Just read that Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers passed away.
He had COPD. I think they said he was 74 years old. Loved
The Everly Brothers music.

One of the most perfect moments in singing is the final 'Let it be me' in the song of the same name.
I was lucky enough to see the Everlys at the Royal Albert Hall (not the Reunion concert in 1983) and still remember those last few notes.

Sad to hear this. They had such beautiful harmonies.

Bill Flanagan did a nice piece on them on Sunday Morning today and specifically mentioned the Eagles and played a snippet from Peaceful Easy Feeling. They had such an influence on so many great harmony bands. It was a nice tribute.

I cry every time I watch that video, they're singing to each other on that last song, as if everyone else has already gone home. There's also a segment in the documentary Songs of Innocence and Experience where they're singing "All I Have To Do Is Dream" to their aunt and uncle in their living room in Kentucky and...I cry like a baby, every time.

If angels do exist, Phil and Don were among their rank here on Earth.

How sad this is and how I loved The Everly Brothers when I was growing up. I think my favorite song of theirs was Wake Up Little Susie, but there are so many other great ones as well.

R.I.P. Phil - you are a true legend.

did you know Wake Up Little Suzie caused quite a stir when it first came out? Because it implied they spent the night together.

Imagine what those same people would say about today's music

Same goes for Elvis's dancing compared to the dancing of today.
