Eagles on Streaming Sites? Now You See It, Now You Don't.

The Eagles catalog was on Rdio for a day, then yanked, and there's been no comment from anyone on why this was. A Rdio executive announced the catalog on Wednesday and by Thursday it was gone. It could still happen, but who knows?

In the past certain Eagles have had issues with their music being available for streaming on the internet, feeling it would not make them enough money, and it didn't hurt that certain Eagles have harbored a generalized distrust of all things relating to the internet and music. However, I hope that's changing and that despite the yank, we'll get them on a streaming service soon.

still don't get it...once it's agreed that it can be on some streaming site..I'm assuming that some contract had to be signed to make this so...can they just take it back like this?..

It is a pathetically small amount, from what I read about Spotify. Less than a penny per play, I think, but you know? Still more than what public radio pays.

Do you remember the IHeart Radio Eagles station? Is it still available? I remember several of us listening to it quite a lot for awhile there. It was so fun hearing Joe and Timothy talk between songs, etc....

omg that would be so cool...I don't get that Iheart radio thing?...I mean I don't understand Iheart radio...what it is...or how you get it...but an Eagles station?...worth figuring it out...I will try to find out if there is an Eagles station...

Iheart radio is similar to Pandora where you enter an artist and then similar artists play. I wasn't aware there were stations dedicated to just one artist. I only thought that was for Pay for internet radio.

I play Eagles songs on Iheart every day. Nothing has been pulled as far as I can see.

It doesn't play all Eagles though. There's also music by other artists that the Eagles recommended or something like that.

I play Eagles songs on Iheart every day. Nothing has been pulled as far as I can see.

A couple of years ago, there was an actual Eagles channel they promoted with lots of Joe hosting & playing his favorite music & station ID breaks by Timothy, etc. Somewhere on here is a a whole thread about it but haven't got time to look for it at the moment.
