I thought we could start a thread to alert fellow fans to active auctions of cool Eagles-relates stuff that we think they might be interested in or discuss stuff being sold online. This is a bit different from the memorabilia thread in that this is designed to clue people in on auctions while bidding is still open, or discuss materials we see getting sold.

I've got that Henley tarot card. It was the very first Eagles item I bought on eBay. I thought I was getting cards for the whole band.

I also have the pillowcase but unsurprisingly I have never been able to use it. I am very proud of the 'Always Glenn Frey' shirt in the form of the Coca Cola logo that I got from Ebay too.

The license plate that P47 turned us onto last week arrived Friday. Yesterday Larry went out and bought a frame for it and put it on the car. He was so proud of the frame he found me for it....chrome palm trees..."you know, like Hotel California!". :hilarious: It looks super cool on the front of my SUV. You get what you pay for. When they first opened I went there and bought a Hoover vacuum. It was an upright with the attachments all built in. Nice vacuum, good price. It worked for six months and then it would not stay upright anymore. I took it to a repair shop and the man told me he couldn't fix it as it had a defective part in it that made it do what it was doing. He told me to take it back to Wal-Mart. I did along with the receipt and his notes on the repair order. After much conversation, the manager exchanged it for another.

Six months later it did the same exact thing. They were selling vacuums with a defective part. I went and bought an Oreck. The Oreck worth every penny and more.

Then a friend told me he could not buy his razor blades at that store as they were not as good as the razor blades he would buy at, say Target. The same exact brand and blade!

I had purchased some cute Hanes underwear for my daughter at a Fred Meyer. Nice quality. When into Wal-Mart and they had the same thing, but better price. Got them home and there was a world of difference in the quality and the thickness of the fabric from the ones purchased at Fred Meyer. Same underwear style number, package was different though. From then on out Body by Victoria for her. Those panties don't ever wear out.

I won't even go into the clientèle that Wal-Mart attracts.

I've never had any issues with anything I've purchased from there and have been shopping there for years. Gotta love the prices for the most part. Well that one gives photo credit to the photographer but if you delve deeper into their ebay store, they have 3 pages of Eagles photos. Most if not all that we've seen before. Then go to description and they have a "copyright notice". So did they buy the rights to these photos in order to copy and resell them? I highly doubt it but correct me if I'm wrong.

I e-mailed this guy two years ago about the fact that it was Bernie Leadon not Don Henley in those shots but he refuses to change it. Sounds like deliberate false advertising.

If he is the copyright holder, as he claims, then he can forbid their posting online in theory (although it would be quite difficult to enforce it in practice). Still, I wonder if he truly is the copyright holder. In the past, I just readily accepted such claims, but time has taught me to be more skeptical. I would ask for proof.

I'm liking the metal necklace and keyring. I actually have a necklace with that same "On the Border" logo - and not only that, but mine's a "twofer" cause it has the "Hotel California" logo on the flip side. The signatures could be real, but I seriously doubt it. Felder for one, was very outspoken about NOT autographing anything that was likely to gain the signatures of the rest of the band simply BECAUSE of the type thing this auction represents.

But, it could be they did all sign it.

OK, I found this very amusing but didn't really know what thread to put this in. Auction from Ebay. The description says: "This is a vintage Joe Walsh signed personal check wrote out to Bill Szymczyk for $1900 for a football on Aug 25 1982." Now you know damn well this was most likely a check to pay off a gambling debt and NOT to buy a football.

I don't have a huge problem with it as long as the merchandise is authentic and was obtained legally and ethically by the seller. I've purchased different items over the years to add to my memorabilia collection. However, the highest bid on this is currently $20.50 and that is more than I am willing to pay for it. So I'll pass and let it go to some other proud owner. :grin:

Yes, I was really surprised when I opened the jacket! I was really happy. Now he has to get one for himself because we are going to see them together in Sept! :thumbsup:
