Here are some pictures from the Germany concert yesterday. Some great pictures.

From what I read on Facebook from the fans who were there: Bernie was not there, and they sang How Long and Dirty Laundry. Hmm

I saw some fans in the audience taking pictures and standing :eyebrow::hilarious:

Wow - if that is accurate, it is very interesting. Seems to me, if they were going to change the set list at all because Bernie was absent, they would have gone with Seven Bridges Road and How Long like they did at the opening L.A. Forum show.

From what I read. It was an outdoors festival so they probably had to get rid of some songs. Shorten their setlist so it won't be three hours if their were other acts other than them playing that day.

I'm surprise they added HL and DL to the setlist if it's true. HL hasn't been played since the Forum shows.

On the photos you can see lots of people using cameras.
I feel a bit :enraged: that it was OK at this show but not others, and security were such a pain about it if someone dared to take a single photo.
I went to 2 shows and haven't got a single photo to remind me of them.

I suppose I should be grateful for this photo gallery(which I am).

They probably allowed cameras because it was outdoors & in daylight.

I am extremely dubious that they would suddenly add How Long & Dirty Laundry but anything is possible, I suppose.

Zurich is an indoor arena but Lucca is another outdoor setting. Will be interesting to see which setlists get used for those two venues and also whether Bernie plays either/both. I certainly hope all is well with Bernie. I read somewhere earlier today (THOUGHT it was here!) that they aren't doing the HOTE show for outdoor venues. If that IS the case then there may be some disgruntled fans who are expecting the HOTE show - since that is how this tour is being promoted!

shunlvswx

That's probably the case here and why Bernie wasn't there. He was just at the Liverpool show two days before this concert. I think he should still play at the outdoors events. Maybe the festival just wanted the current Eagles. I think this is the first time (that I know of) that Bernie wasn't at a show. He's been part of every tour date they've done.

They've played outdoor arenas before on this tour, haven't they? This is the first time I've heard of a song being dropped or added. I hope Bernie's OK.

It would astonish me if they added Dirty Laundry to replace it, which wouldn't make sense if they were wanting to do a shorter show anyway, although it's certainly not impossible. I'll keep an eye out for setlist. It's not that I don't believe the person who made the Facebook post, but everybody makes mistakes and perhaps he or she got confused. You never know!

I found a setlist on setlist.fm. I know it's not always true but looking at the pictures, it could be right. I kinda can tell what songs they are playing from the pictures. They probably did add HL and DL

Could you post the photos where you think they're doing those songs? I'm too tired to look, lol.

What we really need is video, since setlist fm is so unreliable.

Freypower

From what I could tell the photos show the songs as this setlist claims, until Heartache Tonight. In the first photos they are all playing acoustic guitars which indicates they are doing How Long. You can tell that Glenn is singing lead in all these songs except for ICTYW. As the photos end at HT there is no way to tell if they did DL. NB: I could tell the final song is HT because it's the new version with both Don & Glenn on acoustics.

But the thing about HL, I thought Joe plays electric guitar on that song. So it could be HL or TITTL. HT. Also. Joe plays slide guitar on that song. How many songs does all 4 (and 5) of them are at the microphone and have separate mike stands. I know LWKUA, BOML, TITTL, and HT. Those songs Don is playing the acoustic guitar. I think I just answered my question. LOL

I agree with what FP said. I was about to post, but my browser was not responding and I had to restart my computer.

I've been looking for video from the show too and I haven't seen any yet.

I saw this article on Facebook. There's a possibility that the first picture is HL.

http://www.ndr.de/ndr1niedersachsen/programm/Eagles-Welcome-to-the-Stoppelmarkt-in-Vechta,eagles184.html

I use Google translate. So the translation might be off a little.

Here's what it said in German in the first paragraph.

Eagles: Welcome to the Stoppelmarkt in Vechta

"History of the Eagles" is their current world tour. The schedule of the Eagles this is just one concert in Germany - and that was on Saturday in Vechta on the stage. There, on the grounds of stubble market, even light drizzle could not dampen the jubilation and anticipation: Thousands of fans, most of them in the prime of life, expected the stars from the United States. And they were also quite entertained at the opening act of the nearly sold out concert: first by The BossHoss, then by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

This the third paragraph.

At 21.30 clock then enter - in the still steadily dripping drizzle of Vechta - the Eagles the stage. "Canadian beach weather we call it in California," says frontman Glen Frey welcome. Together with Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt and supported by other musicians takes the band deep into the treasure chest of their shared musical history. And suddenly even the sky has relented, the rain decreases. The Eagles soar With a Country, offer harmonious vocal harmonies as perfect as in the studio and go after half an hour some rock into the rock tray. The atmosphere increases, the musicians turn sharply to, premiums are due.
Last concert in Germany the Eagles?

At the end of may, of course, the "Hotel California" is not missing, then gets even "Desperado" - and then the only concert in Germany is on the Eagles-world tour already over. Perhaps the final at all, as some of the fans speculate on the Stoppelmarkt after the concert. But they were luckily with this.

Watch the video a little down the page and at the 1:53 mark, they are singing HL. And Joe is playing that same guitar in that first picture. So the setlist is right. If they played HL, they probably played DL.

They sing HT, TITTL, and HL in the video. I wish I knew what the interviewer and the people they were saying. I took German is college, but I'm not that good in it.

When I saw them on the LROOE tour in 2008 it was at an outdoor festival where the Eagles were the last of 4 acts. It was a shortened set & the only song they played from LROOE was HL. It seems that when they play festivals, as opposed to outdoor venues where they are the sole performers, they do a shortened show with a somewhat standard set list. :-(

Thank you, Mary & a big Hi! to everyone,

first of all: I'm not a diehard Eagles fan. My favourite band is the Beatles. Always has been, always will be. But as the Beatles themselves my musical taste has many facets. From my first concert in 1981 (Santana) to the present I've seen many acts. Maybe around 200-250. But I've never been to an Eagles gig. So it was just perfect when the concert in Vechta (just about 40 Minutes from my hometown) was announced. At first I thought it was a joke, because bands like the Eagles don't play in small towns like Vechta. But as we all know now: It wasn't a joke at all. ;-)

Manfred Mann's Earth Band opened the show. They had a really good singer who replaced Chris Thompson: Robert Hart. His mighty voice has a more bluesy tone. The Earth Band played classics you would expect, from "Davy's On The Road Again" to "Mighty Quinn". Absolutely fab!

After that it was The BossHoss' turn. They are quite big in Germany. The band is from Berlin and has a style between Country Rock and Rock'n'Roll. I would not have moaned if they hadn't been a support act. Their songs won't stand the test of time (I'm quite sure), but they delivered a good show.

Then the Eagles! I arrived very early, and so I managed to stand right in front of the stage. It was great to hear all those classics! I enjoyed it very much. Even the rain stopped after the first couple of songs. Glenn Frey: "We call it Canadian beach weather!". They sang very well, played the instrumental parts perfectly and they had fabulous backing musicians. Unfortunaltely they didn't add "Wasted Time" to their setlist, one of my favourite Eagles ballads. Maybe because Henley can't reach the high notes anymore? I don't know. A little downer: I had the feeling, that the band is a partnership of convenience. Sometimes it felt like a matter of routine. Henley and Schmit seldom smiled and left the stage quite quick. Walsh and Frey were the ones who entertained the crowd. Anyway, I'm so happy that I had been there.

At last, some words about me: Next year I'll be 50, I live with my family in a small town in Lower Saxony near Bremen. I work as a teacher, my hobbies are my website www.ex-beatles.de (http://www.ex-beatles.de) (which focuses on the Fab's music after their split), the German Beatles forum www.erdbeerfelder.de (http://www.erdbeerfelder.de) (I'm co-admin) and their Facebook spin-offs. Besides that I enjoy photography and playing the piano, guitar, bass and sitar.

And now some pictures. Please do NOT share without permission!

Enjoy!

Their were two other acts playing that day with them. So it looks like they were the closing act for the festival.

It kinda does make you a little upset that they would play HL at this show, but yet the only time they ever played that song since this tour started last year was the Forum.

I was looking at the New Orleans setlist from last year when they played the Jazz Festival(and their were a lot of acts at that festival) and they played 7BR/HL. They played 20 songs compare to 16 songs at this festival.

I'm not surprise it was a very short setlist since this is was a festival and they weren't the only act playing that day.

Welcome LL and thanks for your review and pictures. I had looked at going to Germany when I came home from Liverpool last week but I didn't like the seating set up. I'm kinda glad now as the set list was shortened though I'd've loved to have heard 'HL'.
