I tried to bring it up on the Blu Ray to watch on a real TV and it said my 'browser' doesn't support Adobe Flash! Who makes a video player that doesn't support Flash? Hmm...I guess Sony. Guess I'll find it on my phone and hook it up to the TV since I can't find the appropriate computer cable.

Well, people have invited themselves to my house to watch this in Feb. So I need to rearrange all the stereo equipment so the best sound is with the best TV. Maybe I should just buy a new TV?

There is a bit of footage there from F1 that was familiar (when they bowed) but the old HC video stuff was all new & the quality appeared excellent.

Don looked very good indeed. I like that outfit. It broke up after every second while I was watching it so I was somewhat distracted. I do get a bit tired of Glenn & the open shirt look but he did look good.

Doesn't he have anyone to tell him it's not flattering? Luckily it looks like most of the recent interviews focus on Don's gorgeous eyes and face with that sexy facial hair I like so much, so you don't notice the shirt.

All I can think is maybe make sure your Adobe Flash Player is the latest version if you're using IE. The Flash plug-in if another browser.

For blips, I suggest pausing the video until you see the gray bar go all the way to the end, then playing it. It's a large file, and slower connections may have more difficulty loading it quickly.

And then I pasted that into a program I downloaded called "AllMyTube". You have five free downloads before it locks it down and makes you pay.

It downloads in MP4, which is very Mac/iTunes friendly but they do offer a converter.

That was the headline. They actually purchased only the broadcast rights to it. I don't know for certain, but there's probably a timeframe in the contract on how long they have to wait before it's released to stores.

After watching it the first time, this is the first impression/comments I put on the FB post:

OMG!!!!!!! But I am hoping they will announce when it will be out on dvd so I can decide if I need to order Showtime again or just hold off. I just cancelled it a couple weeks ago trying to make a point to my family that I am sick and tired of paying about $600 a month for cable, internet and cell phone bills so the extras where going. Won't look good if Mommy has to add back one of the movie channels for this. :hilarious:

Wow! I've just spent an hour reading through this and the Sundance threads and reading all of the interviews and reviews from the links posted. And a huge thank you to everyone who has been so on top of this and to VA for all of the gorgeous screen caps. Could this be any more exciting for Eagles fans? I don't think so.

I remember just reading in one of the articles posted (it may have been the same Billboard article that VA referred to, but I'm not sure) that Showtime had purchased rights for one month, so that could very well mean that it will hit the stores very soon after that.

I am one happy Eagles fan today. The anticipation is .... aahhh .... very stimulating!!! :thumbsup: :rockon:

ITA with everything you said here, Troub. I can't imagine going back and reliving my younger days on film like that. But, then again, I guess the guys are used to being under a microscope a lot more than me. lol However, the experience still must have been uncomfortable and satisfying all at the same time for them. The earliest it will be is March 19, since Showtime has a one-month window to air it exclusively. However, they've not announced a date and it could be later.

I'll be interested to see what they left in the dvd of Felder!

Apparently the guys didn't exercise much creative control over the project, preferring it to be objective (a terrific approach). That means that it was up to the director and producer to decide how much Felder to include - I'm sure it will be sufficient to express his viewpoint fairly. These documentarians know what they're doing.

I wonder if the documentary will win any Academy Awards next year?

So Glenn said that they listened to the albums again and got out the master tapes and what not...I'm kinda hoping the remaster their albums, I know I've mentioned it before and a mix response followed but I do think that they should. Perfect opportunity and Paul McCartney's been doing a good job with his and they sound excellent. So has Fleetwood Mac, though they're doing Rumours again (comes out next week I believe).

I honestly can't imagine the pressures of being in a band, let alone one that has been going for forty years and toured the world numerous times! I love my friends, but I'm sure they'd start to piss me off if I spent any more than three or four weeks with them in close quarters. ;) It's no surprise that they still have arguments and gripes, especially when they have to fit into that weird dual-role of friend/bandmate and business partner. It definitely explains why most bands implode after a while. I guess, if you can come out the other side of that (which the Eagles have done), you've cracked it. It sounds like they deal with things much better these days and let a lot of things slide.

While I was making dinner last night, hubby was sitting at the table talking to me when BOML came on the radio. He said that he had seen where someone (Anabel) had posted the trailer for the "Eagles thing" on my FB. He said "you know you do HAVE TO sign up for Showtime again temporarily to see this, right?". Told him since I had eliminated so many things to save some money, I didn't think it would look good doing that. In that interview, Glenn also said there were 2 discs that lasted 3 1/2 hours. This conflicts with previous information that said Disc 1 is about 2 hours and Disc 2 is 1 hour, with a 3rd bonus disc that includes 8 live concert songs from the Hotel California tour. I'm assuming Glenn misspoke and that the original information about 3 discs is correct.

I called Comcast this afternoon to get Showtime again before waiting to the last minute and there's actually a sale going on right now and you can get it for only $10 a month for the next 12 months. She also said I can cancel any time I want-no holding off a month or 2. It was funny tho, when I asked her how long I had to keep it because I only needed it till after mid month, she asked what show I was wanting to see. I told her History of the Eagles Part 1 and Part 2. She said, "oooh, if you like the Eagles, I'm sure you like Fleetwood Mac also. That's my favorite group." :hilarious: Told her I did and asked if she knew about the concert dates coming up. She was so excited and said she couldn't wait to tell her husband.

And win/win--- Comcast now has something going on with Verizon that if you purchase your new phones by calling through them, you get $10 off your Comcast bill for a year. The one he picked up is by iLive and I think he said it was on sale for $120 but said they had other ones that were anywhere from $80 up. This one has AM/FM and has an iPod dock. Several different settings for different kinds of music because we watch so many music videos and programs and settings for sports, movies, tv, etc.... Really adds something to the whole watching experience. We watched Styx Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Saturday night and have decided we have to work our way through all our Midnight Special dvds and Celebration Day again also. And of course, HFO and FW1.

I forgot just how crazy Joe used to dress...I mean some of his outfits were so off the wall...And the hats...I guess Marjorie now has a hand in what he's been wearing, because he's been very sharp in black lately.....but he still carries that rubber ducky on the stage with him...When I saw him in NY & I was right in front of him, I was tempted to grab it off the stage, because nobody was really watching it.. but I was too chicken.. I couldn't do that to him.:sigh::sigh:

I just ordered Showtime today & ask if there are any special deals to try it..
I got it for $5.00/ a month for 6 months, but I can cancel at any time. So I may cancel after a month, but who knows I may keep it for the 6 months.

The On Demand for Showtime is a separate On Demand Channel for the Showtime channels only. It won't appear in your regular On Demand.

Ok, I'm ready to watch this thing already!!!

Hubby and I watched movies all afternoon yesterday because it's was so crappy outside, and between every movie, they would show a clip of this. I got giddy every time and my poor husband just goes with it. I'm so glad he "gets it". He even asked what I want him to make for dinner both nights and if we want to eat before or during. Love it!!! :thumbsup: This is a big event in all of our households this weekend.

I actually made a screen capture of just Glenn in this picture and have it at the side of my desktop. It's been keeping me company all day while doing these boring requirements documents.

Assuming the interviewer got it all correctly, it seems to me that if you read between the lines, Glenn is saying that if there's no new music then there's no tour.

If you add the 'deep tracks' that Don had mentioned to the favorite hits, you have a three+ hour show. They don't need new music with that. I'd like to get new music from them, believe me. I say, they can do a 'history' tour, then do new music and tour again. I'm so greedy, I know.

I went back and read it again...I can't speak for anyone else, but I guess my confusion came from the question being about new music and the answer from Glenn focusing on the number of shows they do a year before talking about getting together to do new music, or not. Then Don started talking about past shows instead of new music. Confusing.

As much as I love seeing them live, if the choice is between recording a new album and mounting another tour, I'll gladly take the new album.... Then they can tour to support it later. Best of both worlds!

Oh thank goodness someone else said it!! I was thinking the same thing and thought I might be the only one thinking that way. I want the new music myself. I've seen them in concert and as much as I love it, I'm not spending more money to see it again if it isn't changed drastically. I'd rather have something new at this point. Just my opinion tho.

I guess I just don't want them to give up the opportunity to tour, I think the release of the DVD will create a demand for a tour. If they actually did put out new music, it would be worth it. Giving up the opportunity and then never actually putting out new music would not, of course.

I agree with Brooke and VA. I would prefer the retrospective tour before looking at a possible new album. Given how long LROOE took to put together it could be a loong time before we actually see the album.

Yeah, in interviews last March and April, Glenn discussed the possibility of new music or even covers of the ones that influenced them. Nearly a year ago and they still haven't all gotten together and decided if it's even something they want to attempt, let alone complete.

I am not a fan of Lefsetz & his gushing. The part about Led Zeppelin 'not being American and being 'dark & introverted'.... without getting off topic, tracks like Black Dog, Rock & Roll & Trampled Under Foot are a lot less 'dark & introverted' than songs like Wasted Time & The Last Resort. He also seems to think the 'not being American' thing makes them automatically inferior. The two bands were ploughing different furrows & comparisons like this are unfair. (However, the line 'America; the land of sour grapes' is interesting).

As for 'Glenn Frey was all about fun'. There is more to him than that. Perhaps when he was very young...
