It's the anniversary of the day in 1979 when I first saw The Long Run & that was how it all started. :drunk: I have told this story elsewhere. I knew I had to choose my favourite Eagle that day. I had heard Heartache Tonight on the radio as it was the single but I don't think I linked it with NKIT, my previous favourite Eagles vocal. When I looked at the gatefold I could identify four out of five of them. I was baffled. I don't know if I had to look at the credits or if it dawned on me that it had to be who it was, & THEN I looked at the credits & then got an even more pleasant surprise when I read about Heartache Tonight. As I have said while I was walking back to the university (I was in Canberra at the time) I tried to tell myself I was supposed to go with Don Henley. It didn't work.

But as far as what happened earlier this year I still have trouble believing it.

I've been researching and I can't tell you about the other guy but I'm pretty sure it's the shirt from the first Eagles album shoot.

Don Henley is looking very similar, too. Something about the photo makes me think it's taken by Henry Diltz so I'm wondering if it could even have been taken just before they went off to Joshua Tree.

Does anyone have any idea how old John Barrick was or have a picture of him? (ETA: He was 44 when he was the Eagles road manager, so that's probably not him in the picture)

Yes, the letters are P&W for Play & Wave which is what the Long Run tour was called, not JW. You can see the ampersand if you look closely at the last photo I posted.

JazzAspenSnowmass is an annual 3 day festival in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. There were 3 acts that day-Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Courtyard Hounds & Joe & Glenn. J & G were the headliners & yes, they sang Rocky Mountain Way. Fantastic show!

wow that's awesome! I love Colorado..it's so beautiful there...I haven't been to Aspen, but I've been Rocky Mountain Way hehe...we went to Rocky Mountain National Park, Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs...I would love to take a ski vacation in Aspen...but I don't ski :shrug:

Thanks! Its a brilliant lens. One guy (about half my age) came over to me on the Saturday night actually came over to me and asked how I could manage to take such 'good pics'. it really WAS down to the lens though. Its got an 80x zoom. You leave it for a few seconds to focus, then hope your 'subject' doesn't move too much!

Thanks; Nikon Coolpix but the zoom lens is very basic, nowhere near the quality of GA's or VA's for that matter. I was on the wrong side of the stage on the night I took the above photos. The best photos I have ever taken were on the same tour on December 2 (see avatar & signature). I was a bit disappointed with some of the AH tour photos.
