I'm not sure if they're going to do a shortened show for the entirety of their tour, but they're sure to do a shortened one in Vegas. Anyone thinking of going to this date should keep that in mind. Of course, if that's the only date near you, you take what you can get!

Am I the only one here that wants to say enough is enough already with all the Vegas shows? I'm beginning to wonder if they're ready to become a Vegas act. :hilarious:

I think the MGM Grand saw how many people were flocking to see the Eagles at their venue - and thus spending time/money in their casino - and so paid the Eagles very well to make a return appearance.

However, this time I'll wait 'til they come closer!

I would bet (haha) that's it's a very high paying gig. Combined with being a very short plane ride from LA, it's no hardship for them.

I don't think it's all about the payday. I think they got a bigger ka-ching from Dubai and South Africa than they ever would from Vegas.

I'm betting that they were filming the November shows and need to either re-do a song or two (remember Glenn's voice was a little off on one or two songs) and/or perform songs that were not done in the November shows so as to add to the length of a DVD. JMHO.

I'm hoping any DVD will be of a revised setlist. We don't know what the setlist will be at this stage.

We certainly spent a lot of money at the MGM. Stayed there for 3 nights, gifts shops, restaurants etc. We even went all out and ate at Craft Steak, best food we've had but it was over $200. :dizzy:

I remember a few months ago, Don was doing a show in Florida the night before the Eagles had a show in Vegas. Obviously, at least with Vegas, they don't feel the need to get there very early!

On the other hand, it would depend on how much time they want/need in the casinos before showtime.

Heck, if they want to play around in the casinos, they could be there now! However, as for how much time they need in order to mount another show at Vegas' MGM Grand... from past experience, it doesn't seem to be too much.

I don't suppose you could come to Glenn's show in LA instead, PLS? I will have a spare ticket. It's just a suggestion.

I find it hard to imagine any of them would care to spend time in the casino. Timothy has been very outspoken about how cigarette smoke bothers him and I suspect it's the same for the others. Just saying....

Yeah, I can't really see them doing the whole Vegas gambling scene. Who knows, though, some people think gambling is fun - maybe they play in a high-stakes VIP room somewhere (Timothy excepted). Still, I doubt it.

Yeah it's probably just another show...go in..play...go home.

I think all the casinos now have Non Smoking areas or No smoking at all. I think in Atlantic City they do not allow any smoking in the casinos. Times have changed... Smoking is banned in many places these days

It's different state by state. I didn't see any No Smoking sections when I was at MGM-Vegas last fall. Nevada obviously doesn't have any bans on smoking. Here in Virginia, the second largest cigarette producer in the US, the laws are very strict. No smoking in restaurants or bar areas unless strict ventilation guidelines are met and the area is totally blocked off, with a door, from the rest of the building. Most restaurants can't afford the renovation costs and so there is no smoking in most places. Of course, we don't have casinos, either. Heck we don't even officially have bars, they have to be part of a restaurant and sell a certain percentage of food to keep their license. It has just occurred to me I live in a very uptight place.

New York is very anti smoking. The mayor is even trying to ban people from smoking in there own apartments. They say smoke travels through the vent systems. They are even creating new apartment buildings with no smoking.
I guess Vegas is different. I haven't been there in a long time. I thought they at least had No Smoking sections of the casinos. That's the least they can do.

I knew here in Indiana, it's been an ongoing debate about the casinos. The No Smoking bans are up to the counties but a lot of counties are exempting the casinos from them.

In the casinos of downtown Las Vegas, the smoke is so thick you can barely breathe! There's no escaping it. Even if you don't have a lot of smokers around you, decades of poorly-ventilated smoke has sunk deeply into every surface. Those places will reek of smoke until they're bulldozed.

However, the strip is better. A few casinos including the MGM Grand have non-smoking gambling areas. To the best of my knowledge there is no entirely non-smoking casino. However, even the ones that don't have non-smoking gambling areas still restrict smoking to the floor, a few bars, and of course the smoking hotel rooms. The casinos on the strip also are much better ventilated.

When Mom was still living in Albuquerque we used to go down to visit and there are tons of casinos throughout New Mexico. While there were no restictions in the casinos, the CITY bans smoking in public places -- and by that I mean city parks and on the sidewalks outside of businesses. Not sure how that's working for them because it seems it would be impossible to enforce. (Kind of like their 'no talking on you cell phone while driving law. Ironically you see the cops doing it all the time!)

Last time I was in Vegas I went to a smoke free casino. I'm thinking it was off strip. I want to say it was something like Bill's or Bob's or...I don't remember.

No you don't! Lol.

In Ireland there is absolutely no smoking in any indoor public place whatsoever, bars, restaurants, shops, schools, colleges public transport, hospitals, shopping malls, stations, etc. The ban was introduced in 2004 and was brought in on the premise that any public place like this is somebody's workplace. And no worker should be exposed to cigarette smoke in the course of their work. Initially it was met with resistance from some people. A lot of establishments have built 'smoking terraces' ie outdoor corrals with a flimsy roof and patio heaters as a solution! You also see people smoking outside a shopping mall or hospital before they go in. In hotels you can smoke in your room but not the areas open to the public. Now, 8 years on its totally acceptable.

We don't have casinos either. I dont think there is any specific reason! Just nobody bothered to set one up!
