There was a picture in HOTE of a woman with Don at the part where he says that he and Glenn both tried to have relationships but that the Eagles seemed to trump all. Anyways the woman in the pic had a gorgeous turquoise bracelet on. I would love to have one like it :)

Notice that Irving isn't holding his jersey up? It's probably as long as he is!

Also, who is the woman between Don and Timothy? Is that Don's wife? That would explain why she has a jersey and none of the other women there do.

It is common for groups to do a photo call with management from the venue - my friend does suite sales in the arena in Iowa where the Eagles played (they did NOT take a pic with arena management there), and she has a pic of herself with every artist that plays there (except our guys!), so my guess would be that those others are senior level representatives from the arena.

Agreed! And if you didn't know this was taken in the 90's all you would have to do is look at what they are wearing. Everyone in the 90's wore Doc Martins and flannel shirts! haha These guys are about as far from grunge as you can get :hilarious:

The main reason I thiought it was Lyin' Eyes was because there was footage of them in HOTE rehearsing it & it seemed the logical choice to test their harmonies. If you look at Glenn you can just tell that his guitar is acoustic.

Sometimes it's just what you pick up and grab. I know plenty of guitarists who dabble in bass (myself included), and will pick it up if there is too many guitarists and they need a bass player, or things like that. Also Felder came up with the OOTN bass intro TTBOMK, so he's familiar with a bass. :)

Just like some drummers play guitar, etc etc.

I'm not saying it wasn't LE, I just was pointing out the model of guitar. :)

It's probably Tim's and he just picked it up.

Got to give you credit though - a Jazz Bass and Strat have very similar body styles... :) The difference is in the curves being slightly offset.

[I was going to tell you Austin my daughter practiced bass for 2 1/2 yrs. I was so excited, but she won't play anymore for me. Aw it was just a "thing" Mom! She was being taught by a grad student for his thesis for "free"of charge to her the little twerp It should have been ME!!! I'd love to learn for free. LOL I tried to have my brother teach me guitar, I was too young and my fingers hurt. Both my Dad and Brother played guitar, self taught. I play piano by ear. Maybe I'll go to our basement and restring my Dad's old guitar. I thinks it's a Martin Authentic. Not sure....

I think everyone can learn.... I tried to learn many times before it took a special (Eagles-related) moment in a very dark part of my life for me to actually take it seriously and pick it up.

A Martin? Those are very, very nice guitars. Definitely would be curious to see what it looks like and if you can get pics and any numbers off of it someday I'd be happy to help you find out exactly what it is and maybe even what year. Perhaps post them in the picture thread if you ever get photos of it.

I found this on Getty Images, and all I can say is, WHY??

I searched on "Eagles 1975 Edwardsville" and that brought back a lot of pictures I hadn't seen and a few familar ones like the false noses outside a motel.

Good catch, DJ! Just goes to show you can't trust the setlists. I saw a website that claimed it was recorded in 1972. Anyway, it was released in Feb. or Mar. 1977 as a single with PMAIAR on the flip side. The album was recorded in 1976 (not sure when that year the single itself was recorded) and released in Dec. 1976.

It's an error. Was it setlist fm? That site is user-edited with no oversight. It is full of errors. I could go there now and post a BS setlist including the greatest hits of Barry Manilow and it would only be changed if some other user took it upon himself to do so.

Well, well. If they had used that shot for the album gatefold, would my famous reaction on the day I saw it have been different?! That is a nice photo of Felder. Could this have persuaded me to stick with Felder who was my favourite back then (believe it or not)? Henley looks more accessible there. I probably would have gone with Henley given that Somebody looks like he doesn't want to be there (probably a more accurate reflection of the mood). I am glad I have seen this because it casts a new light on things. :fear:

I agree with the look on Felder's face - it is a great picture of him and Joe. I think this is one of the few pictures from the Long Run era that Timothy doesn't look totally trashed in. For me, it was definitely the voice first. Then I saw a picture of him and didn't know who he was, wasn't even sure I was looking at the Eagles. I immediately decided, in my young mind, that this good looking guy was my favorite EVER! Then I realized the handsome face matched the beautiful voice and I've never looked back. Would I have felt that way if I'd seen this LR picture first? I don't know, maybe not. I wouldn't have preferred any of the others based on this picture.

After the Eagles played, Alan Walden, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s manager, was extremely upset backstage yelling, “I’m NEVER gonna let one of my bands follow that band ever again!” Alan was right to be upset. Following the Eagles onstage was not a good place to be. The Eagles left the Orange Bowl field with a 3 touchdown lead. Skynyrd played well, but never even got close.

One of the main reasons I posted the 2nd shot was because Cindy was back to her cute self. I wasn't even sure it was her when I saw the first shot. I know that Glenn doesn't usually do the "hang out w/other rock stars" thing but I imagine a Beatle would always be the exception to the rule.

I can't believe the photographer picked that moment for the picture, with Cindy putting her coat on. Even so, she's the prettiest woman in the picture, IMO. Joe wasn't smiling and Olivia was nearly completely hidden. Was this a professional photographer?

Ned Doheny was a singer/sogwriter who hung out at the Troubadour and was signed to Asylum. He gave Jackson Browne the Book of Gunfighters. If you remember the sauna story, he was one of the four musicians in David Geffen's sauna. He was more a friend of Jackson Browne - they even formed a duo in the late sixties.

ETA: I thought he had a co-write on Doolin-Dalton but I was wrong.

The 70's and early 80's were a wonderful time. I liked professional basketball back then! For the last 20+ years, men's fashions have been at a low point... IMO!
