I like that Bernie was wearing a "McCabes" t-shirt (that being the music store where he heard Glenn Frey and Don Henley were putting together a band...)

What a fantastic concert! Their voices were amazing (even better than last time).

We were seated on Joe's side, and when I bought tickets I got a message that views could be limited - but we were thrilled with the seats. Front row on that side, and directly in line with them when they were on stage.

Highlights - well there were so many, starting with Bernie's presence. Rob & I both loved the new arrangement of Witchy Woman, and Freypower - I am sure you are going to LOVE this version of Heartache Tonight.

It was great to see them laughing at themselves (Glenn's road trip!!).

Those Shoes was fantastic, and Joe was on amazing form all night.

I thought this show really plays to their strengths, and gives everyone a chance to really shine.

Love Will Keep Us Alive was beautiful (as was ICTYW) and it was great to hear Timothy getting some love. (& by the way he looked amazing in slim fitting dark jeans!).

Oh & while I'm doing shallow observations... Glenn & Joe's play off sparked some inappropriate-but-pleasant thoughts too!! :eyebrow::blush::blush:

Can't wait for tomorrow's concert. We're in a different location so will be able to see the screens too.

More reviews. It's hard to believe that these reviewers attended the same concert!

Question - Joe didn't play Funk 49 & LBG last time they were in Australia?

Two constrasting reviews.

Starting with the bad one. The reviewer is clearly indifferent to the music so chooses to critique the "history" part of the show based on a superficial knowledge of the band's history.

The second is part review and part (appreciative) essay on the banning of phones:

ETA: Looks like I was beaten to it, but I'll leave my links as they are direct rather than through google.

Hmm. The writer of this seems to object to the fact that the guys discuss their history and play the old songs. Well, it *is* called The History of the Eagles. Obviously someone who doesn't like the Eagles or appreciate these great songs. Probably allergic to melody.

Question - Joe didn't play Funk 49 & LBG last time they were in Australia?

Yes he did. The writer is thinking right back to the F1 show, forgetting the band was here in 2010. Yet both those songs were played on the F1 tour as well. What a shame to see the entire review so dominated by a discussion on phone usage.

As for the second review it's typical of the SMH/Age. Once again the show should be all about Walsh. As for not talking about the problems etc, they weren't there to do that. That was all in HOTE. I don't know what these reviewers want, or what they expect.

Don't get me wrong; I love Joe but I get very tired of reviewers thinking he's the be all & end all of the band & the only member they will be bothered to write about. It's lazy & it's an easy way out.

Yeah, all's about Walsh according to that reviewer, yawn
Also he didn't seem to understand the point of having a HISTORY tour plus I find it odd that he wants them to talk about sex and drugs and such, after all the great music is what remains of the stoned decade of the 1970s and it's also what is the most lastingly intriguing part of their history

The writer for The Age seems to be clueless that it's the music that made them famous, not the sex/drugs antics. Besides, the guys have successfully key-holed that part of their history right where it belongs....in the past.
