You wouldn't care to explain why, would you? Like most of the pre 1979 photos it doesn't do a lot for me. Those years were before my time and I find it hard to relate my current feelings to back then (especially when my favourite Eagle was Felder then).

ETA: I created a lot of controversy at the end of the previous Frey Fever thread when I insisted I preferred 'Present' over 'Past' and I lost that argument comprehensively, so I should not have raised the issue again, except that I deliberately quoted THAT PHOTO to ask Troub what it was she liked about it.

Basically, I just adore Glenn's look. The wavy, mussed dark, longish hair. The handlebar moustache. The open-necked loose shirt and the tight blue jeans. I love that style in general - it would make me take a second look if I saw a guy in the street dressed like that - and in my opinion, it really suited Glenn. He looks young, confident and masculine - the lazy, casual rock star. Speaking about this picture specifically, I love his stance, the way he's focused on the guitar, and there's something cool about the way he has his back to the audience. It's a young, hot guy up on stage, drenched in sunshine, playing his guitar, watched by thousands of people - basically living out his dream. It's a great, dynamic shot.

That's not to say that I necessarily prefer the above photo to this one:

I think Glenn looks absolutely gorgeous here - sexy, passionate and masculine, but in a different way. I don't tend to compare the two eras, because I can't. It would almost be like comparing two different people.

I guess that '70s look on Glenn just does something to me. The Hotel California pictures, for example, literally make me swoon. He exudes sex appeal - the rugged, tousled look has always appealed to me. I also think that, whereas you say you find it difficult to apply feelings to pictures that were 'before your time' (which I can appreciate), that element actually adds to the appeal for me. I wasn't around in the '70s, so pictures like this allow me to indulge my fantasies! Rightly or wrongly, given the often bland music scene nowadays, that era seems so exotic and exciting to me. Pictures like the first one encompass all of that. That's the best way I can explain it. :)

I agree - that was very well stated , Troub. Personally, I love looking at pictures from all the eras for all of the guys. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I WAS there or maybe it doesn't - I dunno. I do know I enjoy it partly because I like seeing the way the guys evolved over the years - it's part of their history. I don't try to analyze it too much. I just know I can appreciate masculine good looks and hotness when I see it no matter how old the subject is. :thumbsup:

Anyway I got out my old scrapbook to see how close the 1988 ticket is to the 2010 one. The 1988 ticket was E1 4. The 2010 ticket is B1 3 (they seem to have renamed the rows). Back then the tickets cost A$31!

I am so glad people like the 1988 photos (Brooke - I am going to think of you from now on every time I look at them. You will also know which avatar I will be using in your birthday week)!

That was an awesome night. One day I will convert the audio. As well as a stunning version of YBTTC, he did fantastic harmonies on two of LRB's best songs, Cool Change & Shadow In The Rain. I still remember the line from Shadow In The Rain 'what more can I do'. He was harmonising but he sang it with passion. It is going to be weird in December being in almost the same seat.

Well FP, I think you've just about got most of the recent shirts covered. :thumbsup: I just remembered that I never had time to write a review for the Raleigh show that nnhgirl and I attended in June. But Glenn wore the purple shirt that night in the first half and then came out in the second half with the fushia shirt. I was soooo excited. It's funny because I was talking to a girl next to me and she liked the purple too. I told her I thought it was my 2nd favorite. She, of course, wanted to know what my favorite was, and I told her he sometimes wore this really smokin' hot pink shirt. Then, when he came out in it, I just looked at her and got the :nod: of approval! :lol:

Sorry to mislead you, Brooke. There haven't been any pictures posted of him at the concert, at least that I have seen. It's a wonder we haven't seen any as he was right out at the front of the stage twice! I was just comparing seeing him in person to older photos that I have seen of him. I think that he is beginning to look a lot more like his Daddy than he used to.
