Hopefully this is supporting your Concert Fund!

That's EXACTLY what all the 'extra' shifts money is going towards!! And, I have a couple of loans from friends lined up in the rare event that I don't have what I think I will need. :-)) I'm covering ALL the bases!!! This is my once in a lifetime dream concert. I want to have a great time with no worries. The timing was a little bad for me, considering that I just started this job 2 months ago and had been out of work for a few months prior, BUT, things are really working out! I opted for a positive attitude (something I wasn't using before) and suddenly things started falling into place. Imagine that?? ;-)

I'm right there with you, Lizzy! Work is really taking its toll at the moment, but I know I'll be glad when I get my paycheck. (At least I hope I will!) Hang in there!

Thanks Troub, you too!! Yes, the paychecks make it all worthwhile!

[QUOTE=Windeagle;178433]Yikes! Just heard on the news there's an armed standoff going on not far from here. Several police officers have been injured in a drug raid gone bad.

It's not in my town but one I drive through on my way to work. And I have a friend who's an ER nurse at one of the hospitals involved. My thoughts go out to all the families affected by this.[/QUOTE

I can't imagine having a police officer as a friend or family member...so scary...glad you're safe...I'll say a prayer for the injured officers.

Not unless my friend either finds a dog sitter (i dont think she wants to) or relieves me from any guilt if I go alone and don't spend the rest of the weekend with her. But, I doubt that there is anything in the world that would take that guilt away, so although im still hoping to go, I'm prepared emotionally that I won't be able to. :-)

Yes, Atlanta is set since I'm staying with same said friend and I'm driving, so there's no transportation issues. :-)

I have been having a stoke of BAD LUCK since last Thursday, when my phone & internet service shut down for no reason. Then I was unable to get a repair guy here until Mon. who was not able to fix the problem. Had another TW Cable guy here for 4 hours on Tues, again on Wed. Well they finally realized that the problem was with the computer jack on my laptop. I am able to use my little notebook, but now I have to go wireless. On top of this I had a tax appointment, which I had little time to prepare for on Wed. Yesterday I bought the wireless router, so I have to hook that up, but last night I find out that my company from LA is coming Today 13th , and not next Fri, 20th like they originally told me, so my house needs to get organized ASAP. I have my paperwork out & I'm just crazy here.
I just hope I can hook up the router today. The whole week has been a nightmare & today is Fri the 13th.LOL

Well I hooked up the wireless router. That only took over an hour of frustration on the phone, but it looks like everything is working. The taxes are done, just have to clean up the paperwork.

Now I just have to prepare for out of town company..Last minute notice! I told her, you will just have to deal with my house, because I am just so stressed out. This morning I was practically in tears & I do not get like that easily.

Maybe things will get back to normal. It's amazing how much being offline can disrupt your life!!! Never made it to the gym all week, but that's how it goes.
Thanks for letting me vent!

I'm back from Italy!

We had a great time! But not from the beginning! We were in Italy, unfortunately, not our luggage, which were still in Germany, that came the next day, very late in the afternoon, that was not nice!Especially since all the stores had already closed and we are not even buy toothpaste or other important things. So we traveled without luggage to the hotel long after midnight! Saturday morning, my sister and I have then searched for a shop to buy us the most important things(shower gel, etc.)!
The weather was fantastic we had in the high 80s°F, here at home we have not even the half! We have visit Verona it is a wonderful city with all their old monuments!Of course we visited the balcony of Juliet! Also we then drove around Lake Garda, beautiful landscape!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your holiday Koala even if the start of it was not ideal. At least you got your luggage back.

The next bit is difficult to post but I feel I have to share it with my Border Friends.

Yesterday Frank called an emergency staff meeting. Of course we were all nervous about it. Before the full meeting about 10 of us were called into the office to receive some bad news privately. I was in that group. We were informed that one of our dearly loved and respected colleagues had died 'suddenly and tragically' that morning. Of course we all know what that means.

As a teaching staff we had to bring this message to our students and have had to keep teaching and managing classes as well as we can under the circumstances. Many of the students are traumatised to say the least and at this stage the stress is telling on the teachers. I've an unbelievable headache and have felt sick the last 24 hours. It is the worst week the school has ever experienced

Of course we are conscious too that our colleague was married with a family. And they are constantly in our thoughts.

I'm not going to say his name as we may have other Irish Borderers who are guests on the Border but I would ask you all to remember this man and his family in your prayers.

Thank you all so much everybody. :grouphug: it has been a most difficult 48 hours and with the removal to the church tonight and the funeral tomorrow morning it's not over yet. The school closed early today in order to allow the staff (many of us who have had to mask our own grief in front of the students and effectively 'hold the fort') our own prayer service and time to remember him. The prayer service was beautiful although emotional and I thought I did ok. Until the last piece of music, one which we in Ireland would call 'Will ye Go Lassie Go' known here on the Border as 'Wild Mountain Thyme'

Once again thanks to you all! The support here is only amazing!

GA, I'm just reading this now, but I have some idea of what you are going through. You may remember that I have been off work the last 2 1/2 years due to my Menier's disease. Harold has been retired from the same employer(govenment of Canada) for two years. About 6 weeks ago we got a call from a good friend & former co-worker telling us that he had just come out of a 'private' meeting with his boss, during which he was informed that another of our friends & co-workers had died that morning of a brain aneuryrism. I had worked with her for 15 years and Harold for 27 years. She was only 55 & she left behind a 15 year old daughter. Her funeral, although beautiful, was heart wrenching.

Still thinking of you, Lis. I know how rough this week has been and you have been constantly in my thoughts. I am so desperately sad for your colleague and his family.

On a lighter note... I am officially on annual leave. My flight to America leaves at 9:05am tomorrow, so I am busy getting everything finalised - printing off documents and making sure I haven't forgotten to pack anything! I can't wait to see Jess and everyone again, and I am looking forward to a couple of weeks of nice weather. It's been so dull, windy and wet here lately! I will post from Jess's place when I get the chance and, for those of you on FB, I'll try to update there when I land in Detroit for my connecting flight. We have several things to look forward to, including a luau on May 8th (my birthday!) and, of course, Joe Walsh on the 17th! Very exciting.

GA, I'm so sorry to hear this. This is one of the toughest things to have to go thru. I lost my brother in a similar manner 10 years ago, so I know how painful it is.

This weekend we attended the funeral of the son of a couple who are 2 of our oldest and closest friends. Steve, my husband, went to high school with Dean and they were best friends (Dean actually introduced me to Steve) and his wife, Brenda and I have been friends since the 4th grade.
Their son and our sons were obviously lifelong friends. Sadly, Eric took his life last week. We don't know why. Maybe in time, Dean and Brenda will want to share more with us (if they even know) and we'll certainly be sympathetic and empathetic ears if they choose to do that.

So painful to watch our friends go thru this. Brenda spoke at the service (I don't know how she did it). She begged us to remember Eric with the beautiful smile that was usually on his face and not to remember the way his life ended.

Thank you so much to you all for your sympathies. Everybodys comments and shared experiences have meant so much to me. A lot has happened in two weeks at work and I've been left with more questions than answers. It was a Public Holiday today but I have spent most of the day feeling upset, worried and resentful about everything that has happened. I'm dreading going back tomorrow, for the first time ever.

Molly, my deepest sympathy to your friends on the loss of their dear son. I hope they find some answer to why this awful event happened and that they can draw some small comfort in the fact that he is at peace now. I know how trite these words probably sound at this time, but please be assured that I will pray for Eric and all the others who have asked for prayers.

WC, glad you are OK and that the cursed Kidney Stone did NOT interrupt your enjoyment of our boys gig!

Troub! I know I wished you a Bon Voyage last night on text. I hope you arrived safely and that you are already having fun. I'm sure Troub won't mind me saying that she texted me just before her plane left and as its het birthday tomorrow they changed her seat and gave her two seats by the window all by herself!

I cannot imagine losing a child especially in such a tragic way. My thoughts are with Eric's family.

Well we signed papers this weekend accepting a bid on my Mom's house. It took us forever to get it cleaned out (we were so unsure on what to do with so much of the stuff) and on the market, but it was only listed for 2 weeks and had a lot of activity regarding it. Hopefully this will all work out. It will be good to know it's a family with 3 young children who will soon be calling it home.

Awesome to think about a young family making memories in your Mom's house. Some day, if my mother in law ever decides to let go of her place, we'll be heading down the same road you're on. Seriously, anyone want to buy a house that looks like it was frozen in time around 1974?

Thanks for all the kind words regarding Eric and our friends. My family is still reeling, so I can't even imagine how they are going on day to day. Not sure I could go back to that house after what happened. I'm thinking about planning an outing with our old group of friends. Maybe a Brewers game in a few weeks. Brenda said she was afraid no one would want to be around them right now and I certainly don't want to let them go on feeling that way. Having been thru something similar, I guess I have a little bit of insight into what they are going thru.

GA, you'll probably never have answers. It's been 10 years since my brother died, and there's still so much I don't understand. I've resigned myself to the fact that it's between him and God. But, I'll spend the rest of my life wondering if I could have done or said something to make a difference.

I think so We! Especially if they made it home in good time and there were no problems! Around here the schools all have sponsored, all night parties. It's a lock in so no one leaves and all activities are planned. Parents chaperon. They have a great time.

So sorry to hear that GA. My sympathies, thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends. As TBF said, the poor classmates will struggle to comprehend. I remember when I was in the 2nd grade, one of my friends/classmates was killed in a wreck over the weekend. The entire school had a weird 'air' about it for a long time. Such a somber mood of course and nothing made sense. We just couldn't grasp that Charles wouldn't be back in class, even at age 7 or 8.

What makes it worse is that recently the child of a teacher (and good friend) was also diagnosed with this. I had only been telling him how well she had been doing. Now this. I need to keep this news away from him as long as I can.

Tues night I had the good fortune to get tickets to see Adam Lambert at a private show introducing his new album. His voice was spot on perfect & he's got looks to die for. He played 9 or 10 songs off the new album with his full band & even though it was a very small audience, he sang like he was playing for thousands. I know this guy isn't everyone's taste, but his voice is just so good, it's no wonder that Queen invites him to sing with them. He has a full 7 octive range, which is very rare.

I took a lot of pictures, but I am not a great photographer. If you want to see them, they are on my Facebook page,( Ellensue Stein). I am not sure how to load pictures on this sight, as I am electronically challanged! LOL
I really had a spectacular time at this show as it was a very small venue & I was able to get really close.

I'm on vacation this week! :yay: I know most people travel during their vacations, but we aren't big on traveling, too much work to be done! Maybe someday we'll get to, but not right now. I do have a long bucket list that will happen one day!

Yesterday one of our great nieces graduated from high school. She's a lovely girl and was named salutatorian! Besides being an all state basketball player and a state finalist in track, she's really smart! Love her!

This week I am doing the spring cleaning. Washing windows, straightening up the basement storage room, etc. Today I am taking my Mom to a doctor's appointment and we are having lunch out. I also have to take my jeep in for a check. So, I'll be around, but busy, busy, busy!

Brooke - enjoy your vacation!

-------

This last week was a bad week. I've been having horrible insomnia but also we had to have one of the dogs put down due to aggression and attacking (for those who know my dogs, it was Fender.) It was sad as he was one of the most loving dogs but could fly off the handle and go completely into attack mode over anything and was super fearful and aggressive with strangers and tried to attack my dad so they took him in and had him put down. Just too much of a risk and he was getting worse. It started out in late puppyhood but he was a full grown dog and he was getting more and more aggressive and also with the other dogs. We still have Gibson who is a great dog and super friendly and loving. He is super depressed though as Fender was his buddy.

After moving my vacation plans around it looks like I'll be back in Nashville this summer. I do love that place. I'm actually starting the journey in Tunica, MS and stay there for a few days, and then to Memphis, TN for a few days, and end the trip in Nashville, TN. I'm looking forward to it. I've still got some money saved up and I'm probably going to get some pedals as there is a great store there. I don't think I'll be able to get a guitar though but that's ok.

And I guess that's about it. Healthwise I'm doing ok - my stomach seems to be healing with the medicine and seems to be getting better. Still have to watch the spicy stuff or it will burn pretty badly. Ulcers take a while to heal.

GA---congrats to Chris. Your children are beautiful and WOW, does Laura ever look just like her Mom!!!

Oh, Austin, I'm so sad for you!! I know how hard it is to put a dog down for that very reason. I had to do it several years back, we tried everything and nothing worked. When he nipped at a child, that was it. Couldn't take the chance. Hugs to you and to Gibson!

Have fun in Nashville!! My daughter has made 2 trips down there in the last 2 months. Loves it there also. A couple weeks ago while there, she was stalking Jack White. Like mother, like daughter. I was so proud! ;)

I myself am looking forward to a few days off here also. No big plans, just tacking a couple days onto the long weekend this coming weekend. Larry has to work Friday so I plan on going as far as the back deck with my kindle and a cold drink. Kinda hoping I'll get a call from our realtor telling me we will be closing on my Mom's house one of those days so we can close that chapter.

Austin; I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. That's so sad. I really feel for you.
Also, when you are in Nashville, don't forget to visit the Gibson Guitar showroom & factory. They have a venue called the Gibson Showcase (I think that's what it's called) where they have concerts & the guitar store & factory are right there next to it. I had been there a few years ago & I'm sure you will appreciate how they show the making of the guitars step by step by hand. They also have a huge selection in the store. They were just beautiful....Quite impressive & I'm sure a guitar player like you will just love it!

I'm so sorry about your dog, Austin. We thought for sure we'd have to do that with my mother-in-law's boxer when she passed away. The dog was so protective of her that he got really aggressive with anyone who wasn't immediate family. None of us could take him and the shelter wouldn't either. Just when we ran out of options, we got lucky and found a boxer rescue house that knew how to handle him.

Glad to hear your health is better and you're looking forward to vacation though. That Gibson factory TK mentioned looks awesome. I want to go!

Thanks everyone for the support. It was a tough but right decision.

Unfortunately it seems this week won't be much better. Our other boxer, Gibson, is at the vet for the 2nd time in 2 days. He hasn't ate for almost 4 days, vomits everything he eats, and won't get up off of the floor. He's at the vet right now and they are doing XRays to see if he has a blockage and if he does, he'll go into surgery. If it's not a blockage, I'd assume they'll give him IV's and keep him until he will eat. I've wondered if it was depression from losing Fender, but I wouldn't think that would cause vomiting like that. He looks so thin. If we lose him I'll lose it.

Soda - I will PM you when it gets closer to the time. I believe it's the 2nd or 3rd week in June that I will be in town.

TK - I will definitely check out that place while I'm there!!! Sounds very cool and will be right up my alley!

Just an update on Gibson - he had surgery today to remove a mechanical blockage (foreign body). He had ate a bunch of stuffing out of a dog bed and it blocked his small intestine. Infection was starting to set in and so it's a good thing we took him this morning. Last night they thought it was just an infection/bug. He will likely be coming home on Saturday. He's on IV's of course both fluids, antibiotics, and steroids and will likely be not coming home until Saturday, perhaps late Friday night at the earliest. I'm just glad they figured it out and fixed the problem. Now we just have to keep him confined until he completely heals. We leave for vacation week after next so I really hope he's healthy enough to stay at the boarding kennel by then. We might go and visit him tomorrow but we don't want to stir him up so we will let the vets decide if we should depending on how he is tomorrow afternoon. We can't have him pulling out his IVs or getting rambunctious. He has a tendency to be that way!

Some of you have noticed that I wasn't here on the board for a couple of weeks recently, and have been kind enough to ask about my illness. So here's the details.

I’d had a bad pain in my neck & head for about 5 days so I went to my GP; he thought I’d probably pulled a muscle in my neck and gave me some strong pain killers. When I tried to get out of bed 2 days later I couldn’t stand up or walk without falling over to my left side, and the pain in my head & neck was terrible. I called an ambulance & they took me to A & E, where I had lots of tests and was then admitted to the hospital stroke unit. A CT scan showed that I’d had a stroke, and an MR scan 2 days later showed the cause of the stroke to be a split artery in my neck. Blood had clotted in the broken areas of the artery & then the clots had been pushed out into my brain. The affected area was mainly at the back of my brain, which controls balance – which was why I couldn’t walk.

I was in the stroke unit for 13 days, and had daily physiotherapy which taught me to walk again, initially with a frame and then with a stick.

Now I’m back at home, the physiotherapist is coming once a week and has given me exercises to do every day. I still have to use a stick to walk, I’ve lost some strength in my legs and I have sensory loss on my right side. I also still have some pain in my neck & head, but nothing like as bad as it was before. The split artery has to heal itself, so I guess I will get some pain for quite a while. I’ll have another MR scan in 5 months time to check that the artery is healing OK.

At the moment I get tired very quickly even after doing easy tasks like getting myself something to eat or taking a bath. This should improve over the next few weeks.

I’m not allowed to drive for 30 days after the stroke (by law) and after that I can only drive again once my GP has given the OK – so it might be a while longer than the 30 days. So basically I’m pretty much housebound for the time being. :-(
I'm sure I'll be listening to lots of Eagles music and watching Farewell 1 in the next few weeks! It'll help to keep my spirits up.

Of course, what I really need is a BIG HUG from my darling Will.

Of course, what I really need is a BIG HUG from my darling Will.

oh Steph...so sorry to hear about your illness...glad to hear you are on the mend..sounds very scary...wish I could get you your hug from Will but I know one from your friends here will help too:grouphug:....and I know listening to and watching our handsome men will be really good medicine...Take care...Zelda

Just a quick road update. I will be home on Thursday (a day earlier). It's been a rollercoaster of a vacation. High highs and low lows.... It's been stressful and great at the same time.

I did end up getting a '56 Fender Tweed Deluxe amplifier - the same amp both Joe and Felder used to record most if not all of the Hotel California album - and definitely the title track!!!!! It was a dream amp of mine and lets just say I will be paying on it a LOOOOONG time! I also got a couple pedals. That was the "high part". I'll write more about the low part when I get home this weekend.

As for me, I have a lot of bad days since losing my twin sister to cancer 13 months ago and my Dad also to cancer 17 months before her.

Some days I struggle with the insensibility of it all and I have found solace once again in music and writing. So basically, my life has been turned upside down since I am a single parent to a 17 year old son and trying to cope with my losses on top of all of that.

It is inhuman to watch someone suffer like that and has divided my family in a very unpleasant way. Some days I am so sad I can't even think straight. And yes, I have the help with that I need.

Fortunately, I haven't lost my ability to laugh.

Watching ICTYW is what led me here and has given me such a boost. Sometimes fate steps in and does that :)

Bramwen I am sorry that you have had such a rough time over the last few years. I'm gald that you find relief in your writing and music. I have always found music a comfort and solace whenever I am going through hard times in my personal life. To be honest from the time I was a child I just loved music so much. I could not imagine a life where music was not an important part of it.

Thank you Brenda and GA. Even after all this time I can't believe it's actually happened. And over the last few months I relived it all through my neighbour opposite who lost his wife to cancer two months ago. It's just awful how you become conditioned to the signs.

So music puts me in a place that is untouchable. I lose myself in it. My Dad actually introduced us to music, we had an upright Yamaha he used to make us four girls (my brother was too little) stand around and sing! I think he had hopes we would end up a singing quartet or something!!

And through that I developed a love of classical music, got piano lessons and ended up doing recitals at the local hall when I was 9/10, getting to Grade 6 or something at boarding school over the next two years ;) I have a lot of my late sister's music, we had very similar tastes, in classical also. The Greatest Hits Eagles album was hers :) The other night I had on a mixture of stuff, two of hers, one of mine..she was/is (because her spirit is still here) very spiritual and lots of her music is like that (Sarah McLachlan etc). :)

Bram, I'm also sorry to hear of your losses. I also lost my Dad to cancer nearly three years ago now. Doesn't seem possible he's been gone that long and I miss him so much. All we can do is like SG said, take one day at a time.

Thanks Koala, Sally and Brooke. You know, I always wondered how people go on from day to day after such losses and the truth is, you function because you have to..because other people rely on you and you have to be strong..when you crumple and no-one is there to pick you up (in my case), that makes it so much harder. It's an emptiness like no other, a pain like no other.

Brooke, I am so sorry for your loss also..it will be three years for my Dad come December..when I lost him I couldn't see how I was going to cope to the first year (we had no warning with him, three days notice) and then my sister was diagnosed terminal nine months later..so I had to put my grief on hold for him in favour of my sister. Over nine months I watched her wither away slowly in incredible pain and now I grieve for them both.

It's a living hell but worse for them how they suffered so..they had to leave but it doesn't mean we don't miss them and become a little selfish for still wanting them here.

I appreciate all your kind thoughts and support, I have had so much of both from my internet friends and that is so nice to know :grouphug:

In other news here I survived my root canal with the help of "Analog Man". I kid you not I had my iPod full up on volume (or just about) and blaring so I couldn't hear the drills. OK, I didn't know you had been before. Now isn't this weird because I've already seen Jamie Parker as Henry V, when he was still Prince Hal, when I saw Henry IV I there in 2010, along with Roger Allam as Falstaff. We were watching Simon Schama's Shakespeare last night & Roger Allam recited some Falstaff highlights - 'banish plump Jack & banish all the world'.

Enjoying some produce from the garden, if I can manage to get to it before the animals do! My garden is choking do to the heat and lack of rain. We have tried to water it some, but it's just not the same. I thought we would have nice sweet corn, but the coons, squirrels, and deer have decided to eat it before it is really ready. We have picked a few ears early in order to get to eat some ourselves! The next batch probably won't have ears since it is so dry. I've also had a few tomatoes. Yum!

There was a water main break near us on Friday. We are on water restriction. They lost about 50% of our water supply according to the news. No watering lawns, no washing cars, etc. That's not so bad. We have rain barrels we can use to water our garden. But, we can't drink the tap water without boiling it first. We have pots of water on the stove, but when it cools down, you can see all this sediment in the bottom. Gross! We are using bottled water to drink, brush our teeth, cook with. One article says don't use the dishwasher because it uses too much water. Another says use the dishwasher because the high temp may kill some organisms. If you wash the dishes with the tap water, you have to add bleach. Then how do you rinse the bleach off? This isn't supposed to be fixed until the Fourth of July! Sorry, don't mean to complain. At least we have power. Feel so sorry for people who have lost it. Thanks for listening!

Not much happening in my part of the world, I had a quiet weekend because my son has been at a mate's for three days, three of the ones he used to hang with all the time until they all moved out of the area so he visits different ones most weekends. I haven't driven for about eight years but planning on renewing my licence within the next couple of months and getting a car later in the year (so my son can get his Ls)..so it's a real pain with buses and trains where I live, the public transport is absolutely woeful, takes hours sometimes to get anywhere or twice as long because of the bus service here and connections the other end..and don't talk to me about when I do the grocery shopping, I've spent a fortune on cab fares :scowl:

What a pain about your energy problems, being without fresh water is a bit scary, we had a problem years ago in Sydney with Giardia and everybody was getting sick; heavy downpours apparently and treatment plants couldn't keep up, something like that I think.

Hope you guys get it sorted out real soon!

Laura is 11 now. She doesn't know what she wants to do after school yet but seems to be leaning in the healthcare area for the moment anyway - Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic is what she talks about. She is doing 1st Aid at the moment - most of courses to qualify as these have an entrance interview as well as an academic requirement, so the First Aid will give her experience in caring (and also something to talk about) if she does follow that route.

She enjoyed yesterday, except that they showed an episode of LA Law involving a serial killer which she found disturbing because she doesn't watch that sort of TV. We told her it was just dramatic licence & that most court cases even those involving violent crime are much more matter of fact & procedural.

My Dad was taken to hospital early Sunday morning; He had a small heart attack and some ulcer problems along with a few other minor medical issues. Sunday was rough but he is now realitively stable. It looks like he'll be in the hospital til at least the beginning of next week as they determine exactly how bad the damage to his heart is. Because of this my Border time will be limited in the next few weeks but I'll check in when I can :)

I'm doing well here other than I had to have a tooth extracted and now go to an oral surgeon tomorrow to see about an implant surgery. :( It was one of my front teeth too and it looks god awful but at least the pain is gone now that the tooth is gone!

Thanks!

I'm hoping they'll just sedate me with an IV like they do for wisdom teeth and just put me out so I won't be bothered by it. I've had enough dentistry/mouth work while awake lately (root canal) and I'm not going to stay awake even with novocaine while they drill into my jawbone. :hilarious:

Tomorrow I will hopefully find out when the surgery will be and what the plan is.

FP! I'm glad Rosalind enjoyed her camp.I'm sure its given her some things to think about when she does have to make a decision about her future.

TF! I hope your Dad is feeling a lot better by now and that he makes a full recovery. Lots of prayers and positive vibes heading his way.

And Austin, hope your mouth is feeling better after your extraction. I hope the implant plan suits you. I would like to be knocked out for that procedure as well.

EK, glad your Dad is fully recovered too!

I'm taking today off from the hospital ( my bro is there); relaxing, puttering around the house as well as spending some time with Midori.

An ironic moment yesterday, on the way to the hospital what starts playing on my ipod but.... Heart of the Matter

Timfan - Good luck to your dad with his surgery.

----

Well the oral surgeon had bad news - I'm going to lose another tooth. I have very little bone in my upper jaw in the front and they would/will have to do bone grafting to put one in. Also he thinks because of this lack of bone structure that I will likely lose more teeth in the future.

He is going to talk with my dentist and some other specialist to see what is the best route to take surgery wise, future wise, cosmetic wise, and financial wise. They will call us next week with a game plan. I have a feeling they will pull the one other dead tooth and do bone grafting and an implant.

Austin, I hope they come up with something to help you.

My uncle has died of septicaemia. Unfortunately he lived in a country town & was not seen for several days, then was found & flown by helicopter to Newcastle where he died. I know no more than that. He was 65. His health had not been good for years.

So both my father's brothers are now gone & I will have to go to the crematorium where we farewelled my father at the end of 1987. I have not been there since then. Other funerals I have attended (for my father's family members) have been church services.

The only close relatives I have now apart from my mother & my husband's relatives in England are on my mother's side; her sisters & my cousins, and we don't talk to them.
