Hello everyone,

I have a question.. probably it has been asked before on this message board... if so, sorry for that...

Does anyone know where (what location) the photographs for Long Road Out Of Eden are shot?

Which desert was that? :)

Thanks very much!

Rene.

Thanks!

I was thinking about the "Great Sand Dunes" National Park in Colorado.... could that be it?

I would guess Death Valley

I would guess Death Valley

It looks like every photo of the Death Valley dunes I have seen; plus three quarters of the band live in California.

Probably not Death Valley or anywhere further such as Utah, CO or New Mexico. Could be Imperial Valley in Southeastern CA...many movies have been shot there over the years and it's a lot closer to LA than other possibilities.

I remember reading that the location was in California, but I don't remember the exact spot.

Being from SoCal, my first instinct is that it would have been shot in Glamis, CA, where they do all of the dune buggying on the sand dunes. You can Google Image it - I tried to link to the results but it doesn't look like it will work. It is the same distance from LA as Death Valley, but I think with better opportunity for larger, more dramatic dunes.

I googled Glamis because I'd never heard of it. After looking at the Google images it sure does look like a possible location to me. I actually had no idea there were so many possible locations out west with those types of dunes.

oh interesting, I've wondered about that cover photo shooting as because the dunes look African or something like that, glamis makes sense though as I do know about California's partial dessert climate
