I was just reading some comments about one of Tim's shirts in another thread and it gave me the giggles and the idea for this thread. I'm going to post a picture of each Eagle that makes me :headscratch: and wonder "what was he thinking" - you know the ones where someone could have reported them to the fashion police. Anyway, here are the first ones that came to my mind. Some of you may have your own contributions to this thread as well  ...

I guess they've all crossed the line at one time or another, but this one is my all-time head-scratcher. I mean, what was Joe thinking?

To me wearing a T shirt underneath a polo shirt is redundant, but if you must wear a yellow polo shirt a white T shirt would have looked better.

I'm not a fan of polo shirts in general & again, if you have to wear them, don't turn the collar up.

Glenn did a photo shoot for Penthouse where he wore a selection of sweaters. A couple of them were OK. This wasn't one of them.

Aw thanks, GA. You are such a sweetie!

VOL - I think the brick suit was just Joe being Joe at the time. Many of us would have actually been shocked if Joe had shown up in a traditional tuxedo. That was just the way he rolled back then. Nowadays, he is dressing much more fashionable. I still can't picture him in a tux - although I guess seeing him dressing formal in an all black tux is now out of the realm of possibility.

And FP, it's not too unusual for men here in the states to wear tee shirts as 'under' shirts. I noticed at Pebble Beach that Glenn almost always dressed in layers when golfing. That way he could shed or add them depending on the weather throughout the day.

sweet Timothy B...I love you dearly but this shirt has got to go!!

FP! What a difference of opinion! I looked at that black t-shirt and gold shirt and thought 'how perfectly cool'. Of course for me, the gold (yellow shirt) and black t-shirt is PERFECT. Because I drown myself in Black and Gold every chance I get.

I remember when those stand-up collars on polo shirts (and other shirts) were all the rage and fighting with every shirt I owned to get those darn collars to stand up. The amount of starch I went through doesn't bear thinking about.

There you are, you see.... it doesn't appeal to me but if others think it looks OK, maybe I'm wrong. You'll have to tell me which team black & gold refers to because I can only think of the Boston Bruins hockey team (for me the colours refer to the Wests Tigers Rugby League team which will mean nothing to anyone in the States).

ETA: Pittsburgh Penguins?

Oh, goodness, FP! Have I taught you nothing in my time on the board? Boston Bruins...eek...gack... OK...here goes. Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburgh Pirates (or Bucs, as we lovingly call them). Football, hockey, and baseball respectively!!

I will submit this as a fashion faux pas. I even like the brick suit better than this.

I knew the Steelers' colours were black & gold but not the other two.

I love this photo but that pale blue suit - NO. He had a pink suit at that time too which was even worse. As for Joe's....

Again apologies if anyone disagrees, but Don's brown sweater here I don't find flattering:

My first thought on seeing this thread was "can I count the grey shirt Don wears ALL THE TIME".

And then I remembered this:

PS If hairstyles count, then Don had a few of those that didn't work too!

Pretty sure we could fill a whole thread for just Joe on this subject. ;-) Sorry, Joe!!! Love ya anyways. To bad Ticky isn't here more, I know exactly what she would use first as an example, those wonderful elephant pants of Joe's for sure.

Ugh---cut off sleeves. But the hat's pretty stylish! ;-)

Ummmm... Don't know what to say about this shirt/jacket/whatever it is.

Another Ticky favorite--the poncho.

Great selections everyone and I wholeheartedly agree with them! :headscratch:

As far as the stand up collars, that was the 'style' at the time. Everyone did it! The t-shirts under the polos are kind of the 'style' thing too.

EK - This picture definitely crossed my mind when I was trying to choose which pictures to use in my initial post. Part of the reason I chose the one I did was because of the hair. I love Don's hair in this photo much better than the long hair during the EOTI era.

Now I'm gonna have to search for some more pictures for this thread. Fortunately, with the exception of Joe's mid-80's to mid '90's fashion statements, I think our guys seem to get it right more often than not.

Not to mention he's wearing a real smile. When any of our guys wears a big smile or grin they can be forgiven just about anything.

Love the "bad " choices. We all have worn things we wish we had not.

But in this case ,thank God clothes don"t make the man. :grooving:

I've been scratching my head as hard as everybody else looking at some of these [cough, cough] fashion statements:roll: but let's face it, at least we know none of them have the personality of a dead fish (unlike some musos out there) I would have to say that Joe takes the cake with his threads, like WOW...seriously...those pants have got to go!! hahaha!! He wore really baggy ones on the F1 Tour in Melbourne, guessing you have all seen them LOL..the hats on the other hand are a legend unto themselves, maybe he should start a museum or something and put them all up for exhibition LOL...as for Glenn in pink, welllll, it takes a brave man to wear a girl's colour but he did lose the pink jacket on the F1 Tour for the pink shirt. Tim always looks great in dark colours, prefer him that way actually rather than pale..and defo no suit n tie on stage, just doesn't fit for me. Don in plaid pants, a tux short waisted jacket and that tie...c'mon, fellas...what you got next up your sleeves?? :blueblob::bow::nausea: 8):iloveyou: anyways

I believe Timothy only has a couple pictures here, I guess that says something about his good taste in clothing. So I thought I'd go browsing through my photobucket in search of some other possible "mistakes" by Timothy. It was a tough job going through pages and pages of pictures of Timothy, but I managed. :lie:

So here's a few questionable ones, in my opinion.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e136/williehoo/Timothy%20B%20Schmit/TimothyBSchmit107.jpg

I'm sure this shirt was very stylish for the time but, yikes!!
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e136/williehoo/Timothy%20B%20Schmit/TimothyBSchmit169.jpg

Ok, I'll give him the benefit of a doubt since he was playing baseball but then I also want to say, he was playing baseball-what do rolled up jeans have to do with that? :hilarious:

Not his choice, I know, but... :hilarious:

Again, stylish for the time period.

The man can wear fushia! I never liked the pale suits, but I think they would have looked better with a lighter colour shirt. The black just seemed to emphasize how pale the suits were.

;) You know, I really liked the silver-grey suit he wore for the F1 tour, it was very becoming..very classy :D It kinda softens him, ya know? such a handsome man, very hard looking at all those pics of him with his great smile and laughing eyes, but hey, research is research :lie::nahnah: ;) hey, what MEMORIES??? :eyebrow:

He has two new grey suits which he wore on the After Hours tour last month (although when I saw him he wore a dark suit).

I love that outfit too. It's just the very pale blue & pale pink that he wore that I don't care for. There is a 1988 picture of him in a pink polo shirt that I am particularly fond of.
