Oh GEF - that is EXCELLENT! This is one of my favorite HFO Don moments. And DF - I love the hair too. I've said it before, but I truly think the HFO hairstylist should have won some kind of awards for their efforts. :)

Salinas. We had never been to California before, so I chose Salinas because it was centrally located--we spent three days in San Francisco before the concert, and two more days in Monterey and Carmel afterwards. It was the perfect vacation!

Dreamer, of course I remember--I remember every song Don comes out front to sing! It was ASWTDID. He only kept it on for that one song, then he took it off and bowed in a big sweeping gesture, VERY cute, every bit the Texan.

These are great pics, TF. It is very heartwarming to see how all these friendships managed to survive the turbulent '70's. I can so relate because very similar experiences have happened to many of us that were around back then.

You know, I liked Don's hair better a little longer when he was younger.......but now that he's older, I actually like it short. However, I'm kind of curious to see what it would look like if it wasn't that orangey kind of color. :laugh: Maybe the lighter the hair, the better it comes a balding spot?

Don's kids are Annabel, Will and Sophie.

He wrote Taking You Home about bringing Annabel home from the hospital when she was born.

He is teaching his son, Will, to play the drums. At one of his solo concerts he was talking about that, and he said his wife wasn't too happy about that because she knew all the women who are always after the drummers. (Personal experience, I guess....)

I read his youngest daughter was named Julia Sophie after his grandmother.

I found I have no bootleg screen shots of Don singing Desperado when he's down the front. Because the song is the last track on each DVD I found when I tried to fast forward the DVDs they all froze towards the end and I couldn't get Desperado to start. OMG - thank you for that FP. That is just gorgeous. It won't surprize anyone that I just posted in Frey Fever that I think Glenn was at his supreme hotness during HFO. I think Don's supreme uber hotness era was OOTN, but HFO can't be too far behind. :smokin: :smokin:
