TBS show. I had seen Timothy up close in Poco, but that was ages ago, & those were not solo shows. I remember when I first joined here I had realized that I missed out on the first solo tour he did when his cd came out & I was so upset about that because he had played in NY & I didn't even know about it. Well, I won't be missing him this time & I will be getting there early to get a great spot at the show! The secret is to upload them to Photobucket or something like it and copy the IMG code to the thread, instead of using attachments. It's a real pain in the butt, especially when Photobucket is going slow (screen captures take nano-seconds to upload, but pictures from a camera take FOREVER).

It came today and this picture is on the back of the lyrics, not the picture that was in the CD. The best part is it's album sized. The whole thing couldn't fit on the scanner. I think I will frame this too and put it right next to the album. This is why albums are better than cd's!

My favorite look is Tim in those HFO pictures, stills from the ICTYW video. That one holding the Carvin bass with his eyes closed is just the sexiest shot.

Ok, I have a question: Does anyone know the significance of those bracelets that Tim wears on his left wrist? It seems he has been wearing them since HFO. He still wears them. I was wondering if there is a story behind them, as they must have a very special meaning to him for him to be wearing them for so long?

As for his bracelets, I'm guessing either it's a throwback from the fab 70s, his wife or his kids or a fan gave them to him..just a thought!! He does tend to like sentimentality, he still uses the same boombox to record his new songs on!! ;) (And he's a rebel at heart, probably just a hippie thing he loved back in the day that keeps him grounded) :)

He didn't wear them in the 70's. It looks like he started wearing them around HFO era. I was just wondering if anybody knew the real origin of them or the meaning behind them.

Love my Expando and LROOE albums (and the other 900+ albums in our collection)!!! There's always been something about vinyl that I absolutely love the sound of. Let alone all the great artwork you get with them. :thumbsup: We listen to TONS of vinyl in this house!!
