EF, thank you for mailing me the sample CDs. I am anxiously awaiting their arrival. If I like what I hear ( I uhmmm ... err ... already like what I see, but PLEASE don't anyone tell Glenn), I'll probably buy the greatest hits CD when it comes out. :D :D

Yep, me too! I have all the songs but when the CD includes new songs it's a must have. :D The are rumors it could be a live CD, that would be great.

Dreamer, I think you will like his music. But let's wait and see.
Meanwhile look what you've missed in Richmond.

Here is one of the reader reaction:

Seen Keith Urban in Concert in Richmond. It was my first concert seeing Keith. Awesome concert. I am now a devoted fan. Just went because my wife wanted to go. Well he blew me away with his singing and hot guitar playing. Hoping he will be touring some where close next year. I live in Charlottesville, VA.

Richmond pics... what a smile.

I especially love the last one. I can't remember I've ever seen a butt like that. 8)

Keith will appear in some TV shows the next time. Here are some of them if you want to watch it. I hope the Keith forum members will tape it and post a download then. They usually do it.
Actually he was supposed to be in Europe for some shows in October, oh well.

BTW, have you already figured out how your DVD recorder works? Just wanted to ask. I don't want to be a pain in the neck but I'm getting a little worried.

Wow, EF, you are definitely up on Keith! Thanks for those show times. I'll try to catch some of them. :D

And yes, I have figured out my dvd recorder! Don't even ask what I was doing wrong! After hubby took everything apart (stereo, tv, vcr, dvd) and checked all the connections, it turned out to be a very minor dvd set up mistake! Needless to say, he wasn't very pleased with me!

Now, when I get the CMA's recorded, how will I get a copy of it? :? Do they make copies of dvd's somewhere?

EasyFeeling
10-12-2007, 11:44 AM
Yep I am because I read on the Canadian message board regularly (but post very rarely, no time for 2 foreign-language boards  ).

A big hug for your hubby that he cleared up the matter. 8)

And now we have another problem... but I'm not sure if I get this right.
I also don't know where the recorder does save the recording. Does it have a harddisk? Or do you have to tape it on DVD?
Or is the problem that you don't have a DVD drive so you are not able to make a copy? :? Confusing, I know.

Brooke

Holy crap - it would have been worth the price of admission just to see that butt! Oh well - I guess I'm spending too much of my time concentrating on the Eagles to keep up with other things. I'll have to do better at the CMA's. Maybe I'll try to catch some of those TV shows. Thanks for posting the times, EF.

You're welcome. :)
I thought at least I could watch the Tonight Show on our European NBC channel (they broadcast the show a few days later) but for some reason they changed the broadcasting hours, now I can watch it only from 5 to 10 am and from then the channel changes over to another one. It's like two channels share one frequency.
Wow, explaining this in English took a while.

Cool. :D :D

Dreamer, I thought you would appreciate this:

In addition to his Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy World tour dates, Keith Urban will be performing at the Better Start Livin' benefit, hosted by pal and collaborator Monty Powell November 28th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. The show, being billed as an intimate acoustic performance, will raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. The initiative's theme, Better Start Livin', signifies the urgency of the mission to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Keith and Monty, who lost his own father to early onset Alzheimer's, wrote in their number-one song "Days Go By," "We think about tomorrow and then it slips away. We talk about forever but we've only got today, so you better start livin' right now."

That is so sweet--I never knew the meaning behind the song "Days Go By." Now I like it even more.

All this Keith talk is reeeeeeally getting me excited about seeing him in person for the first time at the CMAs!

Wow - thanks so much for that, EF. That song will definitely have special meaning for me when I listen to it. I was going to post in this thread this morning anyway to let you know that a little birdie delivered a package to my house yesterday all the way from Germany. I didn't get home until late, so I haven't had time to "preview" anything, but I can't wait to check it out, and thanks again. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Keith was just on and looked fantastic, as usual. He sang Everybody and had on a black button up, short sleeved shirt and jeans. :smitten:

Too bad he didn't win at least one award. In the forum people said he had no chance this time because he was off most of the time from June 2006 to June 2007.

Keith looks gorgeous in his suit but I prefer to see him in jeans and t-shirt. I have to admit Nicole looks very nice in that dress.

I'm really curious for the review of our three lucky girls. 8)

Well - I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post here after the CMA's. Since Keith has such a following here on The Border, I was definitely rooting for him to win some awards (especially Entertainer of the Year), but it was not to be. I did try to get a few pictures of him when he was performing, but I haven't had a chance to check them out to see if they're any good. As we described in the CMA thread, the stage was actually set up as three stages - we got really lucky because both the Eagles and Keith performed on our side of the stage. He sounded and looked great, of course. Unfortunately, being there in person didn't help me get any close up look - I only saw the same thing that you could see on the televised program. I did figure out where he and Nicole were sitting in the audience, and kept my eye on him on and off. But I really couldn't see anything other than them just sitting. Oh well - wish I had more to report, but it was still a blast being there.

EasyFeeling
11-14-2007, 05:00 AM
Oh, that's too bad. If he had won an award you would have seen so much more from him but when he was just sitting in the audience and you were so far away from the stage... no chance I guess. Never mind, thanks Dreamer.

McGraw, Paisley, Turner, Urban Are People's Sexiest Men

Four country artists have been selected for People' Sexiest Men Alive double issue which arrived on newsstands on Wednesday (Nov. 14). The magazine chose Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner and Keith Urban for its annual list. Other celebrities making the list include Matt Damon (on the cover), Patrick Dempsey, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake.

Has anyone already heard the studio version of Got It Right This Time from Keith's Greatest Hits? I love the song and the way he performed it on his tour just with the keyboard but the studio version is sooooooooo much better, it's awesome. :D

I just went to our German board to read the reviews to his Greatest Hits which came out yesterday. People don't like it. They said most of the songs are shortened and sound not as good as the album versions. I wasn't going to buy it anyway and now that I've heard about it I'm glad I didn't. I already have the only 2 "new" songs so there's no need. Dreamer, if you're really going to get it, you better refrain from buying it.

Today I've spent much time on Keith's fan board there's a lot to discuss.

I've seen a few videos when they left a restaurant and Keith had a big grin on his face and both looked very happy. :D

Like Brooke I'm not a big fan of Nicole but he loves her and she changed his life in a good way I think. I've seen many videos in which he talked about her and you could see the love in his face and eyes. I'm always moved to tears. If she's the one who makes him happy it's fine with me.

Keith and Nicole look very happy. I wish her a smooth pregnancy. I have to admit though, it is hard for me to get use to them together. I wasn't even originally going to mention this, but changed my mind when I went back to review my original post and realized I had typed "Tom and Nicole" at the beginning.

And EF, I wanted to let you know that, after all this time, I finally got to watch Keith's DVD in it's entirety. I had watched most of it in little bits at a time, but you don't get the whole concert experience that way. Yesterday afternoon, it snowed here (we only got less than an inch), AND there was no football game on TV, so I talked my SO into watching it with me. Keith puts on an incredible show. He puts so much into his performance that he must be exhausted afterwards. I really enjoyed it and I actually do like a lot of his music. You are right that he doesn't sound hardcare country. And OBTW, and he is VERY hot. Thanks again for sending me all of the Keith stuff.

EasyFeeling
01-20-2008, 01:22 PM
Dreamer, I'm glad you enjoyed Keith and his music. :D He's indeed incredible and one of the most gifted musicians. I hope you haven't missed to watch the soundcheck section in which you can see only him with his guitar for two songs and one song with the audience. That song is called Homespun Love and I didn't care much about it before I had seen him doing it in the soundcheck. That man can play the guitar *sigh*

Yes, I know how you feel about Keith and Nicole, same here. I really don't know what's so special about her. :?
We fans are a bit worried about how he will continue his life as a musician AND father. I think he will do less shows than usual. Not to speak about coming back to Germany.

Ok, that's it...I'm off to watch the DVD again. :D

After watching I'm suffering from serious withdrawals.

Regarding the fragrant Nicole, I am sure I'm not the only Australian who is totally sick of the sight of her. You can't get away from the woman whenever she comes 'home', i.e. favours us lowlifes with her presence. For all I know she may be a very nice woman, but that isn't how she comes across. Australians tend to be a bit dubious about celebrities.

Also if you're ginger, you stay ginger. You don't go blonde. Solidarity, sister. :headscratch:

EasyFeeling

She looked so much better with the red hair, IMO. It's a beautiful color and fits her pale teint.
Yes, she comes across as cold but someone says she's just shy. I can't imagine Keith being together with a woman without humor. She MUST have something we don't see. :?

You put the word home in quotation marks, but she is an Australian, isn't she? Just like Keith. Ok, he's born in NZ but grew up in Australia. I heard him talking about it and he still considers Australia as his real home.

And I agree - Nicole with red hair is best. I love red hair, and can't figure why anyone who has it would want to change it.

I was being sarcastic. She's Australian but only when it suits her.

Good question, Brooke. :? He said almost everytime when he's planning a trip outside of Germany Keith is coming for a show. Yesterday he put up a new thread with the title "Keith Live 2008" with a time period from Sept. 18 to Oct. 9 which is his vacation time but no one knew about that and then he pretended his absence during the tour and complained. That's sick, huh?
People believed it because they didn't spot any hint at his vacation. So they started to look forward and checked their date book. It was clarified today by coincidence. Who knows how long he had played that.

He started the thread two days ago, so after the announcement.
Today he said he assumed we would know that this is just a joke since we all know that Keith is going to be a dad and would not come to Germany for that reason. Damned, of course there will be shows after the delivery, ok, in the USA but that's a stupid excuse. He travels a lot, during the last leg of his tour he took a break every two weeks and travelled to Australia just to see Nicole. How in the world should we know he wouldn't do that again? :?

Keith was playing MSG last week together with Carrie Underwood. While Carrie was changing her outfit several times  Keith put up a great show, as always.
I can't say much about her but read several reviews and press articles in which she didn't get a positive reaction. Many people think it was not a good idea to let them perform in one show. Carrie and Keith fans seem to be quite different because many Carrie fans left the audience before Keith finished his show in Hershey.

I found a review on the NY Post site. Look at the highlighted passage. :D

February 15, 2008 -- SOMETIMES it takes an outsider to shake, rattle and roll the status quo - and that's just what Keith Urban did at his Madison Square Garden debut Wednesday.

At the Garden, Urban forgot he's a country singer from Australia and performed one of the best arena concerts in memory in this city. The music was propulsive, on-your-feet rock presented with staging that was a real audience-pleaser.

Because Urban's albums bow to country power-pop conventions, it was a startling performance that clearly owed its deepest debts to artists such as the Eagles, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.

While the marquee said simply "Keith Urban," the man is less a solo star than a member of a crackerjack six-piece guitar band - and he's the best guitarist in it.

Who knew Urban was such a shredder? In a fantastic midshow display of guitar pyrotechnics, he strung together two dozen of rock's best-known riffs, hopping from Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and landing on Aerosmith's "Walk This Way."

While his voice is good, he isn't the greatest singer on the block, so he stays with his strength in the middle tones. Where he makes up for his narrow range is in the delivery. When he did songs such as "Days Go By," "Used to the Pain" and the concert opener "Once in a Lifetime," he sang with the kind of let-it-rip emotion that left no one doubting he meant what he sang.

That was very noticeable in his love song "Got It Right This Time." The tune was offered as a Valentine's wish to his wife, Nicole Kidman, who was not at this show.

As for the production, Urban worked the house from an onstage catwalk that made even distant seats seem good. He even broke down the wall between himself and the audience by doing "You Look Good in My Shirt" from the seats as the devoted poked, prodded and patted him.

For those who couldn't get up close and personal, all the stage action was projected on a 60-by-40-foot video screen. It was simple, no-effects video, but it was extremely effective in closing the gap between the nosebleed seats and the stage.

Urban may be a country boy by reputation, but at this show he owned New York City.

FP, I know you are not a big fan of her, neither am I and that's not only she's married to Keith. I've read she takes care of herself and amongst other things she cancelled her plan to tour with Keith. Also people told me both were not visible in the audience, just backstage. I don't know because I didn't have the time to watch it, I've only seen the red carpet show so far.

I'm very bummed at the moment. I've decided to go see Keith in April. I've tried all morning to get tickets in Peoria during a special presale and nothing good came up at all. I've heard about these ticket problems from so many people, they tried to get tickets at the presale and only got bad seats and they did much better on the regular sale. So sad I can't give you any tips. Seems it's so much easier to get good tickets in Germany.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Brooke. Don't miss him it's an experience you'll never forget, believe me. :D I so wish I could go with you. :jealous:

There isn't much out there about the last concert, but I found this on the Keith site:

Last night's concert was fantastic, Carrie Underwood did an hour, she's cute, got a great voice. Then Keith Urban came out and did over two hours of concert.

Quite honestly we were shocked! This young man put on one heck of a class act!
He didn't have that brash arrogant attitude like most we've seen. You know - here I am, watch me, and I can't wait to get off the damn stage.

He not only moved off the stage, he had a walk way and small circle at the other end of of the civic center, and during one set, his band had set up their equipment there and he went down and played to the back of the building.

Then he got out into the audience for a song, that was brave with all those women crawling all over him. Don't know what was going on, but this one woman seemed like she was in shock. At the end of his song, he autographed his guitar and gave it to her.

He gave off a warm caring personality, and very talented. Of course my daughter said it was cause he's an Ozzie! Totally different attitude than most of the American performers we've seen.

Really enjoyed our night, including the long drive!

Encouraging, eh? I'm eagerly waiting to hear if you got any tickets. 8) Love the young man comment.

I'm still mad, EF! I was on at the very beginning and the first thing I came up with was Sect. 18 Row 12. I never had a floor seat offered at all and went straight to the bowl! I tried for a half hour and gave up because I had to go run some errands in town (a forty five minute drive).

I will keep checking. Sometimes some new seats get released. But really! Where did all the floor seats go so fast? :x

No, I haven't seen him live. I am so hoping!

Sorry, I haven't had time to get here. It's been an awfully busy weekend! And at work today!

Aaaah, that's too bad, Brooke. I've heard the presale already started on Tuesday last week so I guess most of the good seats were already sold. But mind you Keith will be doing some songs on the mini stage in the middle so I would take a seat in the lower bowl if you don't get a floor seat. It's better than nothing, so keep trying.

How many tickets do you want, only one for you? In case anyone from the boards have a decent spare ticket I could act as a go-between.

Ok, I'm back! And EF, I'm glad to hear from you. I was worried too.

I drove to Peoria, IL (3 hours) by myself to see this gorgeous man and it was worth every minute. I also drove home right afterwards, so I didn't get in bed till 3:04 this morning! I don't know if I can gather my thoughts yet, but for right now: OMG! To put it mildly! He was absolutely fantastic and I had an awesome seat: 3rd row from the front and 4th seat from the catwalk! :fainting:

First things first (this may turn into a marathon, so bear with me!)

I had been checking ticketmaster often and then the last week daily. The day before yesterday the same old thing came up in the morning and then in the afternoon that ticket came up and I knew I was going! Then it was "how do I explain this to hubby?" He knew I wanted to go, but not that seriously. It is impossible for him to take off work during the week, so, I knew if I was going it would be by myself. None of my friends understand my Eagles/Keith obsession. He was a bit concerned for my safety traveling by car so far and at night alone, but I assured him I would be fine and that other gals do this stuff all the time! Right? So, I smoothed it over with him and took off work yesterday at noon and am off till noon today. There may have to be another installment!

My husband worked in Peoria for 2 summers 2 years ago on highway construction, so I spent a lot of weekends there and got to know my way around town. I got in town in time to get a bite to eat, park, and scope out the civic center. Carrie Underwood was opening, so there were lots of her fans there, too. I talked with a few other Keith fans, bought a t-shirt and program, and went in to find my seat at about 7. I really couldn't believe it when I got to it! Wow!

Carrie

She really put on a great show. She came up through the floor for the first song, which was different. She is young and very cute and I thought she did an amazing job. She sang all of her hits, of course, and had several wardrobe changes, which went really fast. She performed about an hour. I will post some pics later.

One thing about the country stars: they don't give a hoot about anyone taking pictures or videos! There were cameras everywhere! Security never said one word! Eagles, are you listening? Ha!

Keith

Again, OMG! I am blown away! His show was just awesome! He sang and played over 2 hours nearly nonstop. He is hot, sexy and very gorgeous! Someone held up a sign behind me that said "NICOLE, YOU ARE 1 LUCKY WOMAN!" They are right!

Sorry,guys. To be continued......

Ooooooooooooooooooooh, Brooke :D :D :D I was hoping to read something about the show when I got home. :D

When I read a post here which is for you I think it's addressed to me.

Brooke
04-23-2008, 04:38 PM
Keith continued:

First of all, the place was chaotic! A railing was set up about 10 feet from the stage and 3 feet from the catwalk. People started piling in in front of the stage before Carrie's set even started. By the time Keith came on, it was packed. The poor front row people either had to get up and stand or be mobbed. Security did nothing other than ask people to not stand on the chairs! Everyone on the floor stood the whole time, except during the break between C &K, which is fine with me. The front row people could not go sit even if they wanted to, as they could see nothing if they did. Me being in the 3rd row was fine. At least it gave you some elbow room as the chairs kept a distance between you and the next row. At least people couldn't come up to the catwalk and squeeze in front of you. All in all, I thought the crowd was very rude and inconsiderate. Different ones would just walk up and try to get past you or stand on a chair in front of you with no scruples!

Ok, more about Keith! He came out and was silhouetted in front of a bright yellow and orange fireball on the screen singing Once In A Lifetime. I love that song! When the spotlight came on he had on dark jeans and a tight, black t-shirt. The shirt had a faint line through it, but not much design. Needless to say, he looked very hot! :smitten:

His hair is pretty short, but layered and streaked. He also was sporting stubble! Very yummy indeed! He looked really good and healthy and happy and was very gracious. He accepted flowers from a couple girls and several baby gifts. A bib, onesie, and a t-shirt. When he got the t-shirt he laughed and said it looked a little small, but he thought he could squeeze in to it! So cute!

He sang and played around 20 songs which took all of 2 hours or more. All the big ones, Where the Blacktop Ends, Everybody, Days Go By, Stupid Boy,Raining on Sunday, , I Told You So,Got It Right This Time, and more, including one of my favorites, Shine.

I tell you, he is a wonderfully talented musician. He is just tireless! He was all over the stage and up and down the catwalk. He also played piano on a couple songs. The whole band went to the end of the catwalk on a round stage and did 3 or 4 songs there for the back area. The set up was really cool and there was a giant screen behind the stage, actually the size of the stage!

4 people managed to actually get up on the catwalk. First a drunken guy walked to the round stage playing air guitar when security finally drug him off. Keith thought it was hilarious as he was singing center stage. As her was walking and playing on the catwalk, he noticed a young girl with a sign that said something about it being her birthday and he actually had her pulled up on stage and he talked with her and hugged her and had the security guy take a pic of her and him with his arms wrapped around her! I was so wishing it were me! Later two more older girls got up on stage and headed for him center stage. The first one actually made it up to him, camera in hand, and asked for a picture while he was singing and playing! He laughed and had his bouncer take the pic, then escort the girl off. Another girl tried it, but got took off sooner! I couldn't believe how bold these people were! And that security allowed it to happen! Keith really took it well and just continued to sing and play brush it off. A little boy around 7 or 8 brought a small guitar in to the row I was in and we let him stand by the catwalk when Keith walked by and he finally stopped and signed it for him. He signed a few autographs and threw out picks during the show too. No, I didn't get anything! :(

During You Look Good in My Shirt, he went up into the lower bowl and sat down amidst people and sang with a guitar. I guess he actually gave the guitar to a lady there. I didn't see her with it, but he does it all the time, they say. He slapped hands along the way in and out of the crowd with his body guards following and leading all the way.

He also played a medley of several rock songs which included Funk 49 and Smoke on the Water.

If you get the chance to go see him, DO IT! He's awesome and very easy on the eyes! :inlove:

I'll try to get my pics up tonight, if I can stay awake long enough!

Dang! That sounds like quite a show! I can't believe those girls were not only allowed onstage, but that Keith agreed to take photos with them in the middle of the song. That seems almost TOO fan-friendly! But the rest of it was totally awesome - him coming among the crowd, giving away the guitar, playing for the back, bringing up the birthday girl - I hope no dishonest Keith fans are gonna hold birthday signs in the future, lol. Terrific!

Thanks for the review!

Lovely pics as well!

That definitely does NOT describe my SO, but I was already rather "well traveled" when we got together, so he knows that I will hop on a plane or car and take a trip without blinking an eye.

That is an awesome concert experience Brooke. I was tempted to go see Keith when he played in my area a while back, but I decided all my monies had to be designated for Eagles-related activities for a while. Maybe I will go whenever he comes back around my area. It sounds like he is quite an entertainer. I love how the fans were giving him baby gifts. But for right now, it's all Eagles, all the time for me.

Thanks for the awesome pics.

Thank you for your fantastic review. He's always so friendly to his fans even if he has to sign something during a song. He just does not want to disappoint his fans. Among others this is why I love him so much. Always ready to satisfy the audience in every way. 8)
But I'm sorry to hear about the rude crowd. Good that you had such a good seat.

Another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnTu0Eo5ni0

On the chaos at the concert, I guess Keith likes the concerts to be wild and crazy and tells security to let people get as close as they can. His bodyguards take care of them if they manage to get on stage, but he just rolls with it! He's very fan friendly!

I don't think it's fair for people to push themselves in front of others though, that have paid for those front row seats.

I gotta say - I'm not a real country music fan myself, so I really hadn't even bothered to listen to any of Keith's music. Then, I read this thread and was interested in what all the excitement was over, so EasyFeeling sent me some of Keith CD's and a DVD. And now, Keith has won me over. After I got EF's goody bag, I even bought his Greatest Hits CD. One of my nieces is a big fan, so whenever she is in the car with me, my CD player gets a rare break from Eagles music, and we listen to that CD. He is an awesome entertainer, and his music is as much rock as it is country. Hmmm - sounds familiar, huh!

Meanwhile I have 3 copies, but one is for a friend and one for my mom as a Christmas gift. My aunt sent me 2 copies because the release date here in Germany was a few weeks later. But I couldn't wait anymore and asked her to get it for me.

I love Start A Band, such a great song and the performance at the CMA's was fantastic. And the new song Sweet Thing :inlove:I heard rumors he comes back to Germany next year. Hopefully it's true. Eagles and Keith in 2009, couldn't get any better :-D:-D

TimothyBFan, this is a great picture, thank you.

Dreamer, I remember that :) I'm not a big fan of country music but sometimes I wish he would go back to his earlier music, just a little bit. I love the mix of both, rock and country.

The discussion I just had with Brooke in the Never Ending Song game reminded me of something I wanted to ask here.

As you might remember, I was quite taken back by Keith and Brad Paisley's performance on the CMAs of Start A Band. My niece bought my mother a Brad Paisley cd for Christmas and I looked on it to see if that song was on it (quite the surprise to me family because they all know how I feel about country music!). My brother asked which song I was looking for and I told him. I said I was really surprised at how "rockin'" that song was. He made the comment that Keith Urban has done some pretty rockin' stuff in the past.

My question is... can anyone (Brooke!) give me a few examples that I can check out and download to my ipod. I, of course, will have to do it under the cover of darkness in hopes that no one finds out because they will never believe it of me! :eyebrow:

Brooke
12-30-2008, 05:44 PM
Oh TBF, you must check out Keith! He is an awesome guitar player as well as very, very easy on the eyes!

My first thought is Raining On Sunday. It has a blazing guitar in the end, as well as a very sexy video! This will require further research on my part. I'll watch his latest dvd (again) tonight and report back. I went to a concert last April and he is quite amazing!

Easy Feeling is a big fan, too, and might have more suggestions before I get back!

TBF - I am much like you in that I am not a big fan of country music. However, I have to say that Brooke and EasyFeeling encouraged me to listen to some of Keith's music and I really like a lot of his songs. His music is borderline between country and pop (sound familiar??). Some of my favorites are Got It Right This Time, I Told You So, Better Life, Making Memories of Us, Once In a Lifetime, Tonight I Wanna Cry, You're My Better Half, Days Go By, But For the Grace of God, You'll Think of Me, Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me, and Raining On Sunday. These are all on his Greatest Hits CD and you can probably find many of them on YouTube as well. He is also an incredibly dynamic performer, as well as, quite easy on the eyes.

I'm with you on this...I had never even considered listening to Keith Urban before I watched the CMAs, and I was totally taken aback when I saw him perform! I LOVED the song Sweet Thing, and definitely thought it more of a rocker than a country song in the traditional sense. You've just reminded me that maybe I, too, should listen to a few more of his songs...I get the feeling from what the others are saying that I'm gonna like 'em! :partytime:

Aaaaaaaaah Keith, love love love him :inlove:Yes, their performance at the CMAs was outstanding and I love Sweet Thing and Start A Band.

It's really hard to pick some favorites but I think Dreamer made good suggestions. There are also so many unreleased songs I have and I wish he would put all these on another album. Release date for his new album is March 31 so I'm curious what it sounds like. Sometimes when I'm listening to his previous albums I wish he would go back a little bit to the country sound, especially when I listen to GOLDEN ROAD.

My all time favorite songs are Out On My Own, What About Me, Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me and You (Somebody Like You), the extended version.

Well, I watched the dvd again last night. It was tough job-NOT!

My rockier favorites on it are Once In A Lifetime, Used To The Pain (Chris Rodriguez plays a double neck guitar on it), and You'll Think Of Me.

In Got It Right This Time Keith plays piano and dedicates it to his wife (Nicole Kidman) and his voice is so gorgeous. Very smoky and raspy and sexy! :sigh: And Brad Rice plays a gorgeous guitar.

I recommend you get his newest dvd-Love, Pain, and the The Whole Crazy World Tour. It's wonderful!

Brooke, if you don't know already :)

From Monkeyville:

2009-01-05
Keith's 2009 is already shaping up to be a busy one. A brand new video for his recently released single "Sweet Thing" is due this month, an as of yet untitled new album is set for release on March 31st and now comes further details of Urban's already announced intentions for a 2009 tour.

Fifty-eight North American cities, including Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Toronto and Vancouver, will play host to Urban's tour, which will kick off this May, and likely go through the summer and into the Fall. For play dates and further ticket information, fans should go to KeithUrban.net and/or stay tuned to their local Country radio station.

Wow, Keith is tireless! Look at that list! 58 cities!

I must say, could the Eagles not put out their complete list like this instead of announcing one or two cities at a time? See.....it CAN be done guys! :eyebrow: It would save fans much heartache and speculation, and possibly travel!

It can be done when they come here. Their tour list here consists of the following:

Perth
Melbourne
Sydney
Brisbane
Adelaide

Last time Adelaide was not included at first until outraged South Australians petitioned a radio station.

And what about us Europeans? :brickwall: Maybe he will come again in April before the USA shows, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease !!!

Being Australian I've pretty much had her whole career foisted on me. Her hair was red and curly at the start. Like a lot of people with red hair, she seems to think there is something 'wrong' with it now. (NB: I am a redhead, and proud of it).

I don't like the woman or her frozen face. She has taken a great deal of flak for her performance in the film Australia which was supposed to be the new Gone With The Wind and which has been a complete, monumental flop. In this country we sometimes think we're inferior to everyone else, and we sometimes think we're the best on the planet, but we didn't fall for being told we were unpatriotic if we didn't go and see a film with a title like that. Imagine a film called 'England' or 'France'. It wouldn't happen, would it?!

I was thinking like you, ev. Meanwhile I've changed my mind apart from the botox thing... which kind of "defaced" her. I don't think Keith would love her when she's not a lovely woman with a great sense of humor. She and Hugh Jackman were in Germany a few weeks ago to promote "Australia" in a very popular show full of crazy bets. I was surprised about her naturalness and how relaxed she was. She laughed a lot and were really funny. She mostly seems highly reserved but I've read she's just very shy. But I'm with you I liked her better with her wonderful curly red hair.

She's magnificent on so many levels that people don't know - Keith

I guess I didn't study her that closely--I didn't know about any botox. I like her old face as well as her old hair, then. She was her most gorgeous when she was married to Tom Cruise, IMHO. (I don't mean old face like 'aged', I mean old like ' previous.')

EF.... your take on this is much more balanced than mine, but when she attempted to play the didgeridoo on that German show she offended a lot of our indigenous people. But what you say is correct. Keith's opinion of her is far more important than anyone else's. I shouldn't have spouted all that cynical stuff but where I am she's hard to escape from.

I think I know what you mean, FP. But what I don't get is in which way did she offend people... only because she couldn't play it?

BTW, do you remember Thomas, our German Idol? He has a guest musician with him on the tour who plays the didgeridoo... wow, it sounds awesome! I never heard this instrument live on stage, fantastic! He and the drummer did a battle for about 10 minutes and we stood there with our mouths open. There's a video on youtube, not the best quality but I will look for it.

Here it is... not the best quality because it's filmed with a mobile phone camera.

It had to do with some taboo that exists against women playing the didgeridoo. Some indigenous people believe that if a woman tries this she will be barren. Also they thought she was making fun of their culture.

OK Brooke and EF...I finally checked out 19 Kids (he added 'You Look Good in My Shirt'), and I AM SO HOOKED!! AND I AM SO THERE AT WHATEVER SHOW STARS AND I CAN MAKE IT TO ON THIS TOUR!! Actually, now I am listening to Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing as I write this. From the greatest hits, it turned out I was already familiar with "You'll Think of Me"--I just didn't know that was him. I LOVE his version of "Romeo's Tune"--I had seen Steve Forbert perform that waaaay back in the 80's when it was his hit. My other faves were "Once in a Lifetime," "You're My Better Half," "Somebody Like You," and "I Wanna Cry."

Funny how joining an Eagles forum can get you hooked on other artists, huh?:guitar::grooving::grin:

Wait, EF...you are not saying that Philly is sold out already for the Aug. 1 show, are you? I called Ticketmaster last night, and they said that tickets were not going onsale till this coming week. I went online this am, and they did not list an onsale date yet, so I didn't think they would be onsale today.

Here are the songs he played at Daytona... Days Go By, Sweet Thing, and Better Life. He doesn't start the live show till a half hour after the broadcast does (ie, 2:30pm our time.) I waited till 3:10 pm, and still no National Anthem. Then I had to stop watching and move on with my day.

He has got an extremely HSG body, especially from behind...oh, and from the front, too. WOW! The cameras had some very nice shots of him!

Before the concert, NASCAR shows an animated feature about Digger the gopher that Keith wrote a song for. The commentator interviews Keith about how he feels to have written a song about the gopher, and how his family is doing, etc. So I got to here the Australian accent...nice!

By the way, a bit later in the broadcast (after the concert), they also show Tom Cruise on the sidelines somewhere...ironic, huh?

EasyFeeling
02-16-2009, 10:31 AM
Yes, I saw his performance as well as the interview and the Digger song. I love that song! Apart from the fact he did look HOT as always ... have you seen the guitar? :rockguitar:

As I've read Gavin DeGraw did the Anthem. There were different informations yesterday who is going to sing it. We all got really confused about that.
About the tickets... that's what I've been told in the forum:

Philly is one of the largest arenas on the toour. I heard on radio that it was sold out. If TM has no tickets today, check back with them because tickets do get turned back in.

Philly is very very large and the seats aren't banked much they go straight up very scarey. I will never try for tickets there again we got tickets easy last yr only to find out they were 6 rows from the top but didn't realize untill we were climbing how far up we really were

I have no idea if it's true or not.
