In a word --- AWESOME!!!

I'll write more later, but it was a great concert all around. The crowd around me, anyway, was great and it seemed to fire the guys up pretty good. They looked great, sounded great. Glenn had a cough and used a few tissues, but he sounded great. Oh my, he was having a spectacular hair night. They all were, actually. Well, except Bernie, of course, but he looked great, too!

I need to come down off this high a little bit. Hopefully I'll have time to write more tomorrow before I get to do it all again!

Agreed, agreed, AGREED! The Omaha show is but a memory, but WHAT a memory! So glad I had the chance to meet VA and get acquainted, likewise with Kate - such super ladies!

Too keyed up to sleep but to tired to write in detail tonight and I have to be on the road in six hours so I'll write more tomorrow night. But they were in fine spirits and excellent voice and gave us what we wanted -- another excellent show! And VA is right...they were all having an excellent hair night. I think Timothy's is almost as long as Jean's (okay, not quite, but it was past the middle of his back!).

No change to the setlist, NO photos (they were all over people in my section right out of the gate) but after the intermission everybody was on their feet. Glenn started the second half by thanking the crowd for being patient and cooperative during the first setlist and then added, "but that's over" and Timothy raised us to our feet - where we pretty much stayed till the end.

Have GOT to sleep. Will check in tomorrow night and add more, but as always they did not disappoint.

One thing I want to mention before I forget. None of the people sitting around me, all VIP people, were from Omaha. All traveled, and some a great distance, to get there.

Cynd & VA - sounds like you gals had a FABULOUS time! Can't wait to hear more. I know y'all must be tired because it is hard to sleep after an EAGLES concert! :partytime:

The concert was so good that as we waited to get out of our row at the end, I heard two different people wonder aloud if there were any tickets to tonight's show left on a resale site.

I have to admit, I was worried at first. They did the first three songs well, but it didn't seem easy for them, and when I saw three boxes of tissues on stage, then saw Glenn cough after the first song, I wondered how it would go. There was no need to worry! The crowd loved Witchy Woman and I think that's where they really started to get into it. They all sang along like they'd been hearing the rearranged version their whole lives.

Once again, DD/D Reprise blew me away. The harmonies on 'maybe tomorrow', at the volume they use, with the arrangement of the instruments, I had chill bumps all over me. There is no other band on earth that can do it that well, and sound that good.

People in my section (floor center) stood for Already Gone and no one told them to sit. Not everyone stood, but it all worked out. I was lucky, no one around me or in front of me tried to take video or photos, so there were no distractions from security. Also those around me got in their seats and stayed there, they didn't get up and down to go get more to drink, etc, so that worked for me as well.

Soda, you might want to close your eyes a moment... The 'Plaintiff' joke made an appearance, and it got a big laugh. Everyone loved the song, it's so easy to sing along to. I won't go into how they did each song, since they did all of them extremely well. NKIT got a standing ovation from a lot of people, deservedly so. Long Run got a lot of crowd interaction and a standing ovation from a lot of folks.

It was gratifying and somewhat amusing to me to see the looks on people's faces after ITC was over. Joe smoked that guitar, and really performed the song. Watching him perform it live is always a highlight of my concert experience. Other songs of theirs are more well known for the guitar parts, and on the album, the guitar work doesn't come across the same (to me) as it does live. Anyway, there was a lot of pleased and shocked looks and the lady next to me said, 'Wow, that was amazing.'

There was a kid in the front row, and Glenn interacted with him a lot, which he usually does. At the very end, as they were walking off the stage for the final time, Glenn blew someone in the first row or two a kiss.

Joe wore blue jeans instead of black, which was a nice change of pace.

It deserves to be said again, Glenn had a great hair night! It seems longer than before, with a little more of a wave to it, and the entire night my fingers just itched to run through it. It didn't look to be a different color. Some songs it had a gray look to it, but most of the time it was the same brown as usual. Of course, there was a time it looked purple and twice it looked orange. It seems to depend on the spotlight of the moment. Oh, and the rest of him looked pretty good, too.

Glad you ladies had a great time and that the band did not disappoint - they rarely do!

And VA - thank you very much for your investigative reporting on the state of Glenn's hair! lol

Oh, and according to Don, Bernie was wearing the same shirt as he wore in 1979. Bernie said Don just doesn't remember. Funny moment. :D

I'm exhausted and exhilarated AND kicking myself for not doubling back for the show in Des Moines tonight! (The only reason I didn't go was that my cat has been boarded for two weeks and had dental surgery yesterday & I really felt I needed to get her home.) This was my first - and probably only HOTE show unless they add more US dates next year. All I can say is FOR HEAVEN SAKE, GO! I saw them several times during LROOE but this show can't compare. I will say this: a lot of the reviews have panned the first half of the show because of the pace and format, and if you haven't been to a HOTE show, it's a stark difference from what we're accustomed to seeing so I can understand where these critics are coming from. But this is the Eagles at their finest!

I was in Section C, Row 3 right in front of Timothy and Bernie. Spectacular view for a TBS die-hard like myself! But so overwhelmed by the whole thing that I forgot to mention this to VA last night. As they were stepping up to the mikes to sing Already Gone there was a lull and I hollered "GLAD YOU'RE BACK, BERNIE!" He pointed and smiled, then when they finished the song Timothy said something to him and they looked in my direction so I blew Timothy a kiss. He smiled and nodded, and while I'll never know for sure if they were looking at me, I can always hope!

Like VA, I was a bit concerned when Don and Glenn started SN because Glenn's harmony sounded a bit weak. But as each member took their place on stage Glenn sounder better and by the time Joe walked out they were steam-rolling and never looked back!

Witchy Woman blew me away. I'd seen a clip on YouTube but couldn't get a good feel for it. Seeing/hearing it live is a game-changer. From the first downbeat you KNOW you're experiencing something new and awesome. It's edgy, it's sharp and I loved it.

DD/D reminded me once again of why I fell in love with these guys in the first place all those years ago. The story, the intricacies of the harmonies, the whole package! And when they get to the end and sing the "desperado' refrain you wish it could go on forever because it is so beautiful and rich and full of passion. I was mesmerized!

I have to admit that when Bernie was on stage he really gave Timothy a run for his money with me! He's just as strong and charismatic as when I saw them back in the 70's and my heart skipped a beat when he walked out for the first time. In the end Timothy won with me. And Joe was a star all by himself...I don't think anything else needs to be said about Joe except that he was on fire.

Security was all over my section throughout the first setlist. Despite the announcement and security repeatedly telling people to keep their phones put away and stay seated, there was a gal behind me who just didn't get it. It didn't take long for her to embarrass her date (who I had initially thought was her father!). First they had to tell her to stop taking pictures and put her phone away, then during Already Gone they told her to stop dancing and SIT or they were escorting her out. She had on a VIP lanyard and was drunk as a skunk! There were also a lot of people in my row who came back late from intermission during ICTYW which ticked me off.

A few final comments:
1 - I found myself thinking of it as a 'green night' when they came out after intermission. They were all wearing shirts in varying shades of green/aqua/grey-green. I think Don's plaid even had a little muted green in it and I wondered if it was planned. Really loved Glenn's (a gorgeous aqua/cream/blue plaid) and Timothy's (green/cream).
2 - Aside from all of the old jokes, after the intermission Glenn graciously thanked everybody for their patience and cooperation during the more formal first act and then added "but that's a thing of the past' and then urged the crowd to sing along on The Long Run. (Our section had been singing along all night!)
3 - I don't think I've seen anyone comment on this from previous shows so I don't know if I missed it somewhere else or it was something new. Don was relating some 'history' and said "that we're here is a miracle" and then motioned toward the band and said "THIS is a miracle." My thought was 'thank God for miracles'.
4 - Except for the schtick that Joe and Glenn do, there was a minimal amount of interaction from the stage last night (with the exception of Glenn and the youngster VA mentioned), not even an picks thrown into the crowd that I saw. Made me wonder if they all have a touch of whatever Glenn exhibited because Timothy seemed less animated than any other time I've seen them.
5 - I heard several people say before the concert started that they were filming lastnight's show. Except for the live screen shots I didn't see any evidence of it. Wishful thinking or may there be a HOTE concert DVD in the making?

Those things being said, IT WAS WONDERFUL! They did not disappoint, but they never do! Right now the time is 55 minutes to "Saturday Night" in Des Moines and I wish I was in Des Moines THIS Saturday night!

Okay, I've got about 7 seconds of video I shot on my phone as they were exiting after the final bow Friday night. It's on my computer as .mp4 format. How/can I even upload it here? It's not much but I'll share it if I can.

Here's the URL for photobucket - if it will work.

Great to meet you, VK! I had dinner with the couple beside you. He got my attention before the show, held up his index fingers, mouthed eleven, and pointed at you, indicating how many shows you had been to. I figured that might be you, so I came over. Glad you had a good time. It was a great show, but I did have to deal with some nonsense. A good portion of the 2nd row was still empty at 7:55, and we were in the aisle seats. They finally come in, sat down, but then left again, seconds before show time! My favorite song on this tour is the Glenn & Don duet on Saturday Night. It was great to have 4 or 5 people climbing over me in the middle of it. This sat the tone for traffic the rest of the evening. If it wasn't them, it was security climbing over me to get to them for cell phone use (at least 3x). If all I wanted to do was drink beer, urinate, and play with a phone, I'd stay at home. Must have money to burn. End of rant. We will look for you in NYC, VK. You'll have to look back to see us on row 15 in C. 10 days!

Hi Cynd. I'm sorry as well. Maybe another time. It's funny, one of the Hilton employees talked about being offered a bribe for Eagles info. After reading some of your Omaha posts, I wonder if he was talking about you!

I'm center section, row 5 in NY, but I can't remember the seat number. I can't get into Ticketmaster, so printing the ticket will be a challenge. Guess I'll be on the phone with customer service this week!

Looking forward to meeting you and maybe having a real conversation! The folks beside me told me they'd sat with you at dinner. I was surprised that you figured out who I was!

PEW is setting in, so I'm glad it's only ten days til the next one!

Keith, I stayed at the Hilton but I didn't try to bribe any of the staff. Didn't have to...I spent time talking at length with some CenturyLink security people on Thursday afternoon and they volunteered plenty of info, like what time the band was expected on Friday, which entrance they'd be using and pointed out where to stand on the Riverwalk to get the best look! They also told me that the Roadies were staying at the Hilton. Two convention groups in the house made it easy for those guys & gals to blend in although I picked a few of them out Thursday evening when they were coming back to the hotel from the arena. BUT I fought the urge to corner them and play 20 Questions (which would have morphed into 520 Questions)!
