Just found this tidbit on how much it costs to hire the Eagles to play... but that was in 2005. It probably costs even more now!

Corporate Meetings & Incentives (06/05) P. 27 ; Andelman, Bob
An excerpt:
"Sometimes it is possible to negotiate a bargain, as Home Depot found when it wanted to book the Eagles but balked at the band's $1 million price. Instead, it settled for two band members--Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh--for only a third of the price of the full band.[...] It is important to keep in mind that the costs are not limited to the artist's fee, but also include contract rider requirements and other extras, which Sonder says can often add 30 percent or more to the talent fee."

I also wanted to correct the date... I looked it up on my tour pages (http://www.glennfreyonline.com/tour/atlanta2000.htm) and the show actually took place in 2000. So they cost a million bucks seven years ago... who knows what they get now!

If the Party of Two costs $333,000 or so, I wonder what just one of 'em costs?

I suppose about $150,000. I have never heard of Joe doing corporate shows on his own though.

I was just watching this show on VH1 about this kind of thing. They said that Christina Aguilera got $2.2 MILLION for singing two songs at a wedding of some Russian billionaire. Holy crap! And Paris Hilton has been paid $300,000 to appear at a club for 20 minutes and do nothing other than drink, dance, and party. Disgusting, huh?

Well, taking the above into account, the Eagles' fee is quite reasonable, then!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Glenn's fee was around $250,000 for personal appearances. I have no idea where I saw it though, so this could very well be inaccurate. Anyway, if it is true, I guess the fee for the Party of Two is a real bargain. :)

I'm sure he would be glad to entertain you on your birthday, GA. Better book him now though before he schedules the date for an Eagles tour.
