I got my Canadian money this morning. From one colony to another (heh, heh). Their $20 has the Queen on it while she is on our $5. Strangely the other notes feature past Prime Ministers. I can tell you now there is no way a former Prime Minister would ever get on an Australian note. I was listening to Joni Mitchell's Amelia in the train; a song about travel obsessives like me. Once you have travelled the thrill never leaves you. I was telling the guy in the bank about what I was doing. Weird.

My tickets are on my worktable and every time I look at the little folder they are in I reread them, just to see that I'm actually GOING to a Glenn :heart: Frey gig (2 in fact) after wanting to for SOOOOOO long! I cannot believe that in 9 days time my flight will be just about to take off! For me the whole adventure is really beginning on the Monday. I've bought a new digital camera as well specially for the trip!

We had record rain here yesterday -- 10.2 inches in a 24 hour period in some places -- so it got me thinking about the possibility of travel delays next Tuesday. So . . . . . .
I cancelled my Tues flight and am driving up on Monday!!! I'm always up for a road trip and its only about 7 hours -- very "doable". We can take our time on both the way up and home. I'm sure it would have been fine if we flew, but I will be much less anxious with an additional day to deal with any delays rather than just a few hours.

Oh, now, Soda, you should not have asked this because you know you will get an essay from me.

First of all I know you don't like it but I LOVE the slowed down version of Smuggler's Blues & I really hope that's the version we get because the audio I have of it at Casino Rama is just cool.

If he does YBTTC I think it would be likely he would do the 'proper' version because that's what he did at the House of Blues.

You know that when you saw him at Fallsview last time he did ILTWAWD, IDTWNW and YANA. That is what I would like. But that was then. We have seen his approach to his LROOE songs with the Eagles.

I know very well that asking for POMPOY is like asking for the moon. Sadly, great though the song is, great though the Strange Weather album is, Glenn has not played one song from it since 2000. I think that is dreadful. But there is nothing that can be done about it.

I think it's highly likely the setlist will be the same as the Casino Rama setlist. At least I might get I'll Come Running Back To You which I have never even physically heard, as there is no audio available. And I have HEARD I Hear You Knockin' and Some Kind Of Blue, but obviously never seen them (or I Found Somebody). I could go on & on here but being realistic I don't think there will be any surprises.

But as far as Smuggler's Blues on Valium... not for me! He did it that way at the Manhattan Beach show in 2008 and it was a total snooze. Besides, Glenn has enough slow stuff without tranquilizing one of his most slammin' rockers. (I admit I'm prejudiced because it's one of my favorite songs of his).

To each his/her own, though!

Yeah - It's hard to believe that in just one short week, we'll be in Niagara Falls. As far as the setlist, I'm one that really doesn't care what he plays. I know I'll enjoy the show no matter what. My wish list is way too long because it pretty much includes just about everything he ever recorded and then some. It would be great to hear all my favorites that I've never seen him perform before.

My plane leaving Dublin is running 6 hours late which means I will miss my connection to Toronto. As a result I'm on the later one (The one that I could have booked for about €150 less originally only I didn't want to be putting the others out). Its flight AA3874 and will arrive at Terminal 3 In Pearson Apt at 2359, ie midnight local time.

Sounds like what happened to me last year on our trip to Aspen for the POT show. My early morning flight was canceled and I couldn't fly into Denver until almost 6 pm. Poor Nancy, Kay, and Lissa sat there in the airport waiting for me for nearly 8 hours. But they were great sports about it and didn't let me feel bad about the whole thing even though I kept trying to apologize. If anything is guaranteed in the world of commercial airlines is is delays, delays. delays. :lol:

Well I've made it to Toronto. I'm in the airport! I'm kinda tired alright, as I've been in transit exactly 24 hours! I know Nancy had meant to meet me off the earlier flight, then GL sent me a pm to say that the arrangements had changed. I'm just wondering what I should do now. Should I head to Fallsview if that's where everyone is! Or should I stay here? The mess up was all as a result of my flight being delayed so I've nobody to blame over this but myself!

We finally got here in NF @ 3:30AM local time. We all came together in the van from Toronto ( me, FP, Dreamer, Soda, GA & PLS & Harold). We're all fine but tired. I met up with Julie at the airport @ 1:30PM & had a wonderful afternoon getting to know her. Nancy, Kay & Lissa picked us up after we had supper & we went to the Hard Rock Cafe & had a great time while we waited for Lisa's flight to arrive. We're Sooo excited about the concerts!

I don't know just when Kath gets in, but she will be meeting up with us. Julie was able to spend some time with her in Toronto on Sunday! Haven't talked to the others yet this morning. They are at a different hotel.

Just after I posted this Soda caught up with me! I did indeed have her number and had been texting or calling her during the day, but she left her phone in Memphis!!! I believe she was quite upset when she was on the plane and realised! Anyway, she was equally worried that I would miss HER! Still alls well that ends well. And we are here! And We'll be seeing Glenn :heart: tonight!

Hi all! Just using Nancy's laptop to repeat GA's comments about meeting everyone. It was so cool for it to happen at last. I had no problems although 14 hours to Vancouver was a long time. I had a day in Toronto where I went up the CN Tower & spent some time at the Hard Rock Cafe, then I met Kath & her father & we had dinner in Chinatown, met Ann & Harold, then eventually Nancy, Kay & Lissa, but because Lisa's plane was delayed we had to go back into town, back to HRC, back to airport, didn't get to Niagara until 3 a.m. But we're here!

FP, PLS, and I have just gotten ready. We are SO jazzed! Dreamer, GA, GL and her husband are getting ready as well. We're all going to meet up with HH and her husband for dinner. This is going to be great!

HH just texted us and said that the show will be videotaped! Now whether or not that has any lasting significance remains to be seen.

BTW, I was indeed VERY upset that I left my phone. I just hope I left it at home and it didn't fall out of my purse in the parking lot, which is the other possibility. Of all the times not to have it!!! Thank goodness we all got together eventually in spite of it.
