I still llike tellling the story of my experience with the Long Run gatefold (I know this happened to Willie too). When I first eagerly gazed at it I had to identify them as quickly as I could; Schmit (check), Felder (check).... er... skip that.... Henley (check), Walsh (check).

I then had to go back & look at the centre of the photo again. I honestly didn't know who it was. I think I had to look at the album credits to see who I had missed out. (This is not a joke). I then thought 'no, it isn't. It can't be. He had long hair & a moustache. It can 't be him'. Then I thought 'he sings Heartache Tonight'....:confused:

I tried to struggle with it but that was the end of it, really. :help:

Awwww Julie :hug: Such a sweet story! I guess everybody just as that 'moment'. Congratulations (if a bit belated) on 10,000 posts. I must say I really love your contributions and consider you one of the biggest eagles expert I have ever know. I'm so glad you managed to see Glenn :heart: and the Eagles last December and that you had such a good time. I'd love to meet you for 'real' some time! Thanks for all your wonderful contributions to the Border. :hug:

It looks like NFA era so it was probably taken at Muscle Shoals Studio in Alabama where some of that album was recorded.

Glenn probably appreciates the Crimson Tide reference too because I know he likes this song:

The pic is from Jerry Wexler's official photos. The caption under the photo says "JJ, Glenn & Wex". I have no idea who JJ is. The picture is from the NFA sessions in Muscle Shoals as the picture below is on the site too & we have seen it before. Good find!

Maybe the photos aren't from NFA. I did some more searching & found this article. It states that Jerry Wexler produced Lou ann Barton's album with Glenn in Muscle Shoals. "JJ" might be Jimmie Johnson, as bolded below. Don't know what to make of the "worryingly" comment, but I don't like it :-x.

I think you're right, FP. The article above says that her album was released in 1982. According to Wikipedia, NFA was recorded from early fall 1881 to spring 1982 and released May 28, 1982. That would make it from the "NFA era". If you watch old videos, he's either flinging his hair back or pushing it back with his hand practically every thirty seconds! I only wonder that it took him so long to finally cut it. Pretty over practical, I guess, just like high-heeled schools for ladies. ;) Lucky for Glenn, he got off the long-hair train at just the right time - by the early 80s, long hair on men was totally out. Heck, even Timothy cut his at that time!

I know you are a fan of LROOE and the modern era but I am just more of a Hotel California/The Long Run era type of guy.... But I'm a classic rock purist so I guess that's just my nature. I'm not a "huge" LROOE fan (with the except of How Long and Guilty Of The Crime). I still like seeing the band now playing the older songs although I do miss Don Felder to be honest but I still enjoy the shows a lot although I wish I could have my dream setlist, LOL. But the old pics I just like. I do try to include new ones though, and I try to put up pics that appeal to both me (with a guitar in the photo) and to all of the women of the board (the guy in the photo). :rofl: I will try to include more new modern photos though!

This is definitely a sweatshirt. It's made of fleece fabric like sweat pants which is a heavier, solid fabric.

To me, a sweater is knitted fabric or yarn. I think he's wearing a sweater in the golf picture, as it has cables. I've never seen a sweatshirt with cables. :shrug:

Eta, if you could zoom in on it, it might possibly be a shirt of two fabrics! It looks like the sleeves are knitted, but the body is solid fabric, like wind pants are made of. These are pretty popular here now.

In the Golf photo, it looks like a sweater to me.

However, in this recent photo, I didn't even notice what he was wearing... only that he looked so freakin' HS&G I am beyond words!

I did actually zoom it in on my computer and there is no way of telling if it's a sweater or sweatshirt he's wearing. The sleaves look fancy, but it could be a ridged detail on a sweatshirt... I can't look at that when my focus is drawn to his adorable singing face and thick hair... and jeans that are fitting quite nicely...

And as far as that golf picture, I can assure you that is a sweater, not a sweatshirt. I remember it VERY well because it was so soft. I'm assuming it is cashmere wool because of how soft it is. I watched Dublin just a little while ago, but had to watch some of it last night in honor of it's anniversary! Glenn's soo fit & HSG in this video! :inlove:

I watched the DVD on the anniversary too, Ann. And I definitely agree that Glenn is HS&G in the video. May have to watch it again, along with some other solo bootlegs, to tide me over until next month. :nod:

So am I! Everytime I think about it! I feel like I'm about 12 too! I missed Beatlemania..... but hey, this is 1000 times better!
